I’ve been here all but 5 minutes and was instantly charmed by the apparent owner and her hubby cooking up goodies in the back.
The coffee is legitimately delicious for this sometimes-​snobby coffee drinker.
The prices imo aren’t fantastic, but while I haven’t tried any food yet… I know I’ll be back based on charm .

Portions are perfect for a gal like me, potatoes were a little dry but I got 3 pieces of bacon so #winning! I was starved and looking for a chill spot an this place is PERFECT.
Like a few others have reviewed, know what you’re getting into when you stop in this mom and pop shop. It’s very decent, ran by the SWEETEST owners, and it’s quiet and doesn’t reek of hipster and pretentious foodies.
Will definitely visit here again! :)

My quest for the perfect hot chocolate made a stop in North Tabor while I was killing time prior to looking at an apartment.
I used to live in this area and have been to UFO Pizza and a few of the neighboring places on Glisan but for some reason I had never made it into Sweet Cream Café. I will admit that seeing all the tchotchkes lining the windows make one curious and so I finally went in.
Signs for chai, smoothies, Italian sodas, coffee drinks, Longbottom coffee, and an impressive array of drink flavorings for all the mentioned. Behind the counter, mini tea pots and saucers with faces in their individual «cubby holes» and an elderly Asian couple keeping everything in check. He kind of hides in the back and she is quite vocal but friendly.
The hot chocolate is standard fare, nothing that stood out but it was good. The atmosphere holds you with so much to observe. The menu has breakfast and lunch options but none for me on this day, maybe another time.
I can see why this place stays open, it has a unique charm to it. Stop by.

I love this little café. Not only is it just down the street from me, but it also doesn’t scream «bougie» like a lot of other cafes in the area. It is a quaint little establishment run by a sweet Asian woman named June and her husband. They serve basic breakfast and lunch entrees as well as some mean coffee concoctions — may I suggest the peanut butter mocha? It is super rich but man is it delicious. They do sell coffee to go, FYI.
I have only had some of the more basic menu items, i.e. bagel with cream cheese, BLT, cheeseburger. The food is nothing more than the name and nothing less. If you’re hungry and not looking for something fancy you’ve come to the right place, and you also won’t be charged an arm and a leg. If you’d like to support an honest mom-​and-​pop place, check this place out for breakfast or lunch and you won’t be disappointed — just reminded of how restaurants used to feel when we were younger — no WiFi, no blaring tunes. Just solace, friendly service, and good food and coffee.

Sweet Cream is definitely my favorite spot to grab coffee, breakfast, and a little something to calm my sweet tooth. Great food, great prices — not to mention the owner is ADORABLE and so positive. She makes my day every time :)

I was a bit leery when I walked in to inquire about a quick to go breakfast. OMG, the egg, Ham and Swiss bagel sandwich is by far the BEST I have ever eaten! I took quick bites all the way to Clackamas Town Center and it was still warm when I got to the mall. Truly a delicious sandwich! Looking forward to my next trip out towards Glisan Providence!

I have enjoyed this place so much that I’ve come here for breakfast two days in a row! It’s a quiet, unassuming little place. Nothing fancy, but the service is excellent and the coffee and food are terrific. This isn’t a trendy «Portlandia» kind of place, so you won’t find any green haired, tattooed, wannabe hipsters working or hanging out here. And that’s another reason why this place is awesome!
Try the breakfast bagel sandwiches! They are the best I’ve ever had. Also, this place seems to have a bunch of regular customers, so that’s another reason you know it’s good.

Weird Asian run breakfast place with a quick to the point mannerism that reminded me of a thin Asian Julia child.

However once I received my food… Everything was HOT! I mean amazingly fresh and hot.
Usually I get lukewarm bagel breakfast sandwiches at best, at sub-​par establishments.
The first bite was like tasting heaven on a bagel. It was huge. It had quality ingredients

Fluffy eggs
Real cheddar cheese
On an amazing Asiago bagel.
It was the BEST bagel breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had in my LIFE!!!
And I’ve had them all over the country

Great coffee. The store is not anything to be excited about but the coffee is so great. The scone was one of the best that I have ever had. I higher suggest if you are in the area or on the way to the hospital. It is a good stop and go place.

You won’t find gourmet fare or a huge selection of choices here, but what you will find is a really decent breakfast or lunch, a fun and quirky atmosphere, huge portions, and cheap prices. And sometimes that’s exactly what we want, right?
I’ve had both breakfast and lunch here several times and have been enchanted by the hard-​working lady who runs the place. She greets you with a sweet sing-​song voice that is just sort of adorable. The meatloaf sandwich (side of tasty potato salad, too) is really good, and is so enormous — count on bringing half of it home (it’s just as great straight out of the refrigerator for dinner.) All that for $ 5.50!
I don’t see any problem at all with her no-​laptop policy. It’s a little neighborhood jewel, and I am glad it’s there, just the way it is.

Think of it as having breakfast at your Grandma’s house. Turn off your damn phone, join in on the conversation and have a great meal (without spending a lot of money!)

