It’s taken me a while to write this review because being reminded of this complex annoys me. But people to deserve to know what they’re getting into so here it goes. If only I had known before… I lived here in early 2015.
By far the worst place I have ever lived & this is considering I’ve lived all over the states in many homes/​apartments & overseas. Some very nice others not so great. Office people are very nice but don’t have much power to do anything about the problems which frankly. is a problem.
I accidentally chose to live here because I was moving from out of country & did not have the opportunity to see the place before renting it out. My father rented it for me ahead of time so I’d have a place to send my things but that’s what happens when you send a man to do a woman’s job so choosing this location was really just a horrible accident on my part. Online the place looks very nice.
There are # of reasons why this place sucks & why I broke my lease 3 – 4 months into living here. It’s in a ghetto area. Bang bang goes the guns & police sirens ALL of the time. Even the folks living here are pretty sketchy. The hallway always smells like ganja & there are always iffy looking folk hanging around waiting for someone to let them in. This crazy person came into the gym while I was working out, slammed around the gym equipment, then left. No more gym time for me… psychos everywhere. Kids smoking at the pool after office hours. Plus the max is just down the street which is good if you’re car-​less but downside brings a lot of sketchys to the area.
When I arrived the apartment was absolutely filthy. I had to wipe the floors with a lot of cleaner because my brand new, unworn house slippers bought the day before I moved in were black on the bottom the first day I entered the place with clumps of dirt &/​or sh-​t stuck to the floor. No one had cleaned the place prior to my entry & there were sharp bottle caps inside of the disposal. Other problems we had to get fixed. The place was flea INFESTED. At first it was a few flea bites but after the fleas realized the dogs were completely impossible for them (have been clean their whole lives & it’s mandatory to have them fully vaccinated/​treated just to get them into the country) they latched on to us humans. 19 flea bites up & down my entire leg, some of the most discomfort I have ever been in. I reported this but they claimed it was from my pets. I explained that it was my impossible for my dogs flown in from Japan to have fleas, in fact I had paperwork proving it but their cheap asses did not offer to exterminate nor did they offer an apology.
Furthermore it gets worse. There is CONSTANT NOISE ²⁴⁄₇. My apartment was directly above the garage door where anyone in the apartment who pays for covered parking comes in & out of at all hours of the day & night. The garage door is old & EXTREMELY loud. The sound of the garage door opening & closing fills the entire apartment each & every time. On top of that the person above me «Mr. I have testosterone problems because I must be a dinosaur to walk so loudly that our apartment ceiling vibrates» left his home (I could literally hear him stomping around getting ready, slamming the door, & then the noise of the garage) every night at 2AM & came home once at 4AM every frigging night. Not even in the dead of night can there be silence in the apartment. As if it couldn’t get any worse sprinklers every night at 2AM & some sketchbag with his high beamers on parked right in front of my apartment balcony with his noisy engine on every friggen night from 12−5AM. Drug dealer? Living here was torture & I did not sleep for the entire 3 – 4 months that I lived there. Not a single moment of silence.
Other things: the office workers doubled charged us for rent once & did not even resolve the problem until they came back from lunch first. Seriously?
Smoking allowed on the balcony which means it’s basically impossible to air out the apartment thanks to our filthy neighbor next door who’s entire balcony was covered in cigarette butts while he played dub step on the balcony. How old are you? Ughh… GROW UP. The noise also doesn’t stop during the day. Wanna know why the grounds are the only nice thing about this place? Yeah because all day every day there is some type of mowing & leaf blowing happening. Oh & there is zero water pressure. If one person bathes or showers don’t expect there to be any heat for the next person.
I wish I were exaggerating but this place was my own personal hell. Don’t live here. There’s nothing good about this place. Price is average, if not over priced considering this place is sh-​t.
