Horrible place we had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated after having a reservation and then 35 minutes for the server to come and take our order the server was not Friendly and used to disappear after making brief appearances and before we ask him a question he is gone. He didn’t explain how many courses are there. We over ordered. Also made wrong recommendations we told him we don’t want anything sweet he recommended something sweet. We will never go back.

Food and service have declined since we were here over a year ago. They now only give a normal size napkin(you need more when you eat with your hands). One of the orders were messed up. I would say the food is average at best, except for the lentil soup, which was great. The mint tea was cold and the service was quite slow(this was a Monday evening). I don’t think I will return.

If there were negative stars that is what I’d give this place. We had reservations for Saturday night at 6. It was a very special occasion with close friends to celebrate a retirement. We had confirmed the reservation and we arrived just before 6. The entry was packed and we made our way to the host. Yes we had a reservation but we were told to” go find a bar and have a few drinks because it would be at least an hour, maybe more”! No apology? Nothing. We left and ended up having a wonderful dinner at Caffe Mingo! I should have paid attention to the numerous negative reviews. There are so many great choices with awesome service and people that care. Don’t go here. Simple enough.

Food was very good but service was surly until toward the end(maybe when the tip was looming). The waiter did not want to accept our Groupon, which said it was valid any day but New Year and Valentine’s Day. Most distressing was that the waiter told me that the B’stilla Royale was«vegetarian,» maybe because I wanted to order a la carte, which was not allowed on weekends(not mentioned on their website). Last time I checked, chicken was not a vegetable. Thus, a tossup: plentiful, delicious food; service with an attitude.

Went there on a Tuesday night… it wasn’t as busy and we didn’t get any belly dancers. which was fine. We knew that. Service was great. Our waiter was well informed about what was on the menu and able to explain the items on it. He was also very friendly. The food was well seasoned, very tasty! The beef, a little dry… but maybe that’s how it’s served in Morocco. The appetizer(which I forget the name but it’s pictured. the pastry filled with meats and scrambled eggs with the powered sugar on top). I have never had anything like it. It was really really good. REALLY good and I wouldn’t mind having that for breakfast! Of course there’s no silverware so you have to eat with your hands… which was an experience all by itself. The place is kind of dark but it’s decorated Moroccan style… not American style or American-Moroccan style. You will have to think a little less American and just go with it. I would recommend going here on a date if you are serious about the other person… it will give you a good indicator if that person is adventurous, fun to be around and can laugh at themselves. We had a really good time.

This reminds me of Sultan Tan in Toronto. It serves traditional Moroccan dish as well as nighty belly dancing. We came on the evening of Boxing Day, the restaurant was full on main floor but pretty empty down stair. We were greeted by our server who made recommendations to our order. We both had 5 course dinner shared by two people. The appetizer salad is nicely seasoned and appetizing. Next comes huge Moroccan chicken pie. The chicken pie is sweet on the outside while salty inside with fluffy exterior. We had grilled lamb kebab and Tagine chicken with honey almond on top. I don’t have much comment for the entrée because it tastes average. Finally we had rice pudding with mint tea. We really enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance here, and belly dancing performance is also quite intriguing. They try to serve authentic experience so they don’t provide utensils and we had to feed ourselves using our hands. The experience overall is good but I will have to say the food is average. I do think the price point is fair and we were both very full after the evening.

Gluten for punishment We walked in and were(eventually) greeted with a strangely overpowering smell of cumin. After inquiring about vegan options, the host directed us downstairs to the basement(dungeon). Along the way, we passed two HUGE baskets of stale looking bread. He sat us at a small table that had a a pole/column that blocked my eyesight. I asked the waitress, a young lady with bright red hair(and an attitude to match), if we could switch seats. She seemed dumbfounded by my request. She moved us to a corner table, extremely close to a couple that were having a romantic interlude. The dungeon was literally empty at his time. We looked over the menu and watched the server cart the said basket of sad looking bread to the few tables. Each table taking what they needed. I saw small children, babies, and adults sticking their hands into the basket. Gross ! Game changer. We decked to bolt. We finished our drinks and motored. Never again…

Amazing Moroccan food and ambiance. Such a fun place for a night out with friends and family, or even a date night.

