Varsity Tutors – Portland

I am one of Varsity Tutors contracted tutors and I was contacted to review the organization in order to «increase [its] online presence in the area.» I’d say my experience overall has been positive. They are communicative and work hard to keep both their tutors and students happy. Depending on your subjects, you may have more or less luck with getting placed with students. I signed up as an English and French tutor. I’ve had two students in the 3~ months I’ve been registered with them. Both experiences were positive (you get to rate the students, not just the other way around) and I there were no issues or awkwardness about payment (the parents/​students pay varsity directly in advance).
I would recommend anyone interested in tutoring to sign up with them, especially if you don’t like reaching out to students yourselves.
