This See’s Candy in the Washington Square Mall is the exemplar of a well run mall store. They give lots of samples, have plenty of their main items, cashiers are friendly and there are a countless variety of chocolate truffles to be found. Lines can be a little slow, but it’s all worth it for the good chocolate. Every now and then, a See’s Candy is what does it for me. A sample was given when I walked in and again when I purchased. I had a Chocolate Bordeaux, a creamy chocolate with brown sugar. It was delicious. Waiting was a little long, though the person behind was kind enough to let me order first. Still, the prices are low and they offer chocolate lollipops for less than a dollar. Come on into See’s Candy if you want some chocolate.

If I have a last minute occasion to go to, I always get a box of See’s Candies. They taste great and presentation is great also! Love this place!

Tasty, reasonably priced chocolates. I will grab a custom pound to take to my family around the holidays. I like the walnut squares and chocolate chip truffles. I just dropped in before Valentines Day and picked up an 8 pack of Walnut Square candy bars– so good. I tried the cinnamon hearts and they were awesome.

Yummy good chocolate. Always love there stuff. They usually ask people if they would like a free sample. Today they asked the people in front of me at the cashier if they would like one and of course they said yes. By the time she rang up me up I was so ready for my free sample, but guess what she didn’t ask me if I would like one. Super bummer, especially since I bought 3 boxes of chocolate., but not going to mark them down since some employees aren’t as friendly as others. I guess I could have asked for my free sample, but then it’s just not the same.

This Sees I have been going to since I was a child. Whenever we went to the mall our mom would stop by here and pick us up one of those suckers. You know the ones the square ones that are oh so yummy. My usual was the chocolate… yea thats a shocker. I occasionally get something other than a sucker… At Christmas time they had a wonderful selection of sugar free tid bits I picked up for the diabetics in the family. The ladies that work there are always helpful and willing to give you a sample of what you are interested in. I am kinda picky when it comes to sugar since I dont eat it often. They are willing to help me out and answer all questions I may have… I recommend if you are at the mall… stop by… say hello to the wonderful ladies and try a treat.

You know — I just love Sees and must say they always have such great staff here. Without thinking about it I decided to come here to pickup chocolates for my mother in law the weekend before Easter. I saw the insane line and rolled my eyes but alas, I went through it smoking fast since the staff are so on top of everything! She even remembered to offer me a sample :) Their chocolates are pretty awesome as well!

I love See’s chocolates — they are the best, and putting together your own assortment of your favorites is marvelous decadence. Going into the store and getting the free sample while you think over what you want is a lovely treat, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I’d start listing my favorites, but seriously? Go. Try. Find your own favorites — they’ll have something for you to love.

Darn you See’s candies and your delicious chocolate! I seriously cannot avoid this place for the life of me any time I pass by it at the mall. Their free samples get you every time. EVERY time. Their white chocolate hard toffee with coconut… O.M.G. I think it’s called the cashew brittle. I manage to only allow myself to buy two but then I saw they also came in a bag and was very tempted. It’s a great little stop for ‘thank you’ gifts or a gift in general for any chocolate lover. They have pre-made chocolate boxes with different varities and sizes. They also have bagged options and of course single chocolate options. My suggestions, AKA faves: Toffee-ettes and the Cashew Brittle Sugar free peanut brittle! Or the ‘Awesome’ peanut brittle bars. Root beer lollypops Pecan Buds California Crunch Molasses Chips Dark Cocoanut Cream truffle You can also order from their website! YUM!

Simple pleasures are sometimes the best. Every year around Christmas and Valentine’s Day I would go to this store(or the Clackamas location) and buy chocolates for my grandmother. Like her daughter and granddaugher, she had a sweet tooth! As long as I can remember she always had just one piece of chocolate every day. I can’t be trusted around chocolate, so I was astounded by her restraint. And although she liked many of their varieties, in the later part of her life I always bought her a box of the Soft Centers. See’s was one of the original chocolatiers and I remember going to their stores when I was growing up. My favorite item was the molasses chips. Now that my grandmother has passed, I still go around Christmas and buy my children the gold coin chocolates to put in their stockings. I absolutely love family traditions and this is one of my fondest. I can’t ever pass a store without thinking of my grandmother. The uniforms(ultra-bright white with black piping) haven’t changed and I don’t think they ever will. Fancier chocolate boutiques have proliferated in the past ten years and when I buy chocolate for myself I tend to head toward Cacao, but there is something to be said for the place that started it all.
