This place has good service. The staff is friendly and fun. Unlimited TT balls is a fun benefit. Pork nachos here are great. Lighting isn’t perfect for TT but it’s meant to be recreational and not tournament anyway. I will be back.

I have been popping into different places to explore two nights a week before our paddling clinics. This time we found Pips & Bounce. Interesting name but what kind of place is this? It turns out to be the only Ping Pong bar and grill I have ever seen or even heard of. It’s like a pool hall but with ping pong tables. Crazy! Walk in you find everything easily with a good layout and bright lights. Found the bar right away. Looking at the rum row and found the Black Seal and Ron Zacapa. Plus One Star just for having the right rum. They have a full bar with a small selection of beer(this is portland, anything less than 10 craft beers on tap is a small selection) Next the food — the menu looked interesting with a Korean influence. So I went for the Kimbap and Pork Tacos. There was nothing special with the tacos, the corn tortillas cracked at the bottom and everything was falling out… They tasted ok enough but their salsa was some jar salsa. The Kimbap is a rice roll with some stuff. They made it earlier that day so the rice was all dry and hard. It’s not something I want to eat again. I also ordered the cheese and meat plate. I think it was Kraft cheddar, Colby and pepper jack cheese cubes with pepperoni, and two other type of meets that all came from the local grocery store — its eatable but not very good. All this food is not restaurant quality at these prices. It would be better just to have pretzels and peanuts. Their kitchen needs a lot of help, recommend hiring an executive chef to redo the whole kitchen from top to bottom, recreate the menu and retrain the staff. One Major Positive — The manager asked what I thought of their food. Do you really want to know because it is not going to be pleasant? I asked. «Yep, hit me», was their attitude and he grabbed his notebook. It is good to see that they know and want to do better. After the above description I gave them some references to other local restaurants to experience the food and food quality. Then I said they need to create their own unique dishes using top quality ingredients. That is when they will have the trifecta(Drinks, Food and Fun) for a true destination venue. Ping Pong — wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Thirty minuets for 10 bucks. Not bad but you don’t have to pick up all the balls you missed and I missed lots and lots. I talked two of my friends into playing and we had a blast. There are a few buckets of balls at the nearby counter within a step or two. Grab a handful and play, and play, and play. Two Stars for the fun factor. Awesome! Recap: Bar: Great Food: Not So Ping Pong: Lotssa Fun Return: For the fun and drinks

This place is such a super fun venue! I’ve heard of bars centered on billiards, bowling or even darts… But ping pong? Who would have thought that playing ping pong would be so much fun! The venue space and layout here was nice and open, had just enough light, good music, the price per hour is decent, and everything was just aptly conducive to both playing some competitive or fun table tennis or getting to know old and new friends. My friends also had some pretty good drinks that were well priced. Wish they had a place like this is Seattle!

Like many many other reviews indicated, this venue offers fun experience with ping pong, decent selection of drinks, but really not a great place for food. We had some sushi, sliders, and meat/cheese plates, they were all disappointing. Come here for some fun but eat else where.

Fun but really bad food. In Portland we’re so spoiled with amazing food everywhere that I was surprised at how bad it was. If it weren’t for the ping pong this place would have no chance. Try harder on the food and you’ll have lines out the door.

Ping pong? Beer? Ping pong AND beer OMG! It’s like I’m a kid again playing ping-pong in my father’s basemnt, only this time with a tasty local brew in my hand(as opposed to Miller High life at my 2003– downstairs ping pong table). Pips& Bounce, you are the reason I can brag about beating my fiancé in ping pong, bravo!

are you a professional ping pong player? This place isn’t for you. are you a professional drinker? PERFECT. Good selection of cocktails and a decent selection of beers, this«sports bar» is perfect for a casual night out with friends… although drinking while playing ping pong can be difficult but who cares… Constantly re-filled ping pong balls(never worry about running around) and clean bar: I have no complaints about this place.

How does this place have such good reviews? I met a group for a birthday party– a group of 30-somethings, some with toddlers, most without. The place is lit up like a circus and has a small food menu, but a full bar. The beer list is decent, actually several of my favorite beers were on tap or in cans. It’s around the corner from Sparky’s Pizza on Belmont, it’s a good thing you can bring pizza over to this place– the food is awful. One couple bought food and it came out looking pale and sad. That should have warned us but we got the meat and cheese board anyway. I expected a board that you would get at any Portland restaurant– couple types of meats, different types of cheese, a few apple slices and bread. That’s a Portland meat and cheese board, right? Instead we got cubed cheddar, jack, and colby, and who knows what the meats were. My husband called in a $ 12 learning experience. Bottom line, if you go for ping pong, eat before. You’ll be good on dranks, though.

We had a company event at Pips & Bounce last night. I had been wanting to try this place and had heard great things. I mean a Ping Pong bar? How could that be bad? We had reserved a spot in the bar with 2 tables just for our group. There was a personalized sign there and we had a couple tables to go with it. The ping pong tables are of good quality and we played to our hearts content for a couple hours. The best thing about Pips is that there are pong balls EVERYWHERE! Seriously, they must go through pong balls like crazy here from people stepping on them all the time. They have baskets of pong balls right next to the table and they tell you not to worry about chasing and picking up all the balls… just grab a new one and go! They have the coolest, most ingenious contraption(a badminton racket with a net on it) to go around and pick up all the balls themselves. The bar was surprisingly nice too. They have a list of specialty Pong-Tails ranging from $ 7 – 10 and my wife got one that was pretty complex. I was impressed with the mixing. I just got a beer which was $ 5. Some of our people got nachos which looked good and large portion. Great for groups and would definitely recommend.

