I had a similar experience as CJ describes below. As I was interviewing therapists and psychologists, I came across Goldsmith’s book«The Healing Paradox», about nutrition and herbal medicine. I was curious and also impressed with his education and experience. During our very first meeting, before he allowed any conversation, I had to pay him $ 175 dollars. Furthermore, what was most uncomfortable was that he did the transaction(as in, swiped my card) right in front of me before he would begin any conversation with me. Most therapists will at least let you get a short informational interview in to see if you fit before charging you a ton of money – so you have some information on the potential result. You need to know what you are paying money for. It felt really unprofessional – he had a charlatan feel. I decided not to return to him based on a strong feeling that it seemed he cared more about money-grubbing and less about the impact of his work.

I had a horrible experience with this«doctor». He baited me into meeting with him for four hours(over 3 sessions) with the promise that he would then provide me with a homeopathic prescription that I would fill. His treatment plan was to observe my symptoms every few weeks for several months while I took the prescription. BOTTOMLINE: After the 5th meeting with him, he wouldn’t tell me what the homeopathic medicine was that he wanted to prescribe. He wanted me to take his prescription blind as to what I was taking. Only a complete idiot would do this unless they had committed INADVANCE to a FREEBLINDTEST. Meanwhile, he billed my insurance and me for his time. DONOTTRUST this man. Buyer beware.
