Lovely little Monday farmers market you can drop into for fresh fruit, a few veggies, baked goods, vinegar & olive oils, tamales, fresh flowers, and more. I was only in Portland for a few days and really wanted some food that wasn’t garbage and fruit to keep in my hotel room, and this farmers market totally did the trick! Nice variety of produce as well as lunch vendors offering vegan bowls, tamales, indian food, salads, and more to locals who work or live in he areas I picked up an awesome selection of fresh local cherries, strawberries, carrots, and hard apple cider for under $ 25 bucks! A great lunch too from the quesadilla spot! Highly recommended for locals needing a quick produce fix, or business travelers looking for some fresh food for the week.

To be honest, I was rather disappointed with the selection. I did pick up an amazing box of mixed berries(less than ½ the price of store bought), but aside from one tomato stand, it was all black/blue/raspberries with a few nectarines and cherries thrown in. The sole food stand selling something other than fruit/fried food/pastries sold tomatoes only(though they were excellent!). I would have loved to see some vegetable and meat vendors, but if you are just looking for fruit and a quick snack it’s great!

I’ve been coming to this location to visit and purchase items since the opening day in 2010. For a couple of years, a friend and I met there for lunch every Monday. I haven’t been able to attend for a couple of years now because I lived elsewhere, but now that I’m back downtown, I decided to start up my delightful old habit of visiting this great smaller farmer’s market(I love the size and variety of vendors). Sadly, yesterday, I arrived too late(they were all shutting down), but I shall return for the beautiful berries, tomatoes, and fresh-cut flowers that I love the best and purchase the most in this super-convenient location next Monday!

Mondays on the square(in the summer) you’ll find a plethora of local goods at the Pioneer Courthouse Farmer’s Market. You have your choice between Himalayan dumplings, Tastebud’s unforgettable bagels, Olympia’s dried meats, Portland Juice Company’s variety of raw cold-pressed juices, a fruit and vinegar stand, jams, kale chips, and a mini bakery. Oh yes, and a Scoop ice-cream cart. Grab lunch and score your groceries all at once. This is a godsend location for urban workers and dwellers alike. Having fresh produce in your office is a wonderful way to star the week. This location is open only on Mondays, in the summer, from 10am to 2pm.

This Monday only Market is a small version of the PSU Saturday Farmers Market. I stopped by today for the first time. It has around 3 – 4 rows of vendors selling fresh produce, flowers, and baked goods. Standard farmers market fare. There were several stands offering take away lunch. It’s similar to the one held Wednesday at Shemanski Park a few blocks away. It wasn’t very crowded, so it would be easy to get in and out quickly if you know what you’re looking for. It’s very convenient for the downtown lunch crowd. It’s directly across the street from the Nines Hotel and Nordstrom on the Max lines. Parking is somewhat limited of course since it’s smack in the middle of the transit center.
