Got seated fast, put in a order and had to wait 45 min for the waiter to tell us they didn’t start making our food yet. Didn’t check up on us at all to see how we were doing, don’t think I’ll be coming back here for a while Waste of time… And I’m still hungry

This place is a bummer. Everything is either deep fried, filled/covered with krab salad, or swimming in «spicy mayo.» It’s the perfect place for people who say they«like sushi» but hate raw fish and everything that sushi is really about. It’s dirty — the wasabi and ginger are often contaminated, and you can see into the kitchen which always looks like a mess. The service is just bizarre — whenever I’ve gone they have either been ridiculously inattentive and absent minded, or(seemingly when the owner is there) way overly attentive and bothering you every two minutes to the point where it distracts you from enjoying your meal, which given the quality of the food might be a good thing. It’s very inexpensive and close to my house so I really wanted to like it, but sometimes you truly get what you pay for, and after giving this place a few tries I’m afraid I won’t be going back.

Rice tasted great. Fish tasted amazing. Wasabi and ginger ready self serve at the table. Conveyor belt awesomeness, but they take special requests. Most Plates range from $ 1-$ 2. Fresh tasting water. Pleasant service. Nice bathroom. I will be coming back. I wish they had a menu for special orders to give me a better idea of what I could be missing. But it is my fault for not asking. I was too busy stuffing my cheeks.

I took my young daughter here because I thought she Luke enjoy watching the sushi go by on the conveyor belt … And she did! The downside is that the sushi was not good. It looked very not fresh. I was afraid to eat any sushi with fish in it because I thought I might get sick from old fish.

Went to Sushi Land around 8pm and the conveyor belt was practically empty. Granted you can order what you want if it isn’t on the belt, but part of the fun is picking what you want off the belt. We asked a waitress about the lack of food and she said they stop making stuff for the bet 7:30.Food was good, price is great, will have to try again earlier in the day.

This is the best conveyor belt sushi you will find in or near Portland in my opinion. The rice actually tastes good, which may be something that is often overlooked but it is vital for good sushi. The quality is consistent, and the price means you can go as often as you would like. Yay for cheap sushi! Our favorites are Tamago nigiri Veggie roll Sweet potato roll Salmon nigiri Spicy tuna roll Oshinko roll

Another Sushi Train — I spent $ 15 and am stuffed beyond belief! It’s not very clean, and for Sushi unless you are looking for a dive that’s not a great sign! I would say it’s about average for the Lloyd district, but it’s quick Sushi and it’s a lot louder then I would have thought too; maybe it has to do with all the HS aged kids!!! Anyway, like I said average; don’t think I will be back. Sorry…

This is a place I visit often due to its convenience and location. They’re sushi is always good and cheap. But most of the time as of the last year or two, when me and my family visit, the employees seem like they don’t want to be there. Especially the Sushi chefs. If you have a choice and feel like conveyer belt sushi, Go to Sushi Hana. It’s about the same price and alot fresher fish, happier employees and cleaner restaurants.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First we waited 10 min to be sat and the restaurant was nearly empty and the waitress was in the kitchen talking to the cooks. When we did get sat the waitress didn’t bring us water for another 10 – 15 min and shortly after seating us grabbed her own sushi plate to snack on and didn’t let anyone know we were sat down. So after the belt of sushi closed down we placed an order in with a different waiter and he just decided to not let the chefs know so we waited 20 min before we decided to leave because we never received our food. Waste of time and money.

This place has great sushi! The conveyor makes it so easy to get started right away. The calamari is awesome. Salmon from the copper River is to die for. Please be careful if you have to sit and wait for a seat! The window ledge, behind the bench seat, is mid back and sticks out about a half inch and if not careful, will hit you with a very sharp pain when you lean back! A severe design flaw that should be corrected.

I’ve been coming here since 2007 and the quality has definitely declined over the years. What used to taste unique and fresh, now taste like any other average sushi restaurant in Portland. Maybe it’s because there are more sushi spots compared to 8 years ago, but I use to come in and have to wait at least an hour during dinner hours to be seated, now I was seated fairly quick. I would get my usual plates of house rolls and raw salmon, but the salmon just doesn’t quite taste the same anymore and I did notice a difference. The only reason I come here is because of the price and selection. The baked mussel, house roll, calamari, udon, and hand rolls are some of the best around and definitely a must when visiting here. But other than these selections, that you have to order and that will not be on the belt, Sushiland has become average. What I noticed with all Sushilands is that all the sushi chefs don’t seem happy or enthusiastic at all. They seem to be working, just to be working. There is not much acknowledgement or customer service unless you are the one to speak to them. I ordered a Calamari and waited over 15 minutes. Finally the sushi chef comes out with at least 8 plates, passing out ALL the calamari to customers as he walks inside the carousel, besides me. I ordered the calamari and no one in the restaurant would have gotten it if it wasn’t for my order. I didn’t want to wait another 15 so I asked for my check and left disappointed. I believe there needs to be better communication between the waiters/waitresses and the chef because they never appear to be attentive and most of the time, don’t appear to be listening very accurately. In all, this location is an okay spot to grab quick and cheap sushi. Selection us good but don’t expect much quality service or a great dinning experience. Sushi quality is also good but with all the other Japanese/Sushi restaurants in Portland, I would pay a bit more for a better experience. I would not be recommending this place or visiting anytime soon.

