I use my sewing machine to make items for my Etsy shop, which is my full time job, and it broke a week or so before Christmas. ABSOLUTEDISASTER. I was super slammed with orders and had to buy a sub-par sewing machine to tide me over while my baby, R2-Sew2 was in the shop. It took a bit longer than I expected, but I honestly thought that it was gone for good. I have a Husqvarna Designer SE from 2008, so when it stopped turning on after being turned off I just about lost it. Those machines are expensive as a car! I had to wait almost a month, but they did repair it and addressed all of the other issues I had been having with the machine as well(broken needle threader, bobbin sensor not responding.) Overall, I am very pleased that they were able to fix everything.

Montavilla has always taken fabulous care of me! When I was a kid and interested in sewing, but poorer than a church mouse, they gave me my first sewing machine and case for free! It was a great starter machine and really fed my passion for sewing. Today I went in with my machine because it was jammed and making a loud squealing sound. It wasn’t a name brand machine, but they didn’t treat me any differently and still gave me amazing attention. He quoted me that it would be $ 89.95, their standard rate for basic repairs. I knew it wouldn’t be cheap and was already broke due to the holiday, but needed my machine for some last minute Christmas crafting. After the technician listened carefully to my problem, he started right in on trying to troubleshoot it. He showed me how to oil my machine and made some adjustments to clips in the feed dog assembly. After running it for a few minutes, the squeal was gone. He gave it a rest and then started it up again. The squeal was still gone! I then asked where I could buy the oil and the tech disappeared for a minute and came back with a small bottle that he said I could have for free and said we were all set. I asked him where I need to go to check out and he said we were good. No charge. I was floored. It had only been about 15 minutes and my machine was as good as new. I will definitely be back! Thank you for amazing customer service! :)

I have taken a couple of machines in here for repair, and had to return them several times for the same issues. Once I bought a machine on Ebay(I know! I know! never again!!), and it worked for a little while, then the timing went out. I took it in to Montavilla, and they«fixed it», after several weeks, and several phone calls; oh yeah, and I went in there for something else, and asked if my machine was ready, and they said no. After driving clear across town back to my house, they call and say(as if I had not been in there at all) that my machine is ready!!! I took it home, and sewed again, and the same thing happened. I took it back, and they said they would send it back to the factory to have the defective part replaced. They did, and after about a month, I get the machine back, with a few chips out of the body during shipping. UUGGGGHHH!!! Started to sew on it, and after a short time, it did it again. I have given up on that one. I took my last machine(a new Pfaff, middle-of the line model) after the thread kept jamming up. They fixed it, again after about a month,(I had a client waiting for a dress; I had to use the cheapy brother), and after a finishing the client’s dress, making some drapes for another client, and then on New years eve, I was working feverishly on my own fabulous party dress, and it futzed out in the very last steps of my dress. I had to sew myself into the dress, and leave to back quarter unhemmed(no one noticed; it was organza). So, I took the machine back. To their credit, they took the machine back with no arguments, and even fixed it on the spot this last time(whether it stays fixed remains to be seen). Whew! Thanks for letting me vent!!!
