Awsome burger joint! Straight food, not too many extras. Very simple nice place. Chicago themed, but not«in your face.» Service was excellent! I had the house burger, fries and drink. $ 9 for a great burger meal. Cooked perfectly. Real thick cut bacon, and an egg on top. Fries were super delicious, came with a side of house sauce. Don’t know what’s in it but its great. Most importantly, they were not pushy and annoying while eating. I like to be left to chew my food w/o answering a bunch of questions! Very enjoyable experience!

Sad… It is being dismantled today, so it is now permanently closed. Another Groupon bites the dust… UPDATE: There is now a sign on the building stating that a new business, «Jerusalem Café,» is coming soon. Fadul, the current owner, also owns two Jerusalem Café locations in Vancouver, WA. The website(with menu) can be seen here:

I’ve been here once. The service was excellent, very friendly. I had the Italian Beef and the person I was with had the Philly. Both of us definitely approved of the sandwiches. The fries are outstanding and have just the right amount of Cajun spice. All things considered, the prices are reasonable. Minor: I think this place might do better without table service. The service is excellent, but I’m not sure it’s necessary considering the nature of the establishment. Definitely recommended. The food and service are excellent. Will be returning often.

Dang… Chicago style hot dog and fries with a house made fry sauce. With a drink the whole basket was $ 7 and they had it ready for me in under 10 minutes so that I could catch my bus. As I scarfed down my vienna dog loaded with the works, and slightly seasoned fries at the bus stop, a smile crept on my face. I was back in the midwest even if for just a moment. This is a fantastic neighborhood eatery. A great representation of the Greek Chicagoan community smack dab in the middle of Portland.

I got the Chicago Dog($ 4.99): an all-beef dog w/yellow mustard, neon relish, fresh tomato, onions, sport peppers, and a pickle spear on a poppy seed bun. The presentation of the Chicago Dog was amazingly colorful and just screamed«Chicago Dog!» Just a burst of lovely flavors just hit every taste bud. Tangy mustard; the bite of white onion; sweet relish; mild sport pepper heat; the salty, meaty wiener; and the refreshing tomato. What can I say… it’s a classic Chicago Dog. Just having that poppy seed bun was a bonus. I’ve seen establishments that try to sell a Chicago Dog without the poppy seed bun; I just shake my head at that. I did not detect celery salt in my Chicago Dog(it’s also not on the menu description). While it’s true that there are several variations of the Chicago Dog, I feel celery salt should be a part of that Chicago Dog experience. Ultimately, this Chicago Dog was worth the $ 4.99. While the service was good, there wasn’t much activity at peak lunch hour on a Saturday. The workers were busying themselves by texting on their cell phone or reading, which just looks unprofessional. The décor reminds me of an upscale Chicago-influenced sports bar(but there’s also a banner for the Portland Trail Blazers in there, too). It’s a very bright and inviting place. Old Town seems like a good place to go to watch a sporting event. Overall, a positive experience.

Let me first say that this is NOT going to be enjoyable for me. The owners are very nice. This review is only for the hot dogs. There was a microwave involved in the preparation of the dogs… what? We got 2 hot dog baskets(served on plates)= $ 16.99 …huh? Chicago Hot dog stand? nope. Yes there is Chicago memorabilia, but that’s about it. This place is a little confused. The owner did«live» in Chicago, but he ain’t «from» there.
