Good wine flights. My friend and I each had a flight of 3 Pinot Noirs which were affordable and tasty. The big plate of popcorn is rich and cheesy, the cheese platter has plenty of interactive nibbles and some creative additions, like salted marcona almonds and fresh currant berries. The beef lettuce wraps were interactive too, like a little craft project at our table, and the beef was juicy with a Korean BBQ flavor. Friendly service, and the rocking chairs on the sunny sidewalk were a relaxed spot to munch on delicacies at the end of the day.

I really enjoyed this wine bar. A nice winery setting. We were able to sit in the cellar area by the big wine barrels. The server was knowledgable. We ordered HH wine, as well as flights of wine. For food, we went with the delicious popcorn and then an amazing asparagus/fromage bruschetta– a definite must.

This little hole in the wall is outstanding. The selection of Pinot Noirs is remarkable. The $ 10 flight is a great deal!

I’m used to hanging out at the SE Whine Collective(what I refer to as anywhere in my house when my spoiled, whiny cats are nearby). But every once in a while, I stop in to SE Wine Collective, which is a much more enjoyable experience. I trade in incessant meowing for a chill, industrial atmosphere, an eclectic selection of local and international wines, and friendly, down to earth folks. This little collective has been going strong for years. It’s home to several urban winemakers as well as a wine bar, where said wines are offered alongside a curated selection of the owners’ favorites from around the world. There are also some small plates. The feel is very much warehouse-chic, and the bar itself is tight and cozy. There are a few outside tables in the summer, and the space inside offers maybe 7 tables and a 5? seat bar. Pours here are relatively inexpensive compared to most wine bars. The folks pouring are knowledgable and, most importantly, not pretentious. That matters. A lot. For a low-key glass of wine with friends in SEPDX, this is a great spot.

Received a gift certificate from my daughter and son in-law for Christmas. While visiting Portland this past week we went to try this place out. Small place not a lot of seating in the bar area. Had to wait over thirty minutes to be seated. Left our phone number but never received a call back when a table was available. Finally got seated. No tasting of wines unless the bottle is already open. Seems weird paying for a full bottle without even tasting it first. Food was mediocre, nothing to write home about except the brussels sprout salad was tasty. Wine was only par.

Insultingly expensive mediocre to bad wine. We tried a Chardonnay, a Tempranillo and a Riesling. The first two were just okay. The Riesling was undrinkable(unanimous agreement by all four people who tried it). Beware of the first price on the menu, which seems reasonable for a glass, but is actually for a small taste of wine. The cheapest glass of wine is $ 13, and it’s not a very generous pour. Too bad, as it’s a cute neighborhood place that I was prepared to like.

I was here for a private event. The food was outstanding, and the service was impressive! Very professional, friendly, and high-quality. I don’t drink wine, but I enjoyed the food immensely and the IPA was good.

Yaaaasssss a wine bar that gets it. I love wine. I love interesting and varied wines. I love good food, especially yummy snackums. SE Wine Collective why can’t you be in my city? Really wanted to do a wine flight while in Portland because, well, it’s Oregon. After probably an hour of searching and even asking around I finally settled on this place, which no one had heard of. Their mistake. What’s particularly cool is that you walk — just for a second — through the cask storage to get to the wine bar itself. The bar is perfect: cozy yet roomy, intimate yet not stuffy. The somm(?) was kind enough to put together a handpicked flight of all reds. Oh, and the $ 5 happy hour chicken liver mousse with pickled onions and cherries was DABOMB. My only regret is that I didn’t have a buddy to help me order more. Perfect date or quiet friend hang spot!

What a great wine bar in the SE! The service in here is solid and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. I didn’t explore too much of their menu, but the Roasted Delicata Squah was on point!

If I went to spas, which I don’t. But IF I did. It would have to be very much like SE Wine Collective, otherwise I’d be very disappointed. Prepare to be the most relaxed while eating some of the tastiest food while drinking some amazingly fabulous wine(and getting some serious education on wines while this is all happening). These people know what they’re doing. Also, finish up your lovely time here with the half baked cookie, it’s a must.

One of the best places to become a wine club member. I’m not really too much into tap wine but they have a Pinot on tap that is amazing. Beyond that, the membership is quite affordable and they wines are amazing considering you now getting wines from three different wine makers compared from one winery. I’ll look forward to being a member this year.

