Dr. Terry performed PRK(a variation of LASIK) on my eyes just under five years ago. I am very happy with both my treatment and results. In talking to different doctors, I felt most comfortable with Dr. Terry’s approach and his genuine concern for me as a patient. He recommended PRK over LASIK for me because my cornea would fully heal afterwards and I would achieve the same improvements in my vision, though over a slightly longer time period(a couple weeks versus hours). With LASIK, your cornea is compromised because of the flap that is cut. At my wedding reception, I poked my eye with my sunglasses, which was rather sobering, and I covered my eye for the next day because it hurt so bad. I am fairly confident that if I’d had LASIK instead of PRK, I would have been headed to an eye surgeon to repair the flap on my cornea instead of dancing at the reception.
