Great food with a fabulous view of Portland and it’s surrounding sights. Mt St Helen, Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson all viewable as you sit for a meal and drink. Surprisingly great prices.

You must go to the happy hour! Best views of the city and really cheap food prices! My husband had the burger, which he enjoyed and I had a crawfish pasta dish, which was also good. There is not a bad seat in the place.

Our second time here and it was amazing again! Came hoping to go to happy hour but it was slammed. When we asked for wait time for the restaurant area, we were seated immediately at a window. Food was amazing. I got the chef special with filet mignon and scallops cooked to perfection. My girlfriends white macadamia nut crusted chicken was cooked perfectly. And we also got a complimentary desert which consisted of chocolate mouse, hazelnut, and a crunch bar type bottom. Will definitely come back!

I think this restaurant is a must just for the view alone. I unfortunately could not get a window table as a walk in, so I sat at the bar. Service was pretty decent, in the beginning, and got better on as the night passed. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday night at 8PM. The food was pretty decent. I had the seasoned waffle fries for appetizer, which really was just average waffle fries, nothing special. For the entrée, I had their dry aged ribeye which was about $ 50, and it was not worth the price. Save your money and go to Ringside Steakhouse for expensive steak. It wasn’t bad, but I expected more for the price. Let me reiterate, the view is unbelievable, so I believe you should stop here at least once to see it. They even had a piano player playing instrumental versions of pop songs.

I work in the U.S. Bank tower, and tried to eat lunch here today. I was not impressed. We sat down in the lounge, as we were told the dining room was full, which is fine. They do have an amazing panoramic view of downtown, and the menu looked good, and very reasonably priced. After about five minutes our waitress came over to our table and took our drink orders, and when my dude asked for his drink, she responded, «What?!» rather rudely. Ok… After she delivered our drinks, she said she was going to drop off the other drinks she was carrying to a table near ours, and would be back to take our order right away. So 25 minutes later… we have to get back to work. We decided to just pay for our sodas, and try to grab something downstairs at the food carts instead. Since our waitress was busy chatting up another table, I walked up to the bar to pay. The bartender flagged down our waitress and informed her we were leaving. She didn’t ask why, or apologize for making us wait, just said, «It’s five dollars,» and held her hand out for payment. I wasn’t really expecting that reaction, but ok, whatever, I handed her my card. She walked away to run it, and came back with a receipt charging $ 7.50. For 2 diet sodas. Geeeeez. Really? I didn’t have time to argue with her, as it was now 12:45pm, and we had to be back to work in 15 minutes. But I definitely won’t be back.

This place rocks. Find Tiffany, she’s a great aid for menu selections and knows her stuff. Super fun and very pro. The view is awesome and the food is great. Portland has a lot of great places in finding but this place is tops. I think we had about every appetizer on the menu, thanks Tiffany, and my colleges raved about the drinks they were getting Totally worth checking out if you’re in town for a short period of time. You’ll really want to come back.

Portland city grill has a great view on the 30th floor with great drinks, and great service. But the food was just not worth it. The food wasn’t very good. Really over priced for very basic food you could go to a cheap franchise for. We got the calamari, which was overly sweet and battered, the clams, which were great, the duck with steam buns, really peanuty and dry, and the Mac and cheese, which again, the taste was not worth the price. Overall, it’s a good experience, and I could see myself definitely coming back for maybe drinks and the great view, but not for the food. 5 stars for view and service, but 2 for the food.

Second time eating here, love their happy hour! Server’s name was Tasha. She was efficient and not bothersome, couldn’t tell if she was happy or angry, seemed a little hangry. The good: fisherman’s stew was amazing. Saffron was the perfect complement to a great blend of seafood in a tomato-based broth. Their happy hour has a great selection. They don’t skimp on their happy-hour-sized plates. The bad: sat for 4 minutes at a table in the lounge before being greeted. Never got waters(although she offered to refill our wines). Food took a while and we ordered a mixed drink that was terrible, returned it, and still got charged.

Fantastic, Amazing, Incredible view from this place. The restaurant set up is great for all the city views. The happy hour is very worthy and the happy hour food is not your typical flare but unique and tasty. Very good wine list and worth a sto.

Amazing view! And a fantastic happy hour to go with it. This place was the highlight of my 3 day Portland food tour. Why? Because you get the best view of the city, delicious food/drinks and great service all for the happy hour price! We had the calamari, ahi tuna, salmon and jambalaya. All of it was great! Although my favourites were the jambalaya and salmon(those waffle fries and that salmon sauce)! I also forgot to mention that they validate your parking and that happy hour is all day Sunday. PCG is a real gem!

