Oc House

I like it! I can’t find this kinda restaurant in Portland. I like how they cook snails, and clams. They put a lot of onions and herbs on it to get rid of their smell, that’s why i like it. I like how it taste even tho its kinda chewy I wish they can cook it right. I also like the green sauce that they served with. I’m not sure what is the ingredient in it but it’s a bit spicy and I liked it. They serve in a small portion tho which is fine I guess.

After ordering two different snail plates, and over-​deep-​fried frog legs, my son and I left STARVING. I don’t know where the razor clams were from, some unknown country, but they were NOT from Oregon, were not fresh, and were overcooked and rubbery, not bite-​able. Just chewy in one, bit chewing, rubbery, gulp.
The fish tank is lacking sufficient care. I felt sorry for the fish in such a dead tank with a lack of bottom sand and suffering in cloudy water.
The coconut sauce from one of the snail dishes was okay, but then anything tastes better with coconut cream or milk in the sauce.

I really don’t know what the fuss is all about but this place is my favorite so far.
We always get lau thai, oc huong, and luc lac. Those were delicious. And importantly, the price was not bad compared to other vietnamese restaurants. The waiter was exceptionally nice as well. This is going to be my number one spot to go. I wish they did more advertisement or something or put a sign out letting people know. It is pretty hard to see. I always seem to drive past by it on accident.

Great variety of Oc. Also the hot pot had pretty fresh meat, seafood, and vegetables. The service was good too! Came with a large group and the servers there were very attentive to us.

I went there yesterday and was totally disappointed. First concern is that all the foods we ordered werent great and they all came in small portion and I believed homemade foods are way better than this restaurant for such a pricey. Second, we ordered a dish of squid and the waitress decided to replace the item they didnt have with something else with telling us ahead of time and at the end she said that it is what it is according to the way of their restaurant. my question is «what is the point of order when the waitress can just decide the food for the customer?» Ignore all the facts above, what made me extremely pissed was the customer service. The waitress/​cahsier didnt even bother to bring us the bill and my friend had to came to her reception table to grab it and saw that she was too busy watching a makeup lesson on Youtube. I would never write a review and this is my first time in life as it is more than what I could tolerate. If you ever like to try it out, I hope you will have a better experience than I had. But for me, it’s a done deal!!!
