Loved this bar when I saw Pillow Talk! I only wish they would have more venues like this. The floor DJ set up that moves to the stage act was an awesome touch. Really engages the whole bar. Keep it up!

Came here after a delicious dinner to relax a bit. I really dig the environment and design. Pretty chill, laid back, local art pieces on the wall, and local artists doing live music. Even though I’m not a local, I definitely like a place that supports theirs. I liked the upstairs loft area where they had seating and a view of the dance floor and whatever live music is going on that night. Can’t speak much for the drinks since I didn’t have any, but my husband didn’t complain about his.

Love happy hour on food and drink downtown! Especially when the drinks are super strong! And even more when it goes to 8 pm. We wanted sliders, but they were out. The nachos were delicious! They have a vegan version too. The hummus was mediocre –not much flavor and the olive tapenade basically saved the dish. Other than grilled cheese, the rest was basically snacks. Bartender was friendly and tried to find drink ideas for us with Fireball, which was awesome! I would love to come see a show here.

The Someday Lounge is a classy little venue with a nice stage. There’s a cozy upstairs area with good seating and a good view of the stage. The curtain and the high stage makes the bands look like stars. It’s a great atmosphere here and I really enjoyed playing this spot. The sound crew took great care of us and the bartenders are great too. Also, the bathrooms are clean, which is always a great treat at any small music venue. I got to try their Chan Chan cuban-style sandwich, which was very tasty. It’s a great location, being next to Backspace and around the corner from Ground Kontrol. I’d love to come back here to play and to see more shows.

Quaint, decent location, modern décor, excellent drinks. They have happy hour until late and is a pretty cool intimate venue for music. They have an upstairs area and some additional seating outside. The staff is great and the prices are decent. My Old Fashioned yesterday was made with super fresh ingredients and the best rye bourbon they had. Only $ 7! It was crisp, strong, and delish. I felt bad for the one bartender behind the bar. The place was crowded and it was only him working that area. He did a fantastic job though!

Nice quaint venue. Mix it up between the lounge & the Internet Café.

I generally like the atmosphere and the entertainment here. The bartenders never seem to be in the greatest or most talkative of moods, but their signature cocktails are very well made. My preference: the Someday Old Fashioned. Delicious. Would be 5 stars if the employees seemed to be actually enjoying their jobs(perhaps I’ve just had the misfortune of going in whenever the bartender is having a bad day).

I had such a great time at this place! I have walked by on many occasions but had never been inside. I finally had my opportunity to visit! It’s located on the brink of Chinatown, right by Backspace. Parking can be a bit of a headache. Street parking goes fast and there are numerous pay lots that also fill up quickly. Generally there’s a cover charge, but it will depend on the night. Inside they have two levels. Downstairs — main bar, tables, a stage and then open space for dancing it up. Upstairs — mini bar, lounge space and bathrooms. I went there for their White Party; a dance party where people dressed in bring whites(hence the name) and then there were black lights to really make the place glow. Pretty awesome line up that featured El Capitan, Manoj, Solovox and Mr. Wu. I was able to dance up a storm till dawn and left ready for more! I know this place is open for booking events. Might be a good one to consider since it’s a pretty ideal location and a good amount of space!

This was my first time here. I liked the lounge very much. Stone walls and an industrial feel to it. My one complaint was the concert was so loud I ended up shouting to my friends all night and I feel like I lost part of my hearing since I still feel like my ears are ringing. The drinks were good. I had a Greyhound which tasted very fresh and good. The downside was there was only one bartender for 200 people which created lines. I didn’t try the food because it was really crowded. Overall, a good time just turn the speakers down a notch.