We were celebrating our anniversary and had never done anything extravagant before. We needed to go all out fancy. Even though we were late for our reservation, we still had an extremely wonderful view! We were right by the window, overlooking Portland. When we got to our table, we found it sprinkled in confetti hearts and«Happy Anniversary». There was also a signed card. The food was delicious, my boyfriend is still obsessing over how good his steak was. This place really made the night.

Can’t beat the view of Mount Hood! I recommend asking to sit at the bar area for happy hour, make sure you get there early enough so that you get a seat and after you get there try to sit closest to the piano so you get an awesome view of the mountains. I suppose the whole view of the city is nice, but this is my favorite spot. We got a few the happy hour plates and you really can’t go wrong with any of them. The short ribs are a must. I still think about them. The service too is stellar, they’re nice, sweet and fast. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Fantastic and lively bar and restaurant 30 floors above Portland! We loved the nearly 360 degree view of the city and mountains beyond, while enjoying terrific appetizers and drinks and great piano music… and the Thunder vs Golden State playoff game. I enjoyed the Beef tenderloin lettuce wraps and also the Ahi tuna appetizer. Even if you don’t get a reservation for dinner, be sure to have happy hour at Portland City Grill!

Portland City Grill gets 4 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service and view. The service was so good I am rounding up to give PCG a 5 star review. We arrived around 7:15 for a 7:30 reservation. We had to wait a bit for the table to be set up, but since we were early that’s not a problem. As other Unilocalers note, the views are gorgeous. We had the best of both worlds, as the sun was still up when we arrived, but by the time our meal had ended, the sun was down and the city was lit up. Very cool views of Mt. Hood and the river, in addition to the city in general. The restaurant itself is large, with plenty of seating as well as a large bar. It was very energetic on the Friday night we ate at PCG. I brought my 5 year old son because I wanted him to see the views. At first I was nervous about having a child so young at a fancy restaurant, but the hostess informed me children dined at PCG regularly. After we sat down and I began to look around, I noticed several children, including many younger than my son. When we were seated, we met our server. I can’t recall her name, but she was fantastic. She was funny, very prompt, but not overbearing. She was there when we needed her but allowed us to enjoy our meal without too many theatrics. Bottles of wine came quickly, as did refills for water. She offered us a couple of recommendations for the menu as well, and we were pleased with her suggestions. A+ service. We started with the duck confit steamed buns and the cheese plate. I also had the clam chowder. The duck was served as a leg, which meant we had to tear the meat off of it to make our own steamed bun. This was pretty unwieldy, and while the duck was very good, I wouldn’t order this dish again. It was difficult to share. The cheese plate was fantastic. Each selection(there were 3) is served with an accompaniment. Additionally, there was a little card explaining each cheese and accompaniment. I loved this touch, anytime I order a cheese plate or charcuterie, the server explains what is one there, and the table is always half paying attention and forgets. It was nice to have the cheat sheet. The clam chowder was very good. The server joked that it was served with bacon and more bacon, but this was accurate. It’s loaded with bacon. The soup had a darker hue that New England clam chowders typically have. It was seasoned very well, and in addition to the bacon, it was served with a lot of clams and potatoes. I was disappointed I only got the cup, this was a fantastic soup. No extra seasoning needed. For my entrée, I went with the shallot glazed short rib, which is served with tomatoes and mashed potatoes. I also had a bite of the ribeye and honey-brined pork tenderloin and the table shared an order of mac and cheese. The short rib was, as they are supposed to be, fork tender. It may have been slightly overcooked, but it wasn’t awful. It still remained juicy and incredibly moist. I loved the glaze. The potatoes and roasted tomatoes were fine, but the star was(appropriately) the short rib. The ribeye was good, cooked to a perfect medium rare. The pork tenderloin was surprisingly good. It was moist, and the brine imparts a great flavor. It was slightly sweet, but also seasoned well. It was a strong dish. The mac n cheese was a table favorite. Served with a white cheese sauce and a bread crumb topping, it was very cheesy, but not overpowering or greasy. The pasta was al dente and retained some bite to it. It was a very good mac n cheese, absolute re-order. For dessert, I had a port(recommended by the server) and the table shared a slice of enormous chocolate cake. It was very good, fluffy and the icing was thick and sweet but not too much of either. As I said, it’s immense, easily shareable. I was surprised by my evening at PCG. It’s an old school place that is known for its views, but I would argue it could equally be as known for its food. I would return on a future trip to Portland.

