The carts are delicious and have a good variety, however the prices are steeper than you might expect from food carts(that’s where the star was lost). The picnic tables and covering are a nice touch for the rainy and cold days.

This is a great addition to the SW waterfront! A few of the carts have vegan options, and there is a nice variety including bowls, soups, salads, burgers, pizza, and a few other things thrown into the mix. There are plenty of picnic tables to enjoy your meal while you people watch. If you spend anytime here, you will find there is no shortage of subjects! During the day the tables are open to soak up the sun, and in the evening the tents go up to cut down on the wind. Stop by, you will enjoy it!

Enjoy the beauty of the Portland South waterfront and enjoy a tasty meal at one of Portland’s newest food cart pods, The Gantry at Zidell Yards. What is a Gantry? In this case it’s the large overhead, movable structure for supporting and servicing the ships. The massive Gantry sits behind the food cart pod. There is easy access now from the East side of the river via the new Tillikum Crossing for Max, bike or foot traffic. The current food carts featured are Garden Monsters, Hot Box BBQ, Ash Wood Fired Pizza, Neue Southern, Namu Korean-Hawaiian, Home Base Farm Stand and Scout Beer Garden. This food cart pod is continuously evolving and they are starting to add some later evening and weekend hours. There is quite a bit of seating with picnic tables. Parking is a bit tougher. Street metered parking only but it’s free after 7PM. In the future there are plans to add live music by Scout Beer Garden. Come on down and play a game of Cornhole! :-) 2015-108
