The pad thai was great, a bit greasy but overall I’d go there again. Service was quick though and for 6 dollars it’s a solid choice if you’re craving some Thai.

Curry dish is not like anywhere else in American. Its an actual stir fry! Its great! Just quite oily. First time ordered hot spicy, couldn’t eat it(I grew up eating Szechuan food daily meal). 2nd time medium, and was great!!!

I’ve eaten at many of the Thai carts around town and this is my favorite. Consistently good food on whatever dish I try. And the people working there are friendly.

SWEETPADKEEMAO If you ‘re into sweet pad kee mao, this is the place. However, IMHO the pad kee mao around the corner to the right of Mr Taco is more authentic and for a dollar less.

#2 mango cashew chicken was excellent. The ordering system was easy and the cart looked really clean. The staff was friendly and turned the food out quickly. I’m looking forward to going back again to try more of the menu.

I found this place by accident about a month ago. I work as a chef in one of the Thai restaurants in the Pearl. I was hungry and happened to be at the cart. As a Thai chef, I don’t usually PAY for Thai food, well, why would I when I can cook it myself? But I found that funny for a Thai food cart with a white dude serving food. So I just wanted to know how good can they be. OMG was I surprised!!! I’m pretty proud of my own cooking and cannot easily be pleased with anything called«Thai Food» beside my own cooking or any food from my cooking masters. I asked the chef, who is a young looking that is a little over half of my age, to cook something that she’d think I would come back for. She made me a mango and cashew nut dish with a quality that is way above any food cart standard. The mango is fresh and chicken isn’t neither over nor under cooked. I was impressed big time of the dish. I have been back at once a week just for the dish. I later found out that the girl is a daughter of a well known master chef from one of a super popular Thai restaurants in Portland. Well I guess, an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree after all. If you are in the area and want a good Thai food, why don’t you stop by and ask the girl to cook you something that would make you come back. You never know, you might find yourself a new favorite dish from this little parking lot. I know I found one.(maybe it’s time for me to ask for a different dish HAHAHA)

What I ate: Red curry with chicken, basil fried rice Visit date: September 4, 2011 First time? Yes. Twas kismet. We walked over to the pods when we got hungry and they were the only ones open… What I love about this place is that when you say spicy, they really give it to you spicy! Four stars immediately! :) The red curry had a rich, creamy flavor and they put A LOT of bamboo shoots. I am a fan of that! The fried rice was just like comfort food; it wasn’t too salty and it had a hardy portion of veggies. The portion sizes are huge here. We had a lot of leftover fried rice and it tasted just as good(maybe even better?) later that day. Kop khun ka, Ploy Thai! See you next time!

I ran by the food carts at 5th& Oak yesterday because I was starving and in-between errands. Being that it was Labor Day weekend, some carts weren’t open — but I was pleased to find Ploy Thai open. I have never eaten at this cart before and decided to order the most basic dish because I like to see how different Thai places do their chicken pad thai. It was good. I am looking forward to try other food items from Ploy Thai in the future.

Garlic Pepper Pork was really excellent — with brown rice and veggies — pretty healthy(went with pork as I’m getting a little tired of chicken). Medium spicy had the perfect amount of heat. Great owners too!

I visit Portland about four times a year for business, and have always wanted to try the food trucks. So, I went in search of this food truck based on a review I saw at . They have a dish called Garlic Pepper, which offers a healthier alternative to the curries and fried dishes. I wish I had taken a picture, but by the time I got back to the office the smell was killing me, and I dug in! I ordered the Garlic Pepper with chicken. They mistakenly made it with pork. However, though they made a mistake, they told me about it and offered to correct it. They offered to remake the dish, and I said no and they then offered a free drink to make up for it. I had already purchased a drink, so I didn’t need another one, but their customer service attitude moved them back up to five stars. The dish came with brown rice, steamed vegetables(cabbage, broccoli & carrots) and the pork cooked in the garlic and pepper. This was absolutely a fantastic dish! It cost me $ 6.50 including a Diet Coke, and I had as much food as some restaurants serve during dinner time for two to three times the price. Definitely go and check them out. We all know that parking is a bear around the food truck«pens», but there is a lot right behind the trucks where you can get a half hour for $ 2 if you can’t get a metered spot.