One of my friends has been trying to get me to go here for a long time, and for whatever reason I thought it was a divey sports bar of some sort so I never was enthused about going. Boy, was I wrong! This place is really spacious, plays amazing music, has really nice décor, full bar. I love it here! Fun place to go with a group or even just a friend to hang out, drink, and play ping pong. Even if you’re not into ping pong, you’ll enjoy the drinks and music.

Ping pong and beers?! I love this concept. The place was the perfect amount of busy on a Tuesday night. We got a table and a beer right away and played for 30 minutes. I loved that they have plenty of balls available in buckets so we didn’t have to chase all of our wild balls. Not sure I would pay full price($ 10/hr) to play, but it was definitely worth it with the Unilocal 50% off coupon.

Wow! This place is so cool! Ping pong bar? Awesome! They have food and drinks, which is great, and from what I remember, they are all pretty affordable. The way the ping pong works is you pay per hour. So YOu start a tab and pay up front and you wait for a table to open up. They have tables in regular light and they have tables in BLACK light. Whaaaat? Awesome. It’s really fun to play and to just have fun with it, it doesn’t matter is you keep dropping the balls all over either because they come around and pick them up for you and they also have baskets of balls for you to use by each end of the table, score! You can also sign up for a membership if you want… Not sure how much that costs but if you really like ping pong and don’t have your own table, why not?

Not a restaurant or bar. I just want to say that right away. We went here based on Unilocal stars but didn’t read the reviews much and thought this place was for food and drink. It is ACTUALLY a ping pong hall that happens to serve food and cocktails. Ok so we made a reservation for a table ahead of time, played ping pong, ate food which was pretty yummy, and drank decent cocktails. But were pretty pissed to find out that our ping pong cost $ 40 for one hour plus the cost of food and drinks. So two ppl came to over $ 100! Apparently they charge you double if u make a reservation! So u basically are punished for not being a walk in. We questioned the bill and they explained ping pong is twice as much when you call ahead. What a joke!

It doesn’t get much simpler than this… Ping-Pong Tables and a Bar. Had an awesome time having some drinks and playing a casually competitive game of two-on-two ping-pong with some friends. I think the real beauty of this place is that you don’t have to worry about tracking down a ping-pong ball after each point. There’s a sack of balls(junior high joke intended) at each table that’s get replenished like every 10 mins by the staff so you can just keep playing and drinking uninterrupted. Not much to it, a cool place to hang out and have a drink without the monotony of sitting at a bar. Five Star experience from me.

if you enjoy ping pong, this is the place to go — this is a true ping pong paradise with lots of tables, paddles and balls! lots of BALLS! this means you don’t need to run around after someone hits it badly. they stock up baskets full of balls so you just concentrate on your game. they have food here but, haven’t tried yet. drinks are available as well to either improve or impede your play. it’s fun and if you enjoy ping pong then their monthly membership is the way to go.

A lot of people compare Austin to Portland but you know one thing Austin doesn’t have? An awesome ping pong bar! With so much to see and only a few days in Portland, my traveling partner and I still chose to visit Pips & Bounce two days in a row. If you love ping pong then you’ll love this place and if you don’t love ping pong but you just want something new to do while drinking with your friends then you’ll also love this place. The drinks were surprisingly strong, which after a while made our ping ponging deteriorate. Our balls were flying off the table. But fear not! You don’t have to stop your match and go chase down your own balls… they have people for that. They walk around with this little ball scoop and put the balls back in the conveniently located baskets. Amazing! We had so much fun at Pips & Bounce. +1 Portland…

The people here were helpful and know their sport. The champion table was solid and the fun atmosphere added to the overall appeal. I didn’t get to eat here, but the food smelt great. I expected this placed to be packed, but it was actually pretty quiet. Overall, this is a good place to throw down in ping pong. The bar section was well rounded and a full kitchen make this a fun group outing.

«Woohoo! As good as it gets» I can not imagine a cooler place to hang out in PDX. IT has a plethora of table tennis tables, when we went around 6pm on a Saturday, and we had not problem finding a table. You can rent tables by the 30 minute or 60 minute window. And, I believe they even have a happy hour(That I think is about $ 2/hr cheaper) – you might want to verify that before you check it out ;-) Also, they have good beer, and an excellent taproots. Also, they have excellent food! We got the green pizza and it had the spot, the pesto was not sharp, it had really good flavor, and the cheese was melted just right. I can’t wait to go back!

I have mixed emotions. The ping pong is cool, but everything else falls short. The food is tiny and flavor is kind of bland. The cocktails are good, but not great. It’s a fairly new place, so maybe they will improve as they start settling in. I think the concept is great though.

This is the type of business that makes you wish you thought of it. Brilliant location just steps from multiple bars and restaurants, Pips & Bounce is a fun atmosphere. Didn’t have any food here but the pizzas looked good. Full bar and drink prices were good. I’m sure there are people out there who play really well, but let me tell you — ping pong is the best thing in the world when you’ve had a few drinks and you’re playing really really bad. $ 8 for 30 minutes seemed like a pretty good deal for all the laughs we had.
