Staver Locomotives

Disclaimer: I live in Oakland and totally failed to find this neighborhood sketchy at all. Do the locals know something I don’t?
That said, I love the high ceilings and the open atmosphere at Staver Locomotives. It’s airy and when strung with fairy lights, quite festive!
I didn’t see any locomotives, but I’m guessing they were packed up and out of the way for the event I was attending. The tracks were still out though!

I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen a 5-​star warehouse before… and granted you’ll have to travel to the middle of Industrial NW Portland (I.e. sketchy-​McSketchville) to find this one, but I assure you that you too will be a believer… of 5-stars…for an empty warehouse.
Let me explain. Yolanda Moisa is a display genius, which is essential for a «that’s good enough» type like yours truly. She utilizes this space for a number of different events, including this weekend’s CRAVE party, and next weekend’s P: ear mentor auction, which is a program that mentors homeless youth. And boy, does she know how to do it right.
This space also hosts free monthly exhibitions of model steam locomotives, which is fun for the lil conductors among us. (Yes, I said free. Bookmark that parents!)
A 5-​star empty warehouse. There is a first for everything!
