I have been going to Dani for many months now, and have been pleasantly surprised each time.
I heard about her as a short hair guru, so didn’t know if we’d be a good match with my boring long hair, but she has knocked it out of the park for me each time. What’s notable is her ability to translate my nebulous desires into a styling session, and her expert bayalage is top-​notch.
Dani is the best!

Paula is so fantastic. She is fast, and doesn’t charge a crap ton for the best haircut of your life! Only a couple of downsides; you have to make an appointment and keep it– she’s booked, also she is often behind, given her large client base. She is worth the wait, the 5 stars is warranted.

I’ve been going to Mimi for nearly 10 years and recommend her highly. She’s great with wavy/​curly hair (which is a hard talent to find) and has always been candid when I’ve come in asking for a cut or color that will work out poorly on me. Also, I kept my hair very short for several years and can report that she’s great at masculine and androgynous cuts as well. Prices are fair for the quality and consistency of her work. Have referred several friends to VVK in the past and they’ve all come away happy.

I have been going to Paula for almost 18 years. Her salon is chic, hip, eco and just plain awesome.
They use chemical free hair colors.
There is a small selection of product — all vera nice.
In addition to hair stylist/​artist you can also get a massage or hair removal.
The neighborhood is pretty great with local eateries, shops and bars/​pubs.
I schedule my next appointment before I leave my current appointment. Paula is probably the best hairdresser anywhere and it is tuff to get in with her, so I count myself as lucky to be a client.
She is fast, efficient and fun.

I’ve been going to Dani since I moved to Portland, and she is a find! Finding a hairdresser when you are new in town can be scary, but she was referred to me and I have never looked back.
She’s great at her trade, both with cut and color, a wonderful person and makes you look and feel fabulous when you leave. Everyone at the salon are friendly and fun, and the location very convenient. Love it!

Mimi Price at Villa Villa Kula has been doing my color and cuts for several years and she is fabulous. She has superior expertise with color and she is always spot on when I request a subtle (or not so subtle) change. She always seems to understand exactly what it is that I need to acheive with my cut and color. Without Mimi, I would be forever relagated to thin and lifeless hair. The bonus is her great personality and looking forward to the visit.

Just give her some general guidelines, so not to squelch her creativity, and let her do her thing!!! She will not disappoint!

I initially came here to get my hair «fixed». Dani was kind enough to squeeze me in and then did the best job possible given my last abortion of a haircut. I returned to Dani to get a partial highlight and haircut and I am ecstatic with the results. She has changed the color to be more natural and did an extra process. More importantly, she explained what she was doing and why. So the color rocks and then she cut my hair and it is just great. And to top it off, she works at a good pace and I’m not in the salon all day. For anyone with short hair, I strongly recommend seeing Dani. She’s fantastic!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Mimi for years! So has my mom and so has a few of her friends. She always gets it right. She’s cut my hair in a variety of ways (long, pixie cut, straight across bangs, no bangs, etc) and it’s always been perfect. She’s also very punctual. She’s so much fun to talk to and is very natural while working.

Dani is awesome! She always listens really well to what I want, and really understands how to work my hair. I’ll throw some ideas at her and always trusts what direction she wants to take them. Every cut I’ve gotten with her keeps getting better and better! She really knows how to cut short hair in a flattering way that works with the shape of my face, I’m always so impressed by her work and feel great. Go to Dani for an amazing job at an affordable price!

Dani is amazing!!! I couldnt get in with Paula so I made an appointment with Dani and I cant imagine a better haircut. She was so attentive to my needs having long, thick, coarse hair. I wanted an edgy long haircut and she knew exactly how to execute. I saw many reviews for her for short hair but she SO knows what shes doing with long hair as well. I will be back for sure. Full circle of hair artists, hair stylists, butchers, and bakers. and back to my one true love, Paula.
Went off the path, strayed, cheated, misused my hair. I was taken back with open scissors and for that I’m grateful. She just knows my hair, how it behaves, how it needs stroking. She will do whatever I ask of her to my hair.
I can now walk out of there after a well done hairdo with my head held high. She’s that good.

Dani is wonderful! I was looking for a new stylist and a friend recommended Villa Villa Kula, after I read a review about Dani being great with short cuts I decided to give her a try. Not only is she a warm and wonderful person, she gives a wonderfully amazing haircut! I am very picky about who touches my hair (scarred by Grandmother owning her own salon) and I trust Dani completely. I have gone to her several times now, she really listens, is great at working with my unruly wavy hair, and isn’t afraid to wield the razor. The salon is clean and attractive, I love it all.

I went to Dani for a short women’s cut, and she did an excellent job! I’m sure other women can attest to the usual problems of finding a stylist that «gets it,» but look no further! I would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

I heard about this place from Sherry S. after she read my review on Bishop’s. I have to give huge props to her for pointing me in the right direction! She told me about Paula… but Paula didn’t have any openings for a haircut on short notice (I knew this would be a possibility since she IS super amazing and popular). So, I made an appt with Dani. She’s FABULOUS! She sculpted my hair into a work of art. She apparently specializes in short ‘dos and I found that to be true. She used the razor the whole time and that’s what works best with my shorter haircuts anyways. This girl knows her stuff. She’s adorable, friendly and talented! I think you have a repeat customer with me!

All I can say is I have been going to this place for years and they rock my world. When my hair artist went on maternity leave I cut my own hair because i was not going to let anyone else touch it but myself or my special person. I only did it because it was getting out of hand.
They treat me like gold and if you want you hair to look amazing in cut and color this is the place to go.

Paula is wonderful and did a great job. It was nerve wracking to go short for the first time since junior high, and I never doubted I would walk out looking great. She was highly recommended by a friend who has hair just as baby-​fine and finicky as mine. It was a fun appointment, she really made sure she knew what my vision was before even getting started and I walked out thrilled to have short hair!
The prices are affordable, the location is convenient and central. I loved the atmosphere in their quirky little shop.
However, I have had half a year of terrible experiences with their phone line and receptionist. It started with me leaving a message that took almost two weeks to be returned. I was then told that since I was new, they couldn’t get me in for two months, and she was sure I wouldn’t want to wait that long (yes, I had her put me on the books anyway). I called back in November to schedule a 2^nd cut, a voicemail that was never returned. I gave them one more chance and called in early December, and Paula finally returned that call herself, more than a week later, after I had made an apointment somewhere else. (That 2^nd haircut also turned out fabulous — thank goodness)

I love me some Mimi. I’ve been going to her for the last three years… she’s a great listener… gets what you want and has an amazing way of transforming your hair. The best compliment I got was when I was in NY and a hair stylist asked who did my hair.
