Urban Edge

I loved the shopping experience here and I do mean experience. I have to say I don’t like shopping for clothes usually and the 1+ hour at Urban Edge was probably the most shopping for clothes I have done in a year.
Ben, the owner, was welcoming but not pushy to help. I really wanted his advice though and I’m glad I asked. Ben was fabulous in picking out just the right stuff that I just loved while also nudging me a little bit to dress more hip then I usually do. He’s clearly very passionate about style and the clothing lines he picks for his store.
He gave honest opinions about fit and was even pointing out when an item was a little bit more expensive than other options. Overall the prices are very good I felt for the high quality clothing that he carries. All major items (shoes, shirts, pants) were around $ 150, some close to $ 100 and some closer to $ 200.
I ended up buying more than I had planned, adding an extra dress shirt and a belt and some super-​cool socks (who’d ever thought that I care about socks?)
Too bad I was just visiting — Ben’s store would be a regular stop for me and will certainly be on my list whenever I come back to Portland!

I’ve been in here a few different times now and absolutely love this place. All very high quality stuff and the owner Ben is incredibly helpful. It sounds super cliché but he makes you feel like you’re his best customer every time and no one else matters. He’s ordered a few items for me special order and than when I was in a time crunch he even ran them out to the street on my way by to make it easier for me. This place is amazing and I’d recommend it to anyone! Thanks Ben for always taking care me!!!

This store has a radical, excellent sock collection for men! I got a Camaro hoodie that was remarkable as well.
I needed gifts for men who were arriving for Christmas unexpectedly, and I was so happy to be directed to this oasis of manliness.
I will definitely go back and I would recommend this store for any girl who is challenged in the men’s-gifting department. It is a Godsend. :)

Urban Edge is über hip. Ben, the owner, is the clothes whisperer. A small but well stocked inventory of clothing you don’t see elsewhere but should. They do an excellent job of leaving you alone if you want solitude but also your personal fashion consultant as needed.

The owner must be a retail empath, he can see your style aura and possesses a keen sense when to ever so gently suggest and when to back up and let you marinate. They have another salesperson there besides the owner who has a winning smile and the ease and presence of a young, unpretentious Jesus Christ. If you’ve been there you know who I’m talking about. The atmosphere is relaxed and I really don’t even care about that. What I do care about is that every article of clothing is on point! From the ties that pop to to the Paige pants to the ¾ sleeve baseball tee to the Beren brand hoodies. So soft and comfortable with the perfect fit for the active male. I am a pragmatic, anarchistic, atheist with libertarian tendencies, skilled in the art of swerving clear of the bullshit and these clothes make me giddy. Best mens’ clothing store in PDX… maybe PNW. Set some ties back for me Astro!

After shopping here together, my wife went back and bought some Japanese Twill pants, a great shirt, and cool shoes. Excellent place. Fun clothes. Nice people work there, although I am jealous of that one guys beard.

I really hesitated to go in here (not sure why) but I am so glad that we did! They have a great selection of men’s clothes, but are phasing out their women’s. My hubby got a really nice looking pair of jeans for only $ 70, and we came close to buying so much more but the fit wasn’t perfect on him. The gentleman helping us was fantastically helpful and friendly. He offered suggestions and opinions and showed you merchandise, but was never pushy. Will definitely be stopping in again!

I had a great shopping experience at urban edge. The layout of the store was easy enough that I could easily navigate around.
Matthew is friendly and more than helpful as I browsed around, never being overly bearing; giving me updates on some styles I may like or history behind some clothing based upon what I had picked up.
I ended up trying out their shwood sunglasses which I loved, I didn’t end up buying it then to avoid impulse shopping but I came back after a few days and sealed the deal.
I don’t usually review clothing stores but UE is a very pleasant exception.
Highly recommended.

I had seen Urban Edge before on 23^rd and had never stopped by, but decided to on a lazy Saturday out with my boyfriend. As a stylist I am a little bit more picky about where I shop but Urban Edge really met my expectations. The owner is amazingly nice, and knows his fits and styles instead of just being an owner. The prices are very affordable; the dresses are especially a focal point in the store with their unique designs and wonderful prices. I tried on many pieces and none of them disappointed, and my boyfriend was able to find some nice ones as well. This has definitely become an instant favourite and we will definitely stop by more often.

Astro farted when we walked in, but it was alright. The whole place was alright. Good clothes, decent prices, nice owner, fun little dog that farts. I like it.

Urban edge is now located at 724 NW 23^rd St. It is the same great owner, with the newest clothes out from quite a few different designers. Urban edge keeps me looking sharp with clothes that are just unique enough so that I look like I know what I’m doing when it comes to fashion. The assistance I receive while shopping is invaluable. The sales person was excited to help me look my best. Urban edge is a place I’ll return to again and again, now that I can find it.

Ben the owner & Astro the boston terrier are the sweetest! Great atmosphere, great clothes & a helpful & knowledgeable owner. Must support!

Great place for something fresh, trendy, young and not likely to be seen on anyone else in Portland when you’re out and about.
So far everyone who’s helped me has been extremely nice.
We need to support this place — starting a high end fashion store in the middle of a recession has got to be a chalenge

I stumbled upon this shop while shopping in the Pearl. I was really impressed with the atmosphere along with the helpfulness of the owner, Ben. The store is geared towards men and women’s fashion. However, there is also an amazing jewelry section in the back. I ended up purchasing two amber rings and a pair of amber studs for only 86 dollars (all jewelry in the back was half off!) and they are super quality pieces. I have been wearing them less than 3 hours and have already had so many compliments! I will definitely make this store a staple when it comes to shopping for myself and gifts.