What? I haven’t reviewed Someday Lounge yet? For shame! I really dig this venue. It’s a great space — big enough yet still intimate. The sound is well dialed in. The spirits selection is better than your average venue. The food is vegan and tasty! And those are all good things. But what I really like about the Someday is the content. The Someday Lounge logo has a little tagline that says Viva L’Arte. Normally I’d take this as contrived or fancy schmancy, but one look at the eclectic lineup here and it’s obvious that Someday is not just trying to play it safe and pander to the mainstream. Whether it’s an experimental incubator, live non-music performance acts, a ninja metal bad, interpretive dance, renowned DJ’s, a monthly hip-hop(not mainstream) night, or whatever… the name of the game is variety. And for that, above all else, I give them props. The viewing public Portland can be very fickle. Or should I say lazy. Yeah, that’s a better word. Or maybe apathetic? I used to throw parties in this town at various venues and clubs and motivating the PDX crowd can be so hard to do sometimes. Which is why stepping outside the envelope of what you know will be successful can really take balls. And Someday has those balls. I’ve been for various random shows and seen this place both packed and empty. I’m sure he could fill the spot 7 days a week playing it safe and sticking to mainstream entertainment. But there’s plenty of that in Old Town. I’d much rather have a spot with a varying lineup. And good booze. And an intimate feel. And Someday has that.

Oh Someday Lounge… I used to love you. Here is why… 1) The upstairs lounge was cozy and perfect for people watching. Last few times I’ve been to Someday, the lounge has been«reserved» but empty… boo. 2) I used to go to «Ante up» for some good hip hop. Last few times I’ve gone… the place was empty and the music was subpar. 3) I also used to go to «The Fix» on Thursdays because the music was good(djs spun vinyl records) and the crowd was great especially for Thursdays. Currently, the place is dead on Thursdays. So dead that the«dance floor» is actually where the dj spins and tables/chairs are scattered around. And the music is… oh wait a minute, I don’t think they do «The Fix» anymore. If they do it is monthly not weekly. On the upside, drinks are cheap and strong.

Went on a Friday night and, as to be expected, it was pretty packed. I was dressed-up but felt woefully out-of-place. Got nothing against the hipsters, so why do they give the evil eye to anyone not wearing skinny jeans, chunky glasses, and not wear any deodorant and push and shove? Saw two bands; first one was OK, second was better. People closer to the stage were talking loudly(as said bands were playing loud, which is expected — it is live music), but I watch live shows to hear the music — not to hear people shouting to talk. Was there an hour or two before they brought out another bartender; by that point, line was 5 – 6 people deep. Drinks were OK; a little pricey except for the specials, which were cheap.

I am not a huge fan of this space but I have hope it could be really cool. The shell of it is quite nice — brick with a great stage and a perfect layout but nothing seems comfortable or artsy enough to be uncomfortable. It is like they got furniture and promptly broke it so you sink too far in the couch or your ass hurts because the chair is off kilter. The lighting is too dark in some places yet too bright in others. The drinks are good but during crowded nights one bartender is just ridiculous and that is what seems to happen whenever I am there leaving me standing in a small line forever. This always causes me to order my first drink, sip on it very slowly until I want to leave since I have no desire to stand in line half the night just for a second drink… no drink is that good.

Hmm, Portland may be the spot The town is Seattle’s smaller, cleaner, hotter sister. And this venue seems to be the same equivalent to most Seattle venues. Good floor space that includes some seating. Loft area with seating which helps with space and the view of the stage. Stage is pretty good sized, so probably get a lot of good mid-major type indie bands. Sound is quite good(relative to most clubs the same size). There is a curtain for the stage which is kind of baller. The entrance has these big wooden doors that seem like they belong on a castle … i like that! The staff is quite friendly and accomodating.

Best. vanilla vodka and ginger ale. ever. Period. Seriously, I’ve never had one with fresh ginger grated into it and muddled, and it took a simple well drink to a whole new level! Although I’m no longer a strict vegetarian, I still love a great veg*n friendly establishment. I also had a sandwich with portobella mushrooms and mozzerella, and it was delish and filling, even though I didn’t eat the bread(gluten intolerance– I’m sure it was yummy too). The bartender was none other than the owner himself. I’m a Seattleite, and I was visiting Portland for the first time as a legal-drinking age adult(I know, sad, considering I’ve been of age for a few years). The owner made me feel really welcome and gave me some good tips on things to do and places to go in PDX. The space is beautiful– high ceilings, a lot of classy dark wood. It seemed almost incongruent that there were lots of sports fans congregating there– definitely more of a place you’d take a date than a rowdy sports bar. I think it was a big sports night for Portland teams in general though, or maybe that’s just the flavor of that particular part of town. Either way, next time I’m in the city, I will definitely be back for another one of those unforgettable vanilla vodka & ginger ales with fresh ginger!

