I want to love Partners in Time. I really do. But it is SO overpriced I just can’t. There are other great antique stores in Portland that are priced appropriately, so it’s hard to justify going to a frigid(or overwhelmingly hot, depending on the season) warehouse to browse totally overpriced merchandise.

This place is INCREDIBLE. We recently purchased a buffet, a chest of drawers, and an armoire and we are thrilled. My husband and I stumbled upon it one day strolling in the neighborhood heading to Jamison Square. We just bought a big, old Victorian house in Irvington and this place is a HUGE space packed to the gills in anything we would ever want to furnish our home. And believe me, we have been hitting every antique dealer in Portland. This place is the best. The prices are not a bargain but the pieces are amazing and worth it. Mostly European and Asian antiques with just a handful of Pakistani items thrown in, probably to support the owner’s home country. And speaking of the owner, he is a warm and wonderful man, and very knowledgable about all things antique. He has been in business over 30 years and has mastered the right balance of not putting on the pressure yet being quite attentive. If you are in the market for antique furniture, you must stop by Partners in Time.

They offer a large selection of antique wrought iron bakers’ racks and tiered thingamabobs along with assorted wooden objects like chairs, chests, drawers, tables, hutches, benches & Asian dressers from a long, long time ago in a galaxy not far, far away(just the Euro & Asian continents). They’re currently having a 50% off sale because they are moving to a different location; but the prices were a little steep for me :( The«showroom» is packed with things, so take your time to explore the nooks and crannies. They also have a second story, which you can access through some antique stairs; just hold onto the rail. The no pressure sales staff was friendly and encourage you to take your time. TIP: Apparently, you may score a teeny discount if you are willing to pay by cash or check.
