Really good hot chocolate and scones! My husband and I go here often. Centrally located and so delicious. The owner is friendly too. I just tried their ginger peach muffins which are amazing, a must try for fall!

Best. Espresso. Brownie. EVERRR! My boyfriend went to Portland pre-me and apparently had the best brownie ever. He told me about it a few times and how he wanted to go back and get some more. I am famous for my sweet tooth so, although I like sweets, it’s pretty hard to impress me. I didn’t doubt that the brownie was good but wasn’t quite to the point that it could be THAT good. So, when we were planning out next little trip, the trip revolved around the brownie. We flew from L.A. so that we could go back and see if the brownie place was still there and if it was really THAT good. It was. He couldn’t remember the name but he remembered landmarks– like Restoration Hardware across the street. I’m pretty good at finding stuff(I really should be a P.I.) and of course found it. As we were walking up, I swear I could feel him shaking from excitement. But I could also tell that he was trying to hold it back as he was afraid of getting disappointed. What if the brownie wasn’t really that good? We crossed the street to the little stand and anxiously awaited for the people in front of of us to finish ordering. When it was our turn, it was a big womp, womp, womp. Because it was hot that day(80 degrees– in Portland!!!), they didn’t make it. Brownies didn’t sell in hot weather. Shane, the guy at the stand, was super nice and told us that if we promised to come back, he will have some ready for us the following day. And so we went back. And he had brownies. And THE. BEST. BROWNIES. EVER. The Boyfriend purchased three: one for each of us and another for my friend. My friend ate hers. He ate his on the way down to a chocolate shop down the block. He finished a brownie in less than fifteen minutes. And so he bought another one on our way back up. I don’t even know how to describe the brownies. It’s sweet, but not to sweet. There is a sweet, slightly bitter(from the espresso) taste but it’s almost an after taste. It’s gooey in the middle and lightly flaky on top. It was really delicious. I have high standards when it comes to sweets and this was definitely the best brownie I have ever had.

Three is not a bad review. Not sure why ppl defend three stars as if they are panning a place. It means a-ok. Got a chai latte here and it was good not overly sweet. The hub got lemonade and it was good. The barista was competent and professional. It was about six bucks. It’s a cute little shack. If I lived here I would go there. If I lived closer to another small business coffee shop I’d go there. This place is good.

Really, really tasty hot chocolate that was oh so creamy. On a fairly cold day, this was a good stop along the way on my way through Nob Hill. Short and sweet. Enjoy!

I dropped by because I was walking my dogs and don’t like leaving them outside a shop alone. I got a mocha and a strawberry white chocolate muffin. I am pretty particular about my sweets and the muffin was AMAZING. The coffee was really good too and the barista was super friendly and awesome. The coffee is a little more expensive than Starbucks, but was better than any chains I’ve been too. The baked goods were less expensive than usual(I think 1.75 for the muffin) and since they are so delicious, the cost balances out in the end and the quality is much better.

Owner contacted me and told me to return and said my coffee should have never tasted acidic. Went back, had the same coffee and it was delish! Nicely done.

I visit Sunny Day Coffee regularly & have never been let down. The folks that work here are always super friendly & easy to chat with. I generally stick to my vanilla soy latte, but on occasion go for a chai– & the chai has the perfect amount of spice to it. & any pastry you get will be delicious, all baked the morning of with just enough love added to them. I love Sunny Day Coffee.

With all the hype surrounding Pumpkin Lattes I decided to give it a try. I went to Starbucks and asked for ½ a shot — Overpowering sweetness that lacked the fresh, warm and distinctive flavors that come with a pumpkin pie. I timidly walked-up to Sunny Day Coffee Cart to try this concoction again. The latte’s aroma was warm and fragrant and tasted of pumpkin without the artificial taste. I left with a dollop of whip cream and a spring in my step.

Small little shack on the street that seems to have a good amount of customers. I only had the prickly pear lemonade so my review is based off of that. For $ 3.25 or so I thought it was a bit expensive for the small(12oz?) size. The drink just tasted like regular lemonade as well. It was pink like prickly pear but that’s about it. Other people seem to like this place though.

I have been thinking about the Hemp Milk Latte I had at Sunny Day’s for weeks now. It was delightful and perfect! I’ve been drinking soy au laits and lattes for over 8 years so I was very excited to try something different like Hemp milk. The barista was very knowledgeable about coffee and the execution of each cup is definitely worth the wait. Hands down one of my best coffee experiences, ever!

This little coffee cart has fresh baked treats, good coffee, non-soy dairy alternatives… this place is my personal caffeine wet dream. The staff is friendly and remembered me after a few rather infrequent visits. There is a small area of covered outdoor seating. Perfect for picking up a drink while shopping around 23rd.

I was walking by in the middle of the day and decided to get a coffee at the last minute but what I wasn’t expecting was a warm, right out of the oven chocolate chip cookie. I like the coffee here a lot, not sure what type it is. I have gone here on various mornings and have tried many of the baked goods and all were delicious. The best part about it is on any given morning you can get something that was just baked. I am so happy I live right near this small coffee spot.

You know how sometimes you don’t see what’s right in front of you? That’s how it’s been with me and Sunny Day for the past year. I walk out of my apartment, and BAM, there’s Sunny Day. Yet somehow I didn’t really SEE it until Arctic Blast 08 when I was determined to travel no more than 2 blocks from my house for any necessities. Since then it’s become a regular stop when I’m in need of coffee on the go. The owner is one of the friendliest, silliest guys I’ve ever met, always fun to chat with while he prepares my latte. And his pastries are damn good, and all made on site in that little stand. If he has cheddar onion scones when you stop by, get one. It’s the cheddariest scone I’ve ever had. Every pastry I’ve ever had here has been good, but I lust after those cheddar scones. Oh, and it’s just a little coffee stand, but he has a little seating area off to the side for when the nice weather comes back.

Next time it snows/hails/freezing rains/rains on you or even not, head here for that little ray of sunshine lining to brighten up your day. This little sliver of warmth is on the corner right next to Typhoon! It’s a quaint wooden stand with a chalkboard announcing it’s specials and a serving window that leaves you salivating and with more baked goods in your bag than you ever meant to buy. One this cold cold day, my friend & I opted for the caramel apple cider & chai latte. The chai was made from scratch. It was lightly spcied and not overly sweet as some from mixes are. The caramel apple cider was intensely apple. It was like they squished the essense of 15 lbs of apples into one cup. It was perfect. The barista was sweet and friendly despite the busy-ness. Skip that Starbucks(or several) down the street and stop by here instead. Who can really resist a sign that says«Freshly baked goods daily» in fun colors.