AMBIANCE: dim, dark, perfect for dates. Intimate environment. Has small booths, also tables, high tables as well. There is a bar. Occasionally has a private pianist that places right in the middle of the restaurant. You can sit right next to it and watch them play. LOCATION: middle of downtown Portland, it’s a great location. It’s at the top of the pink building, you can’t miss it. Come for great views. It is similar to the departure, except you can’t go out on a balcony. SERVICE: okay service, it’s always packed and I feel like not enough servers, but things get to you eventually. Very much sex segregated. Mostly if not all women are servers and all men are bartenders. FOOD: amazing food! Really great happy hour. I’ve had everything on that menu and nothing to complain about. My all time favorite that I always get is the calamari. They make it with a sweet sauce, so it’s not just simplify fried, but they’ve elevated the dish. Great portions for the price. DRINKS: this is where they get you, expensive, and most of the mixed drinks are not very tasty or high in alcohol content. I usually stick to the beers when I come here. PRICING: very reasonable prices for the food, location, views, ambiance. No complaints here.

Great service and ambiance. There are 2HH times, one in the afternoon and one at 9pm to close? But HH is only served at the bar, which may also have a live band! I called for reservations… one of the few places in Portland that takes reservations! Restaurant is on the 30th floor, are your ears ready to pop? Lavender drop — super sweet… for those who loves sugar Hibiscus Martini — tasty, sweet and strong martini! Calamari — do not order this, tasted like it was battered and fried twice, resulting in mushy bites. the squid was cut in squares instead of rings… mixed in nuts and who knows what Oven Roasted Crab cakes — this is a must, wished I ordered 2! super good and not filled with bread crumbs Steamer Clams — can’t go wrong, really good! The side bread tasted like butter and just melts! Shallot Soy glazed Beef Short Ribs — really soft, meat falls off the bone kind of dish! Mashed potatoes were good with the string beans

I would give 5 stars but I have had rude service here during one of my visits. I’ve been here 3 other times though and the staff was fast and friendly. Portland City Grill is a great place to bring someone who is visiting the city. It is in the 30th floor and has an incredible view of Portland. The regular dinner menu is great for celebrating. Check out their happy hour. You can try the tasty selection at affordable prices. Get there early though, this place fills up and there are no reservations during happy hour.

This review is for the Sunday brunch only: Located on the 30th floor of the Bancorp building in downtown Portland, Portland city Grill is the fine dining restaurant of the Restaurants Unlimited chain. Price point for the Sunday brunch is $ 42 per person plus $ 10 for bottomless Mimosa. Service is stellar. Ambiance is stellar. View is spectacular; you overlook the Willamette River and downtown Portland at large. Why three stars? Food preparation was substandard and careless considering they are a fine dining restaurant. There were two things on the menu offered to be prepared from the kitchen as opposed to grabbing your food from the buffet line. They were waffles and eggs Benedict. The waffle was a waffle, nothing to write home about. The eggs Benedict was the disappointing gem for two reasons. Number one it’s prepared in the kitchen so you expect it to be done right as I understand the chef wants to prepare the Benedict and waffles from the kitchen to make sure it’s fresh and not stale from the buffet line. Sadly the egg on my Benedict was hard boiled and the hollandaise sauce was very very lumpy. Rather than to make a scene I just left my plate on the table, the Waitress nor the busboy nor the manager even asked what was wrong with the Benedict. I’ve been to Portland City Grill on a other occasions, happy hour and dinner. That said I hate to be condemning of their brunch. I do feel they should look at the crowd that they’re trying to entertain as they were busy. I feel the should coordinate the prepared foods in the kitchen, double check and then deliver to the guests. Had they done that they would’ve known my Benedict was well over done and not deliver it to my table. But it’s done other than that, my visit was great and I will go back on another occasion for the brunch, maybe just the dinner (ps– PCG would have been a 5 star rating in my book if not for the overdone Benedict or lack of attention to detail on food)

My husband and I walked into Portland City Grill with a Groupon for brunch; 12PM reservations; and pragmatic expectations based on the mixed reviews. We were a half-hour early, but seated at a window table within a few minutes. The view was nice, even on an overcast and rainy day. The hostess and waitress were both warm, friendly, and enthusiastic about helping us understand Sunday brunch. Their brunch buffet has pretty standard fare: seafood display, hot foods; salads, breads, desserts, etc. In addition to all of that, you can order waffle and Eggs Benedict entrées from the kitchen. Coffee, milk, and juice are included. They have Bottomless Mimosas for an additional $ 10. We felt the display and quality of the food was good. The carving station has excellent ham and prime rib. The entrées were hot and the cold foods were fresh and had fast turnover, so nothing was limp or gross or smelly. Even their dessert bar was fantastic. Most places have just mini versions of desserts, but Portland City Grill had a good mix of small dessert shots with regular-sized cupcakes and lava cakes. There were a few things that keep it from being 5 stars, all minor and just preferential. First, the placement of the buffet tables along with foot traffic, made it a bit of a tight squeeze to get around. Second, the kitchen took a little while to get our Benedict and waffle entrées out. Finally, we did have one helping of crab legs that were really salty for some reason. It made me pucker, haha. But that was just one helping out of three, so hopefully it was just a freak thing. I’d say the brunch is worth a trip for a special treat and the views. We’ll probably go again someday.

