When we pulled up, there was a big, red fire truck sitting next to the restaurant just gleaming in the afternoon sun. Ya’ll know what that means… um yeah, HOTFIREMEN! I dashed into the restaurant the way those fellas run into burning buildings. So as not to look like a total weirdo, I pulled myself together and managed to find my words and ordered the shrimp tacos. J.J. and I grabbed a seat outside on one of the picnic tables and admired the boys as they waited for their order. I nearly shed a tear as the boys drove off in their big, red truck. We went back inside a few moments later to pick up our order as they don’t have table service. They are pretty quick though and we didn’t have to wait long. «Hey there, how you doin’» says Tamara to her hot looking taco before she inhaled the hapless thing. The sautéed shrimp was plump and full flavored. I am super fond of the chipotle sauce that the shrimp tacos come with so I didn’t need to add anything. They just come out of the kitchen perfect, hot and ready to devour. Now, if Rose City Taqueria is a regular stop for the hot firemen, I may have to reconsider some of my Sunday habits… 2016 — Review # 48

We are loving this place. They are clean, fast and friendly. We have had several of their burritos, sampled lots of tacos, had the enchilada plate, taco salad, and the carne asada fries. These have all been super tasty and with no skimping on size. The only item my wife wasn’t totally on board with was the nachos. She said she thought they were a little bland and the chips got soggy faster than usual. Saying that, we’ll be back for more. .. and more. .. and more. .. and

Without question, the tastiest, most authentic Mexican food in Portland! Everything was delicious and the portions were much larger than others places, and for a fraction of the price. The establishment is very clean and staff were all very kind and accommodating. Can’t wait to go back!

Best Taqueria in Portland. Has nothing to do with the fact it’s a block from my house. The hard tostada is the best deal and every meat they offer is of good quality and tasty as all hell. I order the shrimp every time and they cook it to order!

YES. ALLTHEYES. Cheap, and freakin delicious! Have you tried the Ceviche tostada? If not, stop what you’re doing and go get one. Tacos are the best in the area, especially since Santa Cruz went downhill. Let’s just hope the influx of business for them doesn’t drive down quality and we’re golden!

This place use to be the old location of Portland Taqueria. Went here the other day for a quick bite to eat and am glad I did. Almost everything on the menu is under $ 5 and the tacos were around $ 1.50 each. I had for tacos and was thinking if I should try them all… but decided to be good and stick with the four. I tried the Rose City Taco(shredded beef), pastor, chicken, and steak tacos… all were good! Needless to say, I will be visiting this place again soon!

I’m kinda torn between writing a 5 star review since its the closest and most delicious Mexican food place near my hours, or write a 1 star review so the hipsters don’t find out about it. It’s the best Mexican food I’ve found in Portland and the carne asada fries are amazing! One could argue that fries are not«authentic» but burritos aren’t really«authentic» either. But what they are is DELICIOUS…

Big portions, clean place, and good food. The prices are really cheap and you get a a lot of food. The staff is awesome and friendly, and it’s quick service. This place is on my neighbor and I think it’s the best place in St. John’s. Carne asada fries, 5 bucks, amazing.

Holy hell! I hate to review here– I don’t want to let the secret out! So good, fresh and clean, superb food, great service, awesome prices. The meat is tender and not fatty/gristly. Chips are freshly made to order, pico is perfect and their house taco sauces leave me dreaming of more! Even their cheeseburger is yum! I seriously drive across town to go here once a week.

Thanks to a recommendation from my friend Mary B. I have stopped here a couple of times for burritos to go. For a mere $ 3.50 I get a honking huge bean & cheese burrito that is far superior to the taqueria closer to my home. Their red sauce is really good and has a nice kick to it, but they have other options if you prefer green or something milder. I haven’t tried any of their other menu items, but plan to in the near future. They have a small dining area if you would prefer to eat there. The food is ready really quickly, and the prices are crazy affordable which is a huge bonus. Definitely a good choice if you’re in St. Johns.

Horrible service. I have been there four times for a breakfast burrito with no meat and no beans; just cheese, eggs and potatos. Each time they mess up. Pretty easy order to make. It doesn’t take a rocket science for eggs, cheese and potato’s. Today I asked for a cheese quesidilla with sour cream. I figured cheese and a torilla couldn’t be to hard to mess up. I got cheese(very very little) tomatoes, onions and warm sour cream. This place is horrible and they can not get any orders right!!! You are better off going to Los Popitos on Lombard, his food is fresh and ALWAYS made correctly…

Hungry? Trying to save your paper for legal weed? Are the mini tacos in your freezer that you bought at Costco not getting the job done? This place has delicious food, really solid portions, and is pretty authentic. Being from Wisconsin, I don’t know the first thing about good Mexican food /I know everything there is to know about authentic Mexican food, but I can tell you this food is the right stuff. If you need a point of reference, I used to think Chi-Chi’s was the greatest thing out there. It’s no Chi-Chi’s, but let me tell you, the food here won’t disappoint! I love the breakfast burritos, and their carnitas is quite tasty. Lots of classic options and low prices. This is a serious Taqueria! Just eat here – it’s fast and cheap, so if it doesn’t live up to Californian standards, you’re in and out and still have enough scratch for when you go back and can get whatever it is that is «the best.»

This is LEGIT mexican fare. And CHEAP. I paid less than $ 20 for a family of 5 to eat dinner. Guise. This place is amazing. And it’s right down the street from me. Dangerous? Or extremely convenient? I think the latter. I’m super impressed with the food here. They also have TVs in case you need to catch that football game while you chow down on that chili relleno burrito or those 15 carnitas tacos. This place is everything you expect an authentic mexican place to be. If you’re from California… FIRST don’t tell anyone and SECOND… visit Rose City Taqueria. You will be satisfied for sure.

Rose City is my spot! If you looking for an inexpensive and tasty burrito and you are in North Portland, give them a try. They are open late and have a lot of great choices on the menu. Fast and friendly service, pretty good salsa(with bottles of my favorite, Yucateco, on the tables), and the place is clean and well lit. They also have burgers, but I always stick to the tacos and burritos. So glad Rose City Taqueria is on my way home from work. I probably pick up there once or twice a week.

I’d show you a picture but my mouth and hands were too full with the black bean burrito to hold my phone. It was hot, brimming with beans, with just the right amount of cheese. The remarkable thing is it was only $ 4. I pay $ 7 for a burrito that is half the size and never as fresh or hot at a regular spot in Hood River. Rose City Taqueria is my new favorite quick Mexican spot after only one visit.

4 stars for the food. I ordered chicken, steak, and pork tacos, and they were really great for the price point. Love the guacamole drizzle on top. The spicy hot sauce is spicy! My guy ordered the chicken fajita burrito, and he loved the beans and flavorful chicken. 1 star for the gross thing that happened. A small child was drinking out of a glass coke bottle. After he finishes it, he goes up to the water refill station, and puts the mouth of the glass that he has been drinking on, directly onto the water tap. Worst of all, the staff helped him do this! Can you say germs?! They should have just helped him pour a glass of water and handed it to them. It made me wonder about the cleanliness of this joint, but I will count it as a one time thing for now.