When Someday hosted a Unilocal event not only did they leave a 5 star impression on me as a lovely bar but the meatball sandwich nuzzled into my heart and my subconscious. Months pasted and it would pop back up, only it was slowly getting stronger. Then it got to the point where after a few drinks I would start rambling to my friends about this glorious vegetarian meatball sandwich. That and Thanksgiving… I am really WAY to food oriented. On First Thursday my friend and I met at Someday Lounge to kick off our evening. Normally happy hour here goes till 8 daily, however every Thursday they are kind enough to extend that till 11. Upon arrival I didn’t even have to look at the menu, MEATBALLSANDWICHPLEASE, I’m almost sure that there were hearts in my eyes and I was drooling at the point of ordering. We took a seat, I glanced with excitement at the kitchen every few moments and sipped my $ 1 Tecate. In no time at all they zipped our food out to us. I woofed the it down with a smile, delicious, just like I remembered it. I was a little grossed out my all the mayonnaise. I really think the sandwich could’ve gone without it. For now the craving is gone but I’m sure it’ll sneak back up, next time I’ll order it sans mayo. After a trip around art walk we ended up back were we began, Someday Lounge. By this time Hip Hop night had jumped off, and we hit the dance floor in a big way. Every Thursday they host an amazing Hip Hop night. The DJ was playing a lot of Throw Back jams which was thrilled about. Even if your not so much into the dancing aspect it’s a beautiful bar to relax in. The upstairs area in particular is very intimate and away from the hustle and bustle of the bar area. For those of you with some Rap game, UGK might say this place got front back, side to side. And for all the rest, from Food and Bevz to Entertainment and Ambiance, Somedays got it on lock down.

It’s Tuesday night. You’re home from work, and about to veg out. Ah but don’t put on your pajammies just yet! Straight from the website regarding Tuesday nights: «Adaptations, permutations, accelerations, and a diverse range of thrills, chills and spills nurtured in the recesses and corners shall be stripped from their crevices to razzle dazzle.» If that sentence doesn’t piqué your interest, you don’t appreciate the English language. My point: I was razzle dazzled. The shows are creative. Sure, you can argue about the amount of talent each person has. but you have to give them credit for having the balls to perform for you. The first show I saw was an amateur burlesque type of lady doing fun dances with N64 controllers. Her being absolutely adorable kept my interest. Then there were a few musicians, all pretty damn good. ranging from 80s covers to goth rock. The most amazing part of the night: the artist. So as the performers are on stage, there’s a brilliant artist with his macbook creating masterpieces that are projected on the huge background behind them. He starts with a blank background and as the show goes on, uses the music and the performance to improv a piece. I’m not sure what the program he uses is called. but everything he created was masterful, and I enjoyed every minute watching it. The bartender was fantastic! A machine of efficiency(and pretty cute, too), this man had everyone there getting tipsy without a moment’s wait. He heard one of my drinks wrong(whiskey soda instead of whiskey sour) so he comped off $ 2 for my next sour. I couldn’t help but just give it right back to him. this man deserves your tips. The lady leading the show, announcing the performers, was hot stuff with her cute pink dreads and pretty entertaining. She made you feel comfortable and welcome. It’s unusual that you can walk into a very chic, trendy bar without feeling like you should know everything. but she’s so laid back and interactive with the audience, you’ll feel right at home. And the venue’s gorgeous, if that still needs mentioning. Great sound. Go go gadget on a Tuesday night.

Made it here for a recent Cuban Dance Party. My favorite casino teachers/group Rumbanana(of «What Time Do You Want Your Mama Home» fame) were there to give a basic salsa lesson(I was a little late for this) & a Casino Rueda performance(they rocked). After that, the PDX band Cana Son took the stage with Cuban guest Dina Martinez. They rocked and I jammed a bit, then was asked to dance, and I awkwardly took the floor. It was hella fun. Someday Lounge was nice I liked the modern wooden décor(I want a simplistic piece of lumber as a coffee table. Had some nice drinks. The layout is pretty good for an intimate night with your favorite band. Let’s have another Cuban Dance Party!
