Snow Dee-Lite

This isn’t shave ice, it’s a snow cone. It’s a cart on wheels by the swimming pool. It’s expensive and not worth big chunky ice masquerading as shave ice. Skip it.

Here’s the thing… I really love this snowcone stand… I just can’t stand the staff. The snowcones themselves are delicious and reasonably priced — only $ 2.00 for a small which comes with two flavors as stated on the sign. $ 2.50 gets you a medium with three flavors. I live close by so every few days in summer I wander down and purchase some a cone. I’m there a lot, but the staff doesn’t seem to notice and usually doesn’t strike up any conversation besides «What size?» and then «What flavors?». Today I stated my two flavors and then asked if I could try a little raspberry too…
«An extra flavor is $ 0.25 more.»
«I only have $ 2.00 but maybe you could just put less of the other two and just a bit of the raspberry so I could try it?»
«I can’t do that. My manager has rules and if I do that all the OTHER kids will think they can have that too.»

Alright, I guess this girl made her point. But I’m 24, and it looks like this girl’s in high school, so I’m not sure what other kids she’s talking about… perhaps other bratty 24 year old children.
Anyways, even though I had a lovely snow cone to enjoy afterwards, this interaction made my day worse.
Sure, buy a snow cone, but don’t expect any kindness or customer service to come with it.