Super fast, reasonably priced sushi. If you order something from the chefs behind the bar, it’s custom made and lightning fast. The only way to eat sushi for less than $ 20!

I’m skeptical when it comes to sushi on a conveyor belt. I have an idea of what would pass by but I’m not always certain. When I dined here, I appreciated the staff asking if there was something in particular I liked. I mainly requested what I wanted instead of choosing it from the carousel. I’ve definitely enjoyed other sushi places for the visual presentation and quality, however, the sushi was decent… I stuck to simple nigiri(yellow tail, salmon, unagi, and seared salmon)… and the price was extremely reasonable.

Okay– come on sushi land!!! You have constant business. People wait for 30 minutes just to be seated. Why? Oh why??? Is it so filthy, smelly, and gross? You have the money to fix up this location, clean it, and make the experience of any customer pleasant. How do you pass inspection?

This is a franchise so what can I say. They have pretty good sushi at a very reasonable price. As a hint come early or else they will start running out of things. Love coming here. Especially the belt sushi bar. At least you won’t over order. Very friendly staff. You can order off the menu and it comes pretty quick.

My husband was craving sushi while on our vacation in Portland, so we decided to stop here since we couldn’t find any all-you-can-eat places in the area. Marinepolis is a carousel-style sushi bar, where you can pick a variety of different rolls and they all come on different colored plates. Each plate is a different dollar value, starting at $ 1 and going all the way up to $ 5. We picked a selection of different rolls(mostly the $ 2 ones) and ate til we got our fill. The best part? The price: $ 25! I recommend this place if you’re looking for a large quantity but not necessarily want a lot of quality. The sushi was delicious and fresh, but it certainly wasn’t gourmet.

This was my first experience at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant so I was excited to be here. Upon entrance, there is a slight long wait time because seats are extremely limited and turnover is about 30−60mins because you’re waiting for the rolls to rotate on the belt. But once we were seated, we hung out and grabbed whatever we wanted to eat. There wasn’t too much selection on the belt unless you specifically ordered something. But getting the attention of the wait staff and the sushi makers was a difficult task and a bit awkward because you had to stop the sushi makers while they’re making the rolls. The rolls were ok, nothing too spectacular. At a place like this, you are paying for the experience. The work stations were really messy and you were able to see the workers work on suspect surfaces. Being in service industry, myself, made the entire experience of watching them work a bit unsettling. Service was almost non-existent. Because the sushi makers were busy in the center and the waiters only appeared when they first seat you and when you’re ready to settle your bill. And we waited probably 10 minutes to pay because there wasn’t anyone at the cashier station. We could have walked out and no one would have noticed but we’re good citizens haha

We haven’t been here in over six months so my fiancée and I decided to come here for lunch after doing some shopping. The workers were friendly and greeted us right away. It was somewhat busy so we had to put our names down and wait to be seated. This is one of the sushi places with a conveyor belt where the dishes spin around in a circle and you pick what you want to eat. It didn’t take too long for us to get seated. I will say that the fish here did not taste very fresh. Some of the rolls were also not that fresh tasting. The workers who were making the food were not that great. We asked for fried calamari and had to ask for it twice. The first sushi chef/cook forgot that we had ordered it. Overall I would pick another spot for sushi, the service and quality of food here is mediocre to poor. The prices were pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for with Sushi, I probably will not be coming back.

This place is in the middle of a downward slide. Cuts of fish, quality of fish, selection, cleanliness, and customer service has been poor the last few times here. Lately what has struck me is that people sitting at the sushi bar will be left waiting for anything decent on the belt or to have an order filled while they rush to fill to go orders as fast as possible. Doesn’t make any sense, business/$ or customer service-wise. I hope they turn it around.

Staff was friendly and attentive, and quick to get refills or take additional orders. Sushi was fresh and quickly refilled and yummy. Would pig out here again.