Amazing experience! Expect bold flavors and a full stomach when you leave. Waiters are friendly and very helpful. Belly dancing performances while you eat offers wonderful entertainment. My favorite part is having my hands washed with rose water after the meal. Great price for generous servings.

Great food, great service(if you get the older and clearly more experienced gentleman as your server and not one of the stupid lazy kids.) Even if it wasn’t following several courses of delicious food, the mint tea they bring at the end alone is worth the trip. As my grandmother would say, it’s like an angel pissing on your tongue.

This place is just dump now. I kept coming here for past 6 – 7 years hoping for that same first time experience but no. Smaller than ever portions Ruder than ever«service» Always neglected Food is low quality — we both had stomach aches It’s so dark in there yet it smells like dirty carpet — what are you trying to hide? Oh yeah, that this place is a DUMP.

We went here for my husbands birthday and it was an amazingly fun and entertaining experience. They didn’t miss a beat. We made a reservation, which I recommend doing, because they can fill up quickly. I’m plant based, and there were many options available. Most of the courses that came with the entrees were within those parameters too which was awesome. The seating is cosy. Couches and ottomans and low tables. Very intimate. Everything is eaten without silverware. They come around with this hand washing basin before and after the courses and everyone gets a towel. My favorite part was the beautiful belly dancer and the music. I think it added to the exotic festivity. They have the dancers every Saturday at 8:30. The food was very delicious, I had the Moussaka eggplant with garlic tomato sauce. It was very savory and delicious. Everyone else in my party loved their meals as well. There is tea service at the end with delicious mint tea and our kind server gave us a complimentary dessert complete with candle. All and all it was the perfect destination for a special occasion, I highly recommend. They really take care of their guests here. Also for 5 people it was extremely reasonable.

Must try! I’m a French national, a country now overrun with northern African influence, the origin of couscous, and it was absolutely delicious. I would suggest the a la carte the Marrakech couscous with lamb. Be prepared to eat like a traditional northern African. Enjoy. P. S. try the mint tea as a digestive. Very traditional and delicious.

The food is yummy! The mint hot tea is perfect. The wait is terrible! It was only me and my sister and it took them forever. We were there for 2 hours and 15 min. And the meat was cold. Other then that it was really good. :)

I love taking friends here. Wonderful food and a great place for groups. They’re usually a packed house when the belly dancers start performing. You better get your order in before the show. Yes you eat with your hands and it’ll get messy but it’s all part of the experience — and definitely worth it for the bastilla(a pastry made here with minced chicken that accompanies the 5 course meal). It’s so good I’ve ordered the bastilla a la carte for take out.

The food was amazing. The only thing I didn’t like was the sitting area. If I was young and super elastic, then sitting on the floor would have been a great idea, but my husband and I ended the day with sore backs!

Pretty cool place to go for a bday. The food is pretty good but not worth the price. You have to pay for the experience, which is pretty neat. I’d recommend it… but only go once

First visit after returning from Morocco. Happy to say that Marrakesh’s pastilla is just as authentic(although it’s chicken not pigeon). Their entrees, especially the chicken ones, are a little too sweet for my palette(too much honey for me). The lentil soup and the lamb were delectable though. Plus the Bedouin tent like ambience and the belly dancing(only on weekends) add to the overall experience. P. S. They serve *a lot* of food. Go with a a full appetite.

I’ve been coming to this wonderful restaurant for 20 years. Every time is perfect. Each course is very different and tasty. So filling, come hungry. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun date night. Pros: food, price, atmosphere, service Cons: floor cushions are to low to sit comfortably. Tips: don’t wear a dress as you might be sitting on a low cushion.

I don’t get it! If I could give ZERO stars I would. First the place is dirty. The floors are dirty the tables are dirty. The bathrooms are dirty. I brought 12 people with me and wanted to apologize to all of them. It was by far the worst food I have ever had. We ate the«feast». It was a lot of food but none of it was good. Over cooked. Over boiled. Over sauced. The drinks«lemonade» where nothing but syrup. Too sweet to drink. The service was mediocre at best, 1 of our guests got rammed by a server with a serving tray and another had hot tea splashed on her. The seating we had for 12 was not sufficient and they were unwilling to help us figure it out. a disappointment to say the least. I would never return and you shouldn’t go!
