Ah, humanity!
You hope you don’t need one, but when you do …
Mine was an old complicated auto accident, that had happened in Washington, where another attorney had started the work and made a mess of it. Jeff Thayer took on the challenge, went above and beyond the call of duty, got it settled quickly (the former attorney had been trying to force me to go to trial, where he’d make more money — I needed low-​drama and NOW). When one healthcare provider claimed, after being paid, that I owed twice as much as they’d told me before, Jeff also took care of that before I even knew there was a problem.
I’ve been much, much less impressed by the person in the office handling my worker’s compensation claim. And I hate the Portland office — I was in a jam and couldn’t reach my attorney in his Salem office, so I walked into the Portland office, and the receptionist was not only not helpful, but extremely rude.
But the firm comes very highly recommended, and it’s nice when there are multiple issues happening at once to have it all under one roof. It’s ridiculous that people have to use attorneys to get insurance companies to do their jobs, but having a good one makes it so much less painful.
But Eugene, and Jeff Thayer — five stars. He listens, he explains things to me fully, he’s been available for questions when other issues have arisen since then, his ethics are impeccable, and you can tell he really gives a damn.
