Their sour beers are amazing. The service is always perfect — friendly, prompt and helpful.

Enjoyable outdoor seating. Great customer service. Cascade sour beers, yum :) We only ate wings which were just, ok. The blue cheese dressing could be thicker. Overall a great place for a tasty beverage on a warm summer night.

I have to give love to this place. It’s exactly what you want from a brew pub in portland. The have a great and sometimes exotic beer/cider selection that allows me to go outside my typical comfort zone. Their specials menu is always changing which is nice if you like to veer off the normal menu. I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, with grilled veggies that left me full and satisfied. Service is always friendly and helpful, though I’ve only ever dined downstairs so i can’t say anything for the usually packed upstairs main dining area. Definitely recommend for a casual date night or a gathering of friends.

This is an aggravating brew-pub, at times. The quality of the food and drink seems to fall into one of two categories: delicious or thoroughly mediocre. Case in point, their ginger lime beer falls firmly into the latter category, while«Date Night» and the Kriek are wonderful. For another example, consider the food. On the same visit, I had some quite underwhelming nachos, but they were followed by one of the best BBQ chicken pizzas I’ve had in quite some time. The space is quite large and quite nice, and the staff are laid-back and hard-working. When the Racoon hits, they knock it out of the park… when they miss… they do so by a mile.

We reserved a «back bar» for 18 people. Some of us showed up early and our waitress(I wish I captured her name) did an AMAZING job accommodating us. People were trickling in as the night progressed and it was pretty chaotic. She NEVER missed a bit. Got all of our orders right, kept asking if we needed anything and… was smiling all the time!!! They usually close upstairs at 10pm… but made the exception to let us stay until 11pm. We really appreciated it as this was a special occasion. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for any large group gatherings. I really wished I captured the name of the person taking care of us. She was INCREDIBLE! Thank you!!!

We just love this place! The atmosphere is fun and peaceful at the same time. I love the menu. It offers both comfort food and healthy meals.

Wanted to sit outside with my dog. So I called to double check and was told they don’t start outdoor seating UNTIL mid June. REALLY! To bad, maybe they don’t know we actually have days without rain in the Spring. My family and I have lived in the PacNW long enough to withstand overcast days outside and enjoy them. Won’t ever be spending my $ at Raccoon Lodge and Brewpub.

I’ve gone to Raccoon Lodge for years and I have NEVER had my friends and myself be treated so disrespectfully from the bartenders downstairs. I used to love the bartenders upstairs and downstairs but I will never recommend Raccoon Lodge to anyone ever again… Furthermore, I will never go again. You all lost a loyal customer for life. *If I could give zero stars, I would.

Bland bland bland bland bland! I got the Hawaiian burger, which sounds AMAZING in writing, to find it overstuffed and the burger itself was SUPER bland, yet somehow still juicy… Hence the stars. Maybe I have high expectations for a burger, but I expect it to taste a little better than pineapple & bun for the price

Great place, fabulous food, bodacious beer, and one of the worst servers of all time… sat at the bar for 10 minutes before getting noticed(Sunday at 2pm… not crowded), then once we did get a pint, was 30min to get a refill. So at that point it was time to cash out and go downstairs. Apparently the puddgy long haired teen felt he was«entitled» to a tip for his lousy service… cause he came down stairs and warned the bar staff to watch out that we «stiffed» him ! ! ! Really??? I rarely post reviews, especially ones that are less than positive… unless i have gone somewhere several times at it was always bad… but this jerk wins the douche 2015 award! Still great beer, just a losy server!!!

First time I have visited in over 10 years, and it was as good as I remember. Good selection of beer, and the burger was really tasty. Super friendly and attentive staff(thanks Kevin!) and a laid back atmosphere. I’ll definitely go back.

We used to love this place. Now the service is often bad and the kitchen is ridiculously slow. Some of the servers are amazing and some are terrible. The last two times we’ve been here the kitchen has been so terribly slow that guests have left and we’ve had to take our food to go. Don’t go here if you have plans or need to be somewhere.

I love this place. I’ve eaten lunch upstairs with coworkers several times. There’s plenty of room and I think their food is really good as well. I’ve also sat downstairs and watched a football game a few times and I especially like sitting down there. The bar area usually has people there but I’ve never seen it packed. It seems pretty mellow, really. Last Sunday they were nice enough to make sure the two games that I wanted were on tvs near my table. There’s 4 or 5 tvs down there and a good amount of seating. They have pretty good beer and one of my favorite bloody Mary’s as well. I’ve always got good service, though sometimes they are a bit slower on the food.

