I love the food here. Everything tastes fresh and not too greasy. I really enjoy the P21, phở with tofu and broccoli. Really generous portions for the price. We always get take out so I can’t comment on service, although I hope to dine in sometime soon. My husband has gotten a few meat dishes which were really delicious.

We are having one of those perfectly gorgeous winter days in Portland — bright sunshine, blue sky, and very cold and crisp. No complaints from me for the weather or for my trip to eat the meatball Phở at Phở Nguyen. I’ve had complaints in the past about lack of good and connected service offered to me while treating other patrons are part of groups as old friends. Like I mentioned before, even though I might be single and eating in their establishment, my money is just as green as the next customer in line. It really is a pleasure to award five stars today. My server greeted me immediately and was quite friendly and accommodating. She looked at me straight in the eye and listened to what I wanted. I asked for more lime wedges for the Phở and mentioned that my pop can was broken at the top. Both of these situations were catered to immediately. My Phở was served within about five minutes and full of perfectly-cooked vermicelli and meatballs along with its tray of sprouts and Thai Basil and chili slices and various other sauces. I love being able to add what I want to get all the flavors married together to my satisfaction. It also was lovely and hot in temperature, just perfect for this cold but sunny day. I even forget and slurp while I’m eating. Perhaps bad manners, but also in perfect taste! I found the space itself not at all cavernous and noisy like before; not sure if that was me being persnickety at the time or if improvements had been made. It is still very clean. I love the mixture of all kinds of people of different ages enjoying the food here. Now after all that beautiful hot soup, I’m sleepy and relaxed and would like to nap. I can’t because I have to come back and work some more to earn my next bowl of Phở when I return. Oh poor pitiful me to have such a complaint!

My husband and I were driving from Florence, Oregon(along the coast) as we stopped by there on our en route trip from San Fran to Seattle. We were both craving a hot bowl of phở as the weather has been miserably cold and rainy! It was christmas eve so alot of places were closed, but we gave it a shot and called and realized they would be open until 2 pm! The reviews were spot on about the food. We ordered 3 dishes: 1) Special phở soup noodle 2) duck salad with soup noodles(the duck was moist and the salad was fresh with a nice garlic fish sauce dressing) 3) egg rolls The food came out really fast and the soup was really hot and fresh! The most authentic phở place I have ever been to!

This restaurant never disappoints. Portions are substantial, and their service is better than the average Vietnamese restaurant. Their soups are wonderful, and their salad rolls are one of the best in this side of Portland.

Awesome phở. Had the grilled shrimp appetizer which was really good. It had a subtly sweet glaze and was cooked just right. Try the phở broth before you start adding things! You really need to taste it first; you might find that you don’t need to add more than the basil…

Me and my fiancé LOVE this place! Food is great! It is our favorite little dinner in a quick spot. Super fast with food to the table, while still amazingly fresh! Attentive waitstaff and friendly. Very well priced!!! I should have reviewed them sooner but I been slacking!

I went to this restaurant just before they close on Monday for lunch. Before I go I called to find their address and when I walked in she asked if I am the same caller. Only took them less and 30 seconds to get us a table and around 2 minutes to take over order. We got our food very very fast. It was fresh and tasty. Very good quality and good quantity. Will be back soon.

This is probably the best place to get Phở in all of Portland! Their broth is super flavorful(no hoisin/siracha necessary) even at night! I was told many Phở restaurants dilute their broth at night as they run out — but not this place! I also like getting the Bun Thit Nuong here — refreshing, and plenty of vegetables for a hot summer day. The grilled pork isn’t loaded with chunks of fat, and I enjoy the crunchy spring rolls on top. Service is pretty quick and tables are cleaned quickly. Definitely coming more frequently.

Not the best phở I’ve ever had but pretty good and they make solid vermicelli bowls and rice plates. Having grown up on Vietnamese food, I’ve tried A LOT of places and this one is better than most. Feels authentic inside and not too fancy like some phở places downtown. Prices are a bit higher than I would like to pay but in the end, it’s still a solid meal for the price. I think the phở was $ 8.50, vermicelli maybe $ 11 and rice plate around $ 11 too. I just moved into the neighborhood 4 months ago and already I’ve patronized this place no less than 8 times. With the cold and rainy weather, I’ll be equalling my visits if not more over the next 4 months.

