British Brush came highly recommended by my neighbor. I was extremely pleased with the flexibility in scheduling the job since my work schedule is so variable. Mark was very professional and took the time to educate me on the proper maintenance of my chimney.
I am very satisfied with the great service both Mark and Holly provided. I will certainly use the services of this company again!

I simply cannot say enough compliments for this Duo! Mark was so efficient and thorough. He took the time to help educate me about my wood stove and even took a quick peek at my pellet stove flue, and let me know when I should have that swept.
He went above and beyond and even inquired to ensure if the cats needed to stay indoors or not.
Such a delight to work with and I have to admit I look forward to booking with them for regular sweeping. Highly recommend this amazing company. It’s rare these days to find a group that is not only interested in providing amazing service but also in being personable and considerate in every interaction!

We have used the British Brush for as long as we have lived in our house. Mark and Holly are wonderful to work with; highly professional, courteous and always prompt. I can’t imagine using anybody else for the service!

We have been using the British Brush Chimney sweep at our house since 2009. We have received great immediate service. It is a husband and wife run team, total local business feel. Mark is very careful to keep is work clean and limited to the area that he is working in. I would and have recommended him to anyone that owns and uses their stove.
What did I learn today? Only three reviews? More of his customers need to write glowing reviews.

Very professional, clean and courteous. Great spring special as well. Highly recommend Mark for your sweeping needs. He thoroughly explained everything and even drew a picture of my broken damper! No sales tactics, just honest business. Holly is super efficient and extremely pleasant!

We’ve used British Brush Chimney Sweep for 15 years. On the first visit, which was Christmas Eve, Mark came out in response to a frantic call: our oil-​burning furnace chimney was shooting flames into the air! He came out and took care of it, risking life and limb by going into the crawl space to fix what needed fixing.
It’s such a treat having Mark, visit. He’s very personable, professional, thorough and honest. His prices are reasonable, and his wife, Holly, who schedules for him, is a doll. What a great asset to Portland!

British Brush has taken care of our chimney since the mid-90’s. We will not use anyone else and have referred their company to our friends and neighbors. The owners, Mark and Holly, are responsive and detailed. Mark has come once a year since we purchased our house years ago. He is always on time, will work with your schedule, and makes sure your house is as clean (if not cleaner) than when he arrived and your fireplace and chimney are pristine. A few years ago, he mentioned that our interior bricks above the firebox were starting to get loose and in ill-​repair — and suggested we have it looked at by a masonry contractor. We did.. and to our horror, the old timbers for our 1940’s home were exposed, above the firebox where we would never have seen, right behind our bedroom wall where the fireplace joins. Had he not seen that change over time — the house and our lives could have been lost. He is not just a brilliant sweep — he looks for any issues re: safety. Mark and Holly have both been amazing to work with! We wish all companies had the ethics and sincerity of British Brush — we will continue to book our annual chimney cleaning with them and tell everyone we can about one of the best companies we have encountered. It is a minor chore to do every year.. but if you have a fireplace that you use and love — there is no one better to take care of it.. .