Met up with a group of friends on Sunday to give the Collective a second chance after a not so great experience in June(all service related, see June review for specifics) and we are so happy that we did! The food was exceptional, the wine delightful, and the service was great. The unique flavors of the food really stood out and the many flights available allowed us all to enjoy numerous wines without breaking the bank. Thank you, Kate, Liz, and Josh for a wonderful evening — we will definitely be back!

SEWC isn’t the biggest establishment, but they pack in a carefully selected menu of wines and food for locals on any day but Tuesday. On a Wednesday before Labor Day I saddled up to the bar and dove into their $ 15 tasting of 4 different Oregon pinots. The Ore Winery 2013 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills was my favorite, but the bartender’s careful descriptions and supply of a large glass bottle of water allowed me to experience each fully. The menu includes lighter food to accompany the variety of white and red wines available, with a few on tap. You can take any bottle or growler home for $ 15 off the list price. With neighbors like Pok Pok and Salt & Straw, SEWC holds their own both on a block of destinations and in a town with urban wineries/tastings rooms to highlight the best of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Limited parking means that you might have to walk a couple of blocks, but that shouldn’t bother you, as this gem is worth the walk.

Our first time here. Amazing experience. We had a number of flights and a few by the glass. Very well thought out menu. We also tried the deviled eggs, meat and cheese board and the duck confit and burrata. All excellent choices. The service was knowledgable and promp. The space, is comfortable and gorgeous. We will definitely be back!

A friend and I stopped in here late on a Saturday afternoon for a tasting. Before I even looked at the menu I saw a separate menu that had a «bubbly tasting» for $ 15. My friend and I both ordered that. Then since it was happy hour, we also ordered two appetizer plates, the cucumber, feta and some sort of bean dip and a sort of pork rillette platter with a bit of mustard, pickled peppers, onions and pickles on the side, with mini crostinis. Cute and well presented and plenty of food to snack on. Each plate was $ 5 on the happy hour menu, but the other food on the menu looked really nice and I’ll definitely be back to try something different. They were pouring very different wines and things I’ve never heard of which was exciting for the wine snobs out there that want to try new things when they go out! They were also pouring SoloUva from Franciacorta, Italy– awesome! Our server was very nice answering our(my) random questions from time to time and was able to explain everything and was very nice about it. Someone that knows what they are pouring is huge points!(It doesn’t always happen these days) There was a French wine that I’d never heard of and I asked our servers opinion on it. I went for a glass of that– first thought was it was flat and seemed watered down in a way. VERY different then any white wine I had. I still kept thinking it was flat haha, but a few more sips in and it had me. I wish I remembered the name. You can tell they have some great people doing the selections and research for their menu. I was very impressed. They have local wines and lots of foreign wines, a great mix of both! The space itself is quite small and intimate, not a place for groups in my opinion. Four people or so to some tables, seats at the bar and a couple of tables outside. The design is very beautiful and the wine along the main wall was well displayed and unique, it’s really an eye catcher. I’ll recommend friends here and definitely be back in the near future myself. I’d say the only«con» was the last wine on our wine tasting. My friend and I agreed that it was a «sad» way to end the tasting because the wine was quite boring itself– but that’s an opinion and I have a boyfriend that loves a good Lambrusco. But this wasn’t full of much flavor, I’ve had much better in the past. That’s the only thing I’ve got to say! Can’t wait to be back to explore more unique wines and to learn more! Maybe they even host classes? I’d love that!

Went in hopes of having the experience we had in the past but were sadly disappointed when we first arrived. Greeted by a gentleman with a cold, unhappy demeanor and barked at us to «sit wherever». Seemed somewhat annoyed we were there, maybe because it was so busy? Think the nice lady we had in the past saw what happened and rushed over with a warm smile, menus and great recommendations. Happened to be a special cheese night from Stephen’s cheese bar, really nice and cheeses very eclectic. They were very busy but the service ended up being great and they had some good tunes on also! Love how the food and wine menu is always changing. Tap wines always a good choice, partner loved yummy sparkling from Spain! Ended up being a nice night out in the neighborhood, hoping it doesn’t turn into another local place with the«hipster attitude» we have noticed at other spots.