Great neighborhood Vietnamese joint with a good variety of Bun, Phở, other types of soups and lots of rice dishes. I would’ve given it 5 stars except my husband’s imperial rolls on Bun were small and few(2 total cut pieces). My Bun Bo Hue was not as hot(temperature-wise) as it could be. But I tend to like it scalding hot. Overall it was very tasty. The portions are substantial and value is good.

A solid phở restaurant. We like the #9. I need to remember to request no cilantro as that comes standard in the dish. Ordered a side of rice and added phở broth, which was enjoyed by our toddler.

If your looking for Great food and fast sevice this is the right place. It’s simple yet beautiful inside. This makes it a very clean environment to enjoy your meal. They have lots of tables. I can see them fitting a large happy celebration inside. We ordered our food to go. We ordered 3 different meals. All of us were very pleased with our orders. They have RED Bean bubble tea and several different types of bubbles and teas. So happy our neighbor told us about this place.

TOGOORDER: Phở was ok. I had their P-1 without the tripe(my pregnant tummy does not like tripe). Some of the meat was a little chewy and the flavor of the broth was a little different than I’m used to. It definitely had more of whatever spices are used to flavor phở broth and was a little salty for me. I got my order to go and they magically pulled out a convenient baggie of the bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeño ready to go to stick into my bag. Unfortunately, the bean sprouts weren’t very fresh(a little soft and kind of clear… but not slimy or mushy so that’s good?) and a lot of the basil leaves were black. I tried their taro bubble tea. That was super yummy. The boba pearls were not hard and tasted great. Not sure if I’ll come back but if I do, I’ll definitely try their bubble tea again. The lady who waited on me was very nice and my wait time was just a few minutes.

Okay food, nice lady behind the counter. I have Only ordered to go, the down side, I think this place is kind of expensive for what you get in the meals, I love the salad rolls though they are priced well.

Fabulous food, the best Vietnamese I’ve had in the US. Great flavours and fresh ingredients. The staff were helpful and recommended a couple of dishes. We had the steamed duck and it was so moist and tasty. Yumm! We will be coming here at least once a week, at least!

I love the Phở Tai and the P-10 which is Phở Tai Gu(round steak and fatty brisket. The Phở broth here is excellent and the veg always fresh. Nice people too, we always bug them to put the tables and seats outside early since we like to eat with our dog and they are always happy to serve us. They open at 10am so try it for breakfast too! So good :) My only complaint is if you sit inside, especially to the left side of the entrance it smells a bit, kind of like un-fresh mildew towel smell, I do wish they would keep it nice and clean so that the smells don’t interfere with enjoying their good phở.

This joint has been around for 10 yrs and has been right under my nose so to speak. West side phở consists of old favorites like Phở Hung and Phở Van but newer yet well established Viet eateries such as Tan Tan, Vivi’s and Phở Tango are going strong. Then there are reboots like Phở King Good(yes very much intended implication) that are okay. They all have their merits and cons but all are very tasty in their own right. Located not too far from Raleigh Hills Fred Meyer, Phở Nguyen might be a bit«far» but I had to finally give Phở Nguyen a try and I’m glad I did. It is very good and can stand on it’s own. Now I’ve had their phở, bun Bo hue, Hu tieu Bo kho, and bun thit nuong. All very tasty. One could make an argument their broth could be just a touch more hearty, but I’m being picky. Their grilled pork and chicken dishes are well marinated. Their fish sauce also I’d say is a bit on the tame side but one can add more spice or fish sauce from the condiments on the table. Freshness and consistency I’d say a definite plus. Their meats and veggies always fresh to me. Is it going to surpass well known east side joints like Phở Oregon, no it won’t. But if you want a different Viet cuisine fix vs all the other west side Viet joint, Phở Nguyen is absolutely a worthy addition!
