The polish dogs they sell make the long wait for the Cascades train worthwhile. Also, try their smoothies… not bad.

The polish sausages are good! I regularly get one to go, or a bag of chips and a doctor pepper. Magazines and newspapers — they got those too. Do not eat at Wilf’s. It will make you wish you’d never set foot in Portland, or maybe earth. So sad and bad. Get a polish sausage instead.

The Trackside Café is located within Portand’s Union Station. It’s your last chance to buy a sandwich or other snack item before you board the Train. They also offer railroad related trinkets just in case you want of souvenir from your rail-related travels. I grabbed a sandwich here for later consumption in the comfort of my Coast Starlight seat. In retrospect, the offerings here are fairly comparable to what I found on the Train. The biggest difference is that when I was hungry and the Amtrak Café was closed(for extended periods of time), I was covered. The soft package wine I previously bought at Target also helped pass the time.
