The Paper Garden

You know when you were younger and would get like, a candle for your birthday and you’d be all like «really? a candle? what the hell am I supposed to do with this, like burn it or something? and why?» but then you grow wiser and realize candles are the shit and they create nice light and ambiance while emitting a lovely fragrance in your home.
And then you find the best smelling candles ever when you work in a store in Seattle and become kind of obsessed with them and give some to your sister so she gets obsessed with them too?
You know when that happens?
And then you move to Portland and you and your sister scour the internet for these candles and find out that they’re at a darling little paper and gift store right near your home?
You with me? Thought so.
So surely you know that I’m talking about Botanicus (killer name) candles and some of them come in tins and then some of them come in big glass jars and they. smell. so. good.
My favorite is surely champagne, but fig and lemongrass, boy, they’re all great.
But you already know that.
Also, on a not crazy-​person-​who-​seems-​obsessed-​with-​candles note, Paper Garden is a super great store with beautiful papers, awesome cards, lotions and soaps and such, and just beautiful little things. And they sell molskine there too (but that’s another insane-​person-​rave). They also do invitations and the like and the ladies who work here are super nice and helpful.
