I love their waffles, the parmesan waffle dances on my tongue with delight. They have just the right amount of toppings for your waffle; enough for each bite of waffle. The people who work there are super nice. The place is small but they are a small business just starting out.

This place needs some help. Here’s my recommendations: a restroom for customer use, free tap water and coffee on the menu would be nice to start. Seems reasonable n standard. We had a table of four and all our waffles were served separately(get another waffle iron or three). The waffle’s were dry and the toppings were minimal for the waffle size. Also lunch meat should not be a part of a breakfast meal offering.

Great value, waffles were excellent, good music, friendly folks! We are excited to see our neighborhood grow with places like this. For those worried about plastic silverware we had the real deal. They are a new business and I’m sure adding as much as they can as they grow. We will definitely be going back!

Limited seating, plastic cutlery, bottled water only, and waffles on the dry side. These are my main complaints. They have a lot of waffle options, and the prices are what you would expect, about 5 to 6 bucks for a waffle. Good size waffles, nice presentation, and just enough food for a satisfying breakfast. You can choose 5 different styles of waffles, I got the cornbread waffle for my turkey cranberry. I suspect this place will not last unless they make some changes, but it is worth trying at least once.

I had hopes for another place in my hood, perhaps something more kid-friendly than the current offerings for after classes at the community center across the street. However, Waffle Tea will not be the thing. When, we opened the front door we were met with a cavernous, echoing space. There were no tables or chairs, just hastily cobbled together counters held up by 2x4s. Classy. The real issue is the waffles though. We ordered three waffles and granted, I did not get to eat them piping hot, because we had to haul the waffles and our offspring home(see the table issue). They were all very dry. The super sweet strawberry waffle was the best as the syrup helped the dryness. However, when they packaged it to-go they put the accompanying eggs and ham into the same box. Strawberry syrup coated egg did not go over well. The worst was the savory Parmesan waffle, it was topped with eggs and avocado and was unbearably dry. Almost the whole thing went in the garbage. It wasn’t cheap and none of the waffles were finished, even by our waffle and sugar loving offspring. So even though the rumor is they have tables now, we probably will not return.

I really want to support this local neighborhood business that just opened near my house, but there are a few improvements they can make. The table is too high/booth bench too low so I felt like a child trying to cut and eat my waffle with the plastic knife and fork they give you. I ordered the green eggs and ham waffle, but they didn’t tell me they were out of the sour cream for its topping until she brought it to our table. It was dry without the sour cream. The tea selection is very good, and we both had the chai, which tasted great. My husband’s sweet waffle wasn’t crispy enough for him. I will try them again because I want them to succeed, but it’s no Waffle Window, sorry.

Waffle and Tea is a sweet little neighborhood gem. I ordered a sweet waffle with bananas and nuts. It was delicious. I live in the hood and can’t wait for sunny days and picking up some waffles and eating at Mt. Scott. Fun idea and love supporting little sweet neighborhood spots. Hooray for waffles!

Love this little place that just opened up near Mt. Scott Community Center on SE72nd. The lady who took my order suggested the chocolate waffle with bananas, whipped cream, caramel and walnuts. It was tasty! 4.5÷5 for service and taste of the dish I ordered 3.5÷5 for atmosphere(no seating yet, they just opened up), but it looks like they’ll get it together soon. Will soon accept credit cards. I’ll definitely go back in a couple weeks.