Sought out this place while visiting PDX because I’m a fan of Division Winemaking Co. and really wanted to try their Gamay Noir. Planned to go there while waiting for a table at the ridiculously popular Pok Pok. Well, wait was 2 hours for PP and the Gamay was sold out, so I was a little bummed and not terribly enthusiastic about eating at SE Wine Collective but shame on me. Food was delicious, especially the beef lettuce wraps and gourgeres, ended up liking a Pinot from Tripod Project the best and the people(staff and fellow customers) were fun and very friendly. Loved the canine«manager”/greeter/champion beggar Cassidy, too!

Stumbled upon this delightful wine adventure, quite by accident. Unpretentious, friendly and sweet staff. They recommended a beautiful Austrian Rose which matched the sweltering heat. The heat wouldn’t be newsworthy in NYC but we are in Portland. We we serenaded by a beautiful black lab, Butch Cassidy. Apparently this is his joint. We will be back!

Showed up ten minutes before they opened, just looking for a place that sold wine by the bottle, ended up staying and trying a few flights, then some food. So worth it. Our server was immensely helpful and a wealth of knowledge. The charcuterie platter disappeared in seconds. Glad to have stumbled upon this place, as well as out of it.

The service, food, wine, atmosphere — we loved all of it! We came on a busy evening and there weren’t any seats inside. We said we didn’t want to eat outside(too chilly!) and the server was so sweet in keeping us posted of our table status. We ran into a friend and she put up a reserved sign on our table while we finished our conversation and came inside. She was incredibly busy so I was happy with her attentive service. We ordered a wine flight and a charcuterie and cheese board. Wine was great and very interesting, and, well… I love quality cured meat. We were thrilled! Will definitely be back — thanks SEWC!

This place is adorable! Small, intimate, with great ambience, excellent service, and good food. The waiter did a great job at recommending different wine flights and one of our party only liked white wine so he created a surprise flight that suited her needs. The food we ordered were delicious: deviled egg flight, jamon sandwich, moroccan lamb meatballs, shaved Brussels sprouts, and the baked chocolate chip cookie. So delicous! They make wines in the same building and have both a local and international selection. They also do happy hours daily from 4 – 6 pm. A great find and we will be back!

This was quite the treat and extremely special. It’s not your typical wine tasting place(not that there’s anything at all wrong with them) but, this is even more fun. It’s the«Collective» word in the name here that makes it even more special. They’ve got small wineries from all over this area for your tasting, for your buying, for your amusement and pleasure from the get go. There are numerous options for tasting different wines. They also bring in winery folks(guests) that will do the pourings and go into great explaining of what their grapes are all about. We did one of them ourselves and by the time he was through I thought I drank from a magician’s bottle. We also ended up eating about 5 different dishes including their wonderful popcorn for starters. There was not a bite that was not enjoyable and intoxicating also. The reason I could not give this place a 5 star is the space itself. It was super busy and you really had to pay attention to them so that you could choreograph the visits to the table. The servers danced in and out to try and get everybody on board and engaged but sometimes it was just impossible. There are only about 4 tables and one of my pet peeves is when a huge party comes in and basically just monopolizes the rest of the place. I consider it rude but to work around it perhaps some sort of reservation system for big tables. Or just find more tables or a bigger space because they have been discovered and it’s exploding with people.

The SE Wine Collective is incredible. I came here as part of a wedding party social gathering before the big day and could not have been more impressed. This wine collective is a small space for burgeoning wine makers to use their equipment, make small batches of wine, and sell from their quaintly rustic wine bar while getting off the ground. The staff was knowledgeable about each of the various wines and could keep up with the groom-to-be’s insatiable thirst for learning about each of the wines. They even took us on a short tour of the collective. Our cheese and charcuterie plates were delicious and I would highly recommend getting one to nibble on while tasting a glass of wine or 6. Trying one of their flights of wine was an excellent way to get a sampling of the various wines and wine distributors they currently have in house. Highly, highly recommend to any foodie/wino.

2 stars for the wine only. We stopped by on a warm Saturday evening. Interesting wine selection, mainly local wines produced onsite at the custom crush facility. I love that this gives smaller winemakers the opportunity to show their stuff, Chenin Blanc flight was great. Service however was terrible. The gal tending bar couldn’t be bothered to answer any questions about the menu, offered minuscule pours and knew very little about the wine or winemaking process. The surly service left us frustrated and with so many other great options in the area — we would not return.
