I’ve been going here for years. Mister Lee(the owner) is a very friendly hard working guy(every time I see him he’s just busy, busy, busy!)* I’m truly addicted to the stuffed mushrooms they serve here… if you get them straight out of the oven its the BEST! I honestly don’t understand all the bad reviews. Its not the BEST sushi I’ve EVER had but it is pretty darn tasty if you ask me. And honestly the combination of Mister Lee and the super good prices of the food makes me happy/proud to eat here(no corporate chain ya know?) I like to think my eating there helps support small business as well. I’m going to be going again sometime this week. I will post my honest experience when I do. *(side note:) I used to come with my son all the time and then I moved… but when I went in again to pick up some mushrooms Mister Lee remembered me and asked where my son was!

Bad service everytime. Sushi is ok i guess, small portions but cheep so it makes sence. The manager yelled at the server the last time I was there, uncomfortable atmosphere. Couldn’t wait to leave.

It’s conveyor belt sushi. It’s yummy enough. The guy in the middle is super nice. His regulars appear really loyal to him.

Was really hoping this place was going to be a nice date night sushi spot, but it fell terribly short. The pros: They have all plates for $ 1.10 on Saturday nights. The Con’s: VERY little variety on the conveyer, hot food(egg rolls, pot stickers, tempura fried rolls) all extremely cold, sticky counter tops, empty condoments, rolls with avacado looked old, less then spectacular appearance on sushi rolls. Staff didn’t talk to us once, other then to seat us and serve drinks, restaurant was very cold at 8pm on a cold night and most annoying to me was there wasn’t a «menu» with conveyer options so anytime I was unsure of ingredients I had to flag down a waitress and ask. Won’t be coming back unfortunately.

Terrible. Used to come here all the time and the quality has gone down over the years but you can’t expect much for conveyor belt sushi. Even with that in mind, this was a huge disappointment. I left hungry because I couldn’t bring myself to eat only California rolls on the low side of mediocre. Figured I could fill up on gyoza as I saw her bring fresh plates from the back, regretted that as I buy into an ice cold«fresh» potsticker. Very, very little variety. None of the more expensive plates out at all(not even one, I checked). The only upsides; the spicey salmon roll wasn’t too bad, and the seared salmon I got was absolutely beautifully done, though lacking flavor, switch salmon type maybe? Overall I do not think I will be coming back. If you like plain, mostly rice, kinda sweet, California and philly rolls, this place is for you!

Umenoki is great, friendly service and fantastic fresh fish selection. Recently raised their prices to keep up with similar sushi-go-rounds, however this place is better.

Just wanted to update my last review to say that it looks like they took away the cash preferred pricing they had before. Also the owner seems to interact well with kids I have noticed in recent visits, even with the slight language barrier. Still a wonderful place for very cheap(while not being bad) simple sushi.

This is the kind of place that’s great in a pinch when you’re craving sushi but have no money. Saturday special is so cheap you forget that the sushi is pretty low grade. The salmon seems a little too frozen and isn’t fatty at all, the hamachi isn’t rich, a lot of the the rolls use fried fish sticks inside for some reason. There are much better places to go.

I love it here, and Mr. Lee is the best! When I first started going here, I thought the rice was a little bland, but it has gotten MUCH tastier recently. My personal favorite is the salmon, but the rolls are also very good, especially if you splurge for a fancy option! It isn’t a gourmet, artisanal experience, so that’s a poor metric for judging this place. this is good, every day sushi at great prices. You actually might want to eat there every day!

We come here all the time for a quick, cheap, healthy meal and we CANNOT believe the prices! A deal and a steal, every time. Don’t expect this to be your fancy upscale sushi place. Expect your reliable, lunchtime everyday kind of place. The people who work here are dedicated and hardworking, always the same people here, which helps me trust the food.

