Beware. The rents have increased by almost 35% in the past four or five years. For example, an apartment that was $ 1200 in 2010 is now $ 1625. With all the new apartments in the neighborhood you can do better. Much better.

I lived at the Beverly for a short time and feel it is helpful to write a review for those interested. Pros– the apartments are beautiful and very well maintained. The location is excellent and whole foods is your basement. Can’t beat that unless you are watching your spending. Convenience could be costly at times. There’s a gorgeous courtyard with a fireplace and grill and it made for excellent ambience. Access is locked so riff raff does not bother you. The apartments are up on the 4the floor so the sound of the traffic is minimized greatly. The maintenance man nick is always on top of any maintenance needs and does an excellent job in a timely manner. There were two managers in the short time I was there. They were both excellent but it’s difficult to change hands as one person did things one way and the other differently. They were both efficient and helpful though. I never heard the people in the apartments on the side of me but I often heard the pacing of my neighbors upstairs and the cement blocks that make up the outside walkway could get very noisy when people were walking by.(The bedrooms face in towards the walkway). The previous manager Audrey used to house events in the courtyard for tenants and that was a nice way to mingle with your neighbors. The farmers market is directly across the street on Saturdays. Also a plus. Cons-the Beverly is very pricey for the size and space. A one bedroom will run you over $ 1400. The refrigerator and freezer are extremely small and could be described as mini along with the oven. Not conducive to anyone who needs more space for cooking. The cabinet space is also extremely horrible. Forget storing so much as a cereal box in the cabinets because they are too small to fit a standing box. Plan on Purchasing some kind of additional storage for your kitchen. There’s also very limited space for prep work in the kitchen. The heating unit was placed very poorly in the units. It sits above the patio door close to the ceiling and the air blows upward. Very poor planning as it takes a long time to warm up the apartment when your blowing heat directly on to your ceiling. The garbage room is atrocious for such high end properties. It’s locked away in a small room with zero ventilation and is absolutely disgusting! Walking your pet is quite the challenge because it is a long trek from the fourth floor and that task can be quite daunting at times. Expect beggars to be stationed outside whole foods daily and they will accost you on your walks past them. Over the summer many repairs began all at once and were non-stop. It’s nice the grounds are maintained well but it can get frustrating at times. All in all I really enjoyed living at the Beverly. It was a 7 min walk to the max station and located in the middle of many things. My biggest Overall issue was price versus value. Other than that the Beverly was a wonderful place to live and if you can over look the cons then it is a great place to reside!
