Goodbye customer service. These guys are jerks.
Left my reusable water bottle in here last week, a replaceable thing but still a personal belonging. Came by to see if they found it, since wasn’t positive. Immediately response from another employee was «Tossed it. It’s gone.», with no eye contact or care.
Add to the fact that previous times I’ve walked in, they don’t even attempt to help you if they don’t stock that particular item.

The guys who work here are super knowledgeable, and fairly blunt. If something isn’t that good or won’t work, they’ll tell you flat out.
While that bluntness is abrasive, they stay honest and will avoid selling you a product they don’t have faith in.

Usually I only use Unilocal to read reviews but I just had the worst experience and I can’t help but share it. My boyfriend and I went in to the downtown RadioShack with a vague idea of what we needed. We hoped we would get some assistance from the man working in the store, however instead the guy working at the counter was unhelpful, treated us like idiots and gave us the worst customer service I’ve experienced ANYWHERE! As soon as my boyfriend and i stepped out of store we both said to each other «wow what an asshole». Needless to say I will never come back to this place, and if I could give him zero stars I would. With customer service like this it’s no wonder Radioshacks are starting to go out of business.

I went to this store the first time when I wanted to find something to fix the cord of my PC speakers, which was broken, I did not know what exactly i needed to do that, a new part or adapter, or new wires to replace or something. There was this gentleman, who was not only knowledgeable but also extremely helpful and friendly. He told me I needed to solder the wires and needed to buy a soldering device, which he instructed me where to find and he also told me how to do the whole process. I purchased everything and it did not cost me much at all and I was able to fix my speakers. After that time I have been back to this store. They have all kinds of good plans with discounts. And there are all those little things and electrical devices, cables and adapters that you cannot find anywhere, not even at Best Buy, the only draw back at this location is the parking, not always you find some free spot!

While it’s true that the selection at this particular Radio Shack is more limited than at other larger stores, they’ve always had exactly what I needed. Furthermore, you receive excellent customer service no matter whether you know what you’re talking about or need a little product education!
On one visit the sales assistant talked through our problem with us (router issues), and we concluded that we didn’t actually need to buy anything new that day and instead went home to do some troubleshooting based on his suggestions. On another, I got a great rundown on differences between portable device chargers as well as strategic advice about warranties and upgrades.
Given that, I’ll be timing my electronic shopping to coincide with downtown visits in the future. I’d much rather go to a smaller store and actually get the information I need than wander around a big box in the suburbs fruitlessly trying to flag down someone — anyone! — to help me. They’ve always got helpful in stock here!

This is my normal electronics store and have been coming here for years. Most of the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. I was in there the other day though and I keep having a negative experience with the manager. He is frequently rude to his employees and will yell at them in the back thinking the customer cant hear. He makes me uncomfortable when i am in there and often i dont even bother going in if i see he is there when i need something. I would rather wait than have him help me. He is often abrasive and acts as if he has better things to do than help me. I feel bad for the employees working there and if you were smart you would make it a point to avoid him when you go in there. Other than that the store is wonderful and I would have given it a much higher rating if not for him. When other employees help me i feel much more comfortable and they often go out of their way to do so. Radio Shack, i highly reccomend you look into who you put into positions of power because some people were just not cut out to be in charge without it going to their head.

RadioShack sure ain’t what it used to be. Once upon a time, I would go here to actually buy electronics components to fix things and get advice from the super knowledgeable staff. Now it’s an overgrown cell phone store staffed by teenagers.
The customer service is terrible, and selection is worse. They are consistently out of ink cartridges, the house brand batteries are the worst quality and overpriced, and they don’t even sell a lot of items anymore, like when I needed an FM antenna to replace the one my cat chewed up.
Most recently, I purchased a set of earbuds with a cheap «replacement plan» so I could get a new pair when they died (you know earbuds have a lifespan of about 4 months), and it took over a month to get the store credit/​gift card due to general incompetency — so much for using it to replace the earbuds (I already bought a new pair). The store manager was completely rude about it and blamed me even though it was actually his employee’s screwup (he requested a snail mail card instead of electronic, and of course it ended up sent to the wrong address because I never gave them my mailing address in the first place). Never got an apology of any kind, and corporate was less than helpful. This place is a joke.
By the way, if you want a real electronics parts store, try URS Electronics on the East Side.

When the people at the apple store were at best vanilla, and at worst rude, I decided to take my iPhone upgrade to a store that at least acts like they appreciate my business.
I upgraded my iPhone here about a month ago, and got great customer service from the Assistant Manager by phone, then in person. When I came back a few days later for help setting things up, the Manager did his best. I actually exchanged my case to get the same case he has. Then this week, my screen started looking a little funky, something about the screen protector. RADIOSHACK WINS AGAIN — open pretty late and convenient to parking and transportation, they fixed the issue within minutes and for free.

Hubby and I just did the trade and save to upgrade our iPhones to the latest model. (Just call to be put on the waitlist.) Although it took a while (it did the last time we upgraded too so it wasn’t just this store) the employees were helpful and friendly.
They are not a big box store so they don’t have everything under the sun but if you are electronics enthusiast or just need a part of two, they are well suited to fit your needs. Being downtown is convenient.

There is a certain part of downtown that seems to be below the standards of the rest of the city. It is directly in between Carl’s Jr. and Radioshack. And this «Shack» is telling of the quality decline zone encompassed within the block or so to which I refer. Measly selection of components is not made up for with crappy gadgetry and a ton of pay-​as-​you-​go cell phones. This is Radio Shack. I thought that’s where people went to get capacitors and switches and all that hullabaloo. Apparently not. And now I realize this, and will never set foot in this particular place again.
If only it was Radio Shaq. I would listen to that man on the FM dial like nobody’s business.

I have no idea how Radioshack is still in business all of these years. It would seem to me that the lack of ham radio hobbyists and the last couple of recessions would have sealed their fate. Yet they still persist. I wouldn’t say I am a fan, just shocked that we went there and they had what we needed, and the guy who helped us was pretty friendly.

If you ever forget to pack the power cord for your laptop when you make a trip down to Portland you can come here and buy a crappy «iGo» modulartastic replacement for one less Benjamin in your pocket. It still makes me a bit nauseous.