Drab… We weren’t greeted when we entered other than the door swinging back shut into my elbow. We eventually sat ourselves in one of the few clean tables. The staff has the personality of a doorknob. The atmosphere is depressing. It’s like a sushi cafeteria. The prices are definitely very good and the tuna I had was surprisingly fresh and tasted good even though I had to eat it with a fork because it was not afixed to the rice properly. Can’t help but get the feeling this places best days are behind them.

Our family has been going to the Lee family’s «Umenoki Kaiten» Sushi for years. We were just there for dinner, and realized that I hadn’t written a review of this wonderful no-frill establishment. We are never disappointed as Mr. Lee and family provide a nice atmosphere with great portions of Sushi for and even greater price. If you’re taste buds are ready to be delighted with food off the conveyor-belt-system, or special order off the menu you’ll be please with the size of the cut and flavor of the sushi they present. I fully recommend«Umenoki Kaiten» Sushi for a awesome venture into the sushi realm. PS Check out their weekly specials. Yes, it gets even better.

What to make of the contrasting reviews? I’d point out that Mister Lee and his restaurant has enough regulars, including us, that each time we are in, you notice when those regulars are there by the greetings. We’ve eaten sushi at a lot of places over the last decade plus. So we have a decent palate concerning the cuisine. All things considered, my 5 stars is a legitimate assessment of this belt style, reasonably priced sushi. Can you spend a lot more money elsewhere and have a different, upscale restaurant environment, you bet. Have we, on occasion, had less than enthusiastic belt-side service, once or twice, yes. Overall and all considered we will remain regulars at Mr Lee’s belt sushi and made to order restaurant.

I love this place. After coming here only a couple times Mr. Lee has already memorized my favorite sushi plates. I was pleasantly surprised to see they have $ 1 per plate special in Saturdays.

This is my family’s go to spot for sushi. There are others around town but this one is pretty consistent. We usually spend $ 20-$ 30 and get our fill for a family of four. I recommend trying the spider roll as it is one of our favorite dishes. Our kids love the misagos and we love the service we get from the sushi chefs. On Saturdays, every plate is $ 1. Closed Sundays.

I’ve had my share of cheap sushi, and this place really takes the cake. Just about everything I had tasted disgusting. Not even just okay. I know you get what you pay for, but this is the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Here’s the lowdown: I decided to get some quick sushi takeout after the gym… it took about 30 minutes to make everything once I’d decided what I wanted. I got an order of baked mussel($ 1.25 — decent, but cold), seared salmon($ 2.25 — okay), California roll($ 1.25 — meh), Philly roll($ 1.25 — okay), and some other type of California roll. Here’s where things get gross – I decided to order their Tiger roll and their Vegas roll. The eel tasted chewy and had a weird flavor to it, and the soft shell crab made my stomach hurt. The salmon was a little overcooked and dry tasting, even WITH cream cheese. Let it be known that I have an iron stomach, and I just spent a good $ 8.50 and $ 7 for a solid tummy ache the rest of the night. I’ve had sushi from about 10 – 12 different places in the past two to three weeks(I’m on a sushi kick!) and this was by far the most disgusting place I’ve ever had sushi. Note to self, no matter how tired you are, drive a little further – it’s worth it.

I came here again out of desperation. This place is like sign hell. Signs everywhere. $ 7MINONDEBITCARDS $ 1.25CASHPRICEPERPLATE, $ 1.50CREDITPRICE! $ 1.00SURCHARGEFORTOGO! Terrible. tacky, very few plates on the belt, and most of them are fried. I can’t believe they now charge a different price depending on how you pay. They really don’t want business, do they? It was dead when I came in around 7pm.

This is where we go when we want cheap sushi, where the only real requirement we have is that it’s «better than supermarket sushi», so if you have higher standards, you’ll probably be disappointed in some way. They have changed their pricing lately, there’s a cash price and a card-price, which is a 25c difference, that’s fine with me, it’s business after all. Minimum order is $ 7 per person. So make sure to read the signs and understand the way things work so you aren’t dealt any funky surprises. As always lower your expectations if you’re going somewhere that has a belt. It’s not going to be the freshest, nicest cuts.
