Trade Roots

This has been my personal favorite go-​to store in Portland. They always have unique things that I cannot pass up, even funky comfortable and functional eyeglasses. Their jewelry is fun, they have pretty scarves galore, and the prettiest yet unique and classy clothes. The people working there, which I understand to be owners, are very very friendly and helpful. Honestly, I should’ve Unilocaled about them years ago; but then again, I don’t want this secret to get out! But after visiting there again last night, it was the only right thing to do: to let others know that they may find something special in this store; and even if they don’t, they will have a very pleasurable experience just being in there.
P. S. The earrings I bought here 3 years ago never fail to get compliments when I wear them in California (and Portland too :)

I was leaving Cadillac Café and came across this cute little store with fun stuff. I will say it ranged from well priced to over priced. I did come out scoring a small pile of the best birthday cards ever and the jewelry was pretty tough to resist.

Spontaneously walked in to this fabulous and colorful place and my wallet already felt lighter. This place is full of fun clothing, bagallinis, elegant jewelry, even a few doodads to decorate your home.
I was drawn to the big orange bagallini. My husband hooked me up with a grey one. It’s now Spring and I just had to have a bright bag to celebrate.
I also bought a Hamsa necklace for me, as well as my daughter to keep her safe during her future travels. I had been looking at them for some time and these winked at me. They were also 20% off which never hurts.

This place had an awesome offering of cultural items from various exotic countries. Beautiful clothing everywhere and loads of interesting little collectibles from around the globe. Truly a must visit if your cruising through the Irvington neighborhood. Check it out!

I love this place so much that I almost didn’t want to tell you all about it for fear of it getting mobbed. It is my favorite little neighborhood shop for inexpensive yet incredibly unique jewelry. Much of their jewelry is under $ 50 and gorgeous. They specialize in imported fair trade jewelry, clothes and gifts, so you don’t have to worry that your new necklace was made by an oppressed 6 year old. I get so many compliments on the stuff I’ve bought there, and its always different than what everyone else is selling and wearing.
They also have a lot of clothes, although much of it is aimed at an, ahem, more mature demographic. That being said, there are a lot of cute pieces, like floaty skirts and dressy tops, that would appeal to women of all ages, even the younger set. They have a great collection of scarves of different weights and patterns, and the staff does a great job helping you find that scarf of necklace that is the perfect finish to your outfit.