On a wet afternoon, my roommate and I decided to see the city through the eyes of a bird. We recently heard of Portland City Grill and the sweeping views of the city. I was excited to try out their food as well! Here are some awesome facts about Sundays at Portland City Grill: –Happy hour runs from 12pm to 11pm. That’s a long HH! Keep in mind if your goal is to just eat, you must get a drink of some sort for HH. Yes, it can be something easy like Sprite, but theres a one drink minimum –They have a fabulous looking buffet option for $ 42. It includes things like crab legs, and various Benedicts! Something think about for you brunchers. If you like bottomless mimosas, they have an option for $ 10 extra. When we got there, OH-EM-GEE, what a gorgeous view of Portland. You have almost 360 degree views. If you’re lucky to snag a window table, you’ll be treated to a beautiful view. Apparently it’s always busy, however, we visited around noon on a Sunday and got a window seat right away. Score! Our first server seemed a little impatient with us, probably because she was almost finished with her shift. The second server was super nice and accommodating, wish I got her name. In any case, here’s what we had: –Caesar Salad for $ 4.95. For the price, it was totally worth it. Romaine and radicchio, garlic herb croutons, lemon dijon vinaigrette and reggiano parmesan. It was quite a large salad and totally worth the price! –Oven Roasted Salmon Cakes for $ 7.95. Old Bay, green goddess dressing and fresh chives. The cakes were filled with salmon, not a lot of filler. Loved the sauce, super flavorful! –Grilled Steakhouse Cheeseburger for $ 6.95. Bulleit bourbon steak sauce, lettuce, tomato, mayo and bbq chips. GREATDEAL once again! The chips were dusted with seasoning and seemed homemade. Great flavor from the burger :) Overall, it was a success. I had a relaxing time looking out to the city and enjoy good food. If you’re ever in the area, come check them out. Like the hostess mentioned, if you’re brave enough to fit for a window seat, you’ll enjoy the outside view!

Stopped in on a rare snow day in Portland for a post-brunch bloody with a view and was blown away! Everyone we talked to said, «You have to go to Portland City Grill» for the view and I am now one of those people reiterating — you have to come here for the view(and apparently the brunch)! Our bloodies were chocked full of goodies, and nice and spicy. It was cool to see the city from up above, and I bet it would be even more beautiful at night. They have a great happy hour too. My advice — come during happy hour and watch the sunset to get the best of both worlds.

Portland City Grill is a fabulous place to come for eats and drinks. The view is superb, there is almost no bad seat. They have a great happy hour! Prices are right and portions are big. It seems like they can get pretty packed for happy hour, can’t say I blame the masses for coming. It’s got to be one of the best deals in town and from the 30th floor, you just can’t beat the views. My husband ordered the Pork Riblets, the cost just over $ 6 I believe. The portion was big. The ribs? Well now, just divine! We ended up taking some of the order to go, as there was just too much for him to eat in one sitting. The ribs were just as delicious the next day. Our waitress was friendly enough and efficient. This would definitely be one of my go to places if I lived here in Portland.

Place is super nice because it’s on the 30th floor of some business building. The view is breathtaking and spectacular. The boyfriend made reservations for my birthday dinner and we had to come early to wait for a window seat. 45 minutes. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks and got some bread with butter. Drinks were awesome, but my pet peeve is cold or room temperature bread especially if the place is as fancy as this. I loved that when we were seated, they had«happy birthday» confetti sprinkled on the table. That was pretty damn awesome. They also have coat hangers next to the table which was convenient. The menu was huge, it was hard to choose one entrée. I ordered the steak, medium rare with scallops. The boyfriend ordered rack of lamp. The food came out and it was room-temperature. UGH. The temperature made the food average when it could’ve been outstanding. The waiter did come out with a mini dessert with a candle which was nice. The desert was an unique with a rice krispy base and hazelnut mouse. The boyfriend was disappointed as he asked for a dessert from the menu and to have happy birthday written on the plate. I guess they don’t do that. This place is worth the view but that’s about it. I would definitely come back to have some drinks at the bar and to look at the beautiful city lights. Other than that, dinner was alright.