In this review, I am rating Raccoon Lodge, not Cascade beers. As we all know, their sours are great; and their other beers are good as well. Raccoon Lodge, on the other hand, is very, very ‘meh’. Upstairs, the dining area has a family feel. To me, it felt like visiting any chain restaurant with families and balloons for the kids. Yuck. So, head down stairs to the grown-up bar you say… well unfortunately, that’s even worse. It’s clear there are a lot of regulars there, but not at-all the type of cool regulars you’ll find in Eastside bars. Talk of drug deals, finding a place to sleep tonight and drunken ramblings are a plenty. Top it off with video poker and you have yourself a real awesome place, eh? All-in-all this place totally bums me out. The West Hills could use some cool drinkeries but this certainly isn’t one of them.

Food was good, we’ve been here multiple times. And normally really enjoy our visits, but. the older gentlemen(with a obvious limp) working was not friendly ATALL… Made us feel very unwelcome. Only came and checked on us once in 45 minutes… and by then. We were ready to leave… The only time he was nice, is when he dropped off the bill.(Being nice right before we pay… He believes will get him a pity tip…) not the best game plan. If you dislike your job, do something else, it’s obviously not for you. People are coming in to feel welcome and appreciated. If you made us feel the opposite. More than likely not coming back, if we do. It’s only if old man grumpy is off for the day. We really like this place too… Sucks we drove all the way out for that. Don’t wear your emotions on your sleeve, leave it at home. Grumpy is a bad color on you.

Bonus round round that there is plenty of outside seating, some w trees overhead. Food was just fine, memorable? Nah, but fine. Beer list enough to satisfy any palette. Get here before 5:30 if you want to sit outside, and be prepared, loads of kids will be milling about. Overall? All boxes checked!

Raccoon Lodge has a Beavertony vibe. It’s unmistakably Beavertony, except that it’s in Portland. It is so very different from the Cascade bar in the Southeast, and I think that’s a good thing. The beer — well, where are you going to find better beer in Portland? The sour beers brewed here are among the best in the world(no exaggeration). And the Portland Ale is a very decent session beer. The food isn’t at all bad, but it is a bit pricey for the quality, I think. They do make a good bar pizza. Service was a bit interesting, but in a good way. Everyone appears pretty at home here, and there are lots of regulars. Parking is ample, as this is almost the suburbs. And if you want to wait to sober up, you can get a haircut at Bishop’s next door.

Visited here for a happy hour one afternoon. My husband and I love Cascade Barrel Room so we were pleasantly surprised that this is where their sour beers are actually brewed! We only ordered appetizers and drinks but we were both happy with the portion size and price. We also enjoyed the ambiance of the place. It felt very cozy and warm. It seemed like it would fit better at the base of Mount Hood rather than Beaverton but we live close so we’ll take it!

From the large, open-beam interior space sometimes filled with the aroma of boiling wort, to the fantastically positive service — this place is a winner. Sure I may be biased towards the beers a bit, and especially the rotating sour choices, but almost everything about the Lodge is top-notch. Huge, high quality front projection TV in the kitchen/bar area, beautifully decorated seating spots with one next to a big fireplace, and two stories of areas to relax, enjoy some fantastic brews, and killer grub. Make your choice. Burger selection is great, and the beef tastes fantastic. There is a Buffalo burger on the menu for ~$ 13, Bleu Cheese Mushroom, and Bacon Avocado, to name a few. Regular or ale-battered fries can add to the caloric uptake, if so inclined. Other items have looked good as well. There full menu is on the web, check it out. The sour Beer selections rotate on a regular basis, and they offer what is referred to as the«Pucker Paddle» — a taster of their four sours on tap for $ 8. Their non-sour beers are also tasty, like the Cascade IPA and the Razberry Wheat. Grenade growlers are $ 4, and 64oz. growlers are $ 6. A huge selection of their 750ml. bottles are on sale as well, from $ 20 on up. Some of their growler fills can get pricey, all depending on your palate and budget($ 15 to $ 50). Figaro, Kriek, Honey Ginger Lime and Blueberry sours were on tap yesterday(11-19-2014). Their Portland Ale and Cascade IPA are available at Happy Hour discounts. The second floor space is where you need to be for food and drink, but if time allows sneak a peak at the heart of the beer making apparatus on the ground floor. Their prices for their sours might seem high, but factor in the time necessary for these special offerings to come of age(more than 24 months on oak in some cases) and you might begin to understand why the slightly higher price. Barrels are stacked high, patiently waiting to disgorge their contents into receptive glassware of all types. If you are a fan of bacterium beers, this is a must experience. Want to pursue even more sourness from Cascade? The Cascade Barrel House is damn-near sour Mecca. Much success on your pilgrimage.