Let me preface this by mentioning that I truly despise eco-​twee cafes peopled with mustache-​twirling whippersnappers. If you go in for that kind of thing, then don’t bother with this review — or this café, really. I love this place. I just found it five days ago and have been in every day (except Sunday, when it was closed). Yeah, the owner is eccentric — in the best way, actually — but she is extremely kind and respectful (if you don’t open a laptop, apparently, which I didn’t). All she wants to do is feed and caffeinate you and provide you and your friends with a clean, warm atmosphere. Like a mom.
I recommend the breakfast bagels. Maybe avoid the espresso and go for the coffee instead. Keep it simple, and I guarantee you’ll have a pleasant experience. Take note of the wonderfully odd collection of tea and coffee related antiques in the window, and the industrial strength buckets being sold for 95 cents on a chair by the register. This is not a snobby place; it will not earn you cool points on Tinder. What it will be is a place to just have a moment for yourself.
That’s the kind of café I love. Five big stars from me.

The previous negative reviews for this place are hilarious. I’m giving it five stars because folks who piss their pants over not being able to use their laptop are out of line. Yeah the lady who runs the place isn’t the most polite person in the world but if you took a moment to talk to her instead of whining about not being able to facebook you’d learn that she’s actually really sweet and kind (her husband — the cook — is really nice too).
It’s important to remember that they just don’t want to run an internet café — they want to serve decent food and good coffee at rock bottom prices. And this they do. Come here for anything else and be disappointed.

An excellent $ 5 breakfast! Great coffee, quirky cute service, and great food. The veggie scramble (with broccoli, onion and tomato) was very good. Is was served with 3 strips of bacon, a whole toasted bagel and diner style hash browns. The «funny flavor» others spoke of was sesame oil instead of canola, a welcome and subtle asian influence. This place is a neighborhood gem!

This Café is three seconds from my house, and I had really high hopes for it when I walked in. Very cute décor and a decent menu, so my friend and I settled down at a table for a relaxing breakfast. Relaxing… HA. Within 2 minutes, the Asian lady mentioned in so many other reviews had asked us multiple times if we were ready to order. Way too attentive… thankfully we hadn’t brought our laptops, or else I’m sure we would have dealt with that joyous exchange described by other patrons.
Service was 1 star, but the food made up for it. The egg and cheese on a bagel was fantastic enough to (almost) convince me to come back here, but I will have to make certain I’m ready to order within 0.2 milliseconds. Good for an in and out breakfast or coffee.

I would love to have experienced the singing that others note but instead as I approached the counter, the older asian woman behind the counter seeing my laptop bag said, «i just want to make sure, this is no laptop café». I was confused at first and assumed she meant there was no wi-​fi but then she said it again in kind of a forceful way. Bad customer service right off the bat. I don’t go places with service like this. Period. But maybe thinking I had misunderstood her, I asked «Do you mean I can’t use my laptop AT ALL?» and she said that was true.
Ok, it’s a café. People like me spend a lot of money and time patronizing places like this around Portland. I took my perfectly good $ 12.50 less than a block away to Seven Virtues where I now sit writing this review. Shame on you, Sweet Cream. I’m not sure what you are trying to prove by discriminating against your customers based on their technological provocations and I don’t care. You only proved that your competition is more deserving of my money.

Ditto! Seriously. What everyone else is saying. I guess I should have read the reviews before going in here. It was a whim ok? I’ve seen this place driving by a billion times, and we needed a quick eggs and toast breakfast before getting on the road. I thought the name of the place referred to something yummy inside.
The little woman (I mean this in a respectful, as well as a descriptive way) was as sweet as could be. She sings the orders to the cook in the back there, especially I noticed, when folks wanted pancakes. I ordered those and a couple of eggs. Everything came out in a fairly reasonable time but it was like getting those fake plastic foods that little kids use in their little fake kitchens as toys. The food tasted like nothing. It was like «air» food. No flavor. Very strange. The little pancakes were nuked so they came in a package in the freezer, to the microwave, and then on your plate.
I feel I need to explain why 3 stars instead of 2. Coffee was fine. Place is clean. Staff are friendly.
I thought the name of the place was going to mean something. Nice marketing. It has as much meaning as Sour Cream Café. No reflection at all to the food, either way.

The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because of the cute couple who run the place. The woman takes your order and sings it back to her husband in the kitchen, and she’s simply adorable.
The food on the other hand, is TERRIBLE! I went in for breakfast after staying at a friend’s house just down the street. The coffee was good, and the toast was cooked perfectly and not over buttered. The omelet, on the other hand, was runny and had a funny flavor to it, the hashbrowns were dry and flavorless, and the bacon microwaved. In fact, I’m pretty sure everything on my plate (aside from the toast) was microwaved, including the plate. I had two bites of everything, just to be sure I couldn’t eat it, and there was no way I could even try. I left after finishing my toast and went home to cook some eggs and potatoes.
I may go back for coffee, just to be entertained by the woman, but I will never make the mistake of eating the food here again.
