This is my new hang! I go here every day, just about since I started doing childcare for a 16-month old who lives just down the street past downtown St Johns. Adjacent to the community center, the park is big and fairly sprawling. A big play structure(Carson is still a little too little for that), swings, one of them roundabout things you make go with your feet(everyone loves that). There used to be a water thingy, now it’s kind of a skate park, There used to be tetherball — why isn’t there still??? Lots of trees for us to find shade under. At least two of them are most excellent climbing trees from what I’ve witnessed! Lots of kids and moms, some dads, Not too many dogs off leashes. I like this place… Come find me around 1:30/2pm every weekday!

Very clean well kept park and nice play area for children. The community center is really nice and has a lot to offer. One of the most fantastic preschool teachers ever teacher Patty works there and if your looking for a preschool to send your little one to I HIGHLYRECOMMEND sending them here.

In childhood this park hosted many little league baseball games along with Busy Kids and some of the other area facilities. Many of the big steel and concrete toys and jungle gyms are gone now, due to limited municipal funding. That, and the fact that there is no longer any such thing as your kid having an accident while playing on the monkey bars; a child’s natural carelessness, plus a parent’s lack of attentiveness equals megabuck$ payday to dipsh*t parents capitalizing on said, usually completely avoidable misfortune. Some brave new world we live in, hey? No longer should we bother to teach our kids to work hard and strive for their dreams. Just wait for calamity to strike, and capitalize… hey this kind of attorney need to eat, too!!! Interesting side note: the only auto-generated«fill in the blank» optional tip question for this park that appeared is: «Good for Kids»… I honestly have no idea how to respond. So I answered«Not Sure»… what would be YOUR answer???

This little park, just a few blocks off of N. Lombard finds it’s way in my path almost daily. It’s the closest park to me without a steep climb, but there isn’t a whole lot here. Well, there is a lot here, just not a gigantic beautiful bridge or river. There is a community center, complete with classes, after school programs, and a large gym for basketball and other activities. They do movies in the summer here, as well as a few other events. There is some playground equipment, and a baseball field/open field as well. This is not a dog park, and I wish there was a way to report people that treat it as such. I bring my dog here on a leash, and large dogs without collars charging towards me isn’t cool, my dog doesn’t like it either. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it happens.
