Great service, friendly staff, awesome pinball, it’s a good time. Christopher was great, made sure we were taken care of, our whole party time

It is unbelievable how rude and nasty are some of the bartenders. Paul and Angela are the best bartenders in town but I just can’t go there anymore after some of the experience I’ve had with the others. Super bowl Sunday last year was the absolute worst. There were only about 17 customers that day so it’s not like it was slammed. It was the blonde woman bartending that day. I had to ask 3 times before she deigned to bring me a beer, rolling her eyes at me each time I asked. Then she literally SNATCHED the credit card out of my hand. Next I ordered a burger with fries and she didn’t bring me ketchup. I asked for it 3 times. I’m not kidding. I actually went up to the bar, waited patiently for her to stop flirting with other customers even though I was the only one in line, THREETIMES. Still no ketchup. So I went to the window to the kitchen and I politely asked the cook for ketchup and his reply was«I can’t FUCKING hear you dude!» and he turned around and definitely did not give me ketchup. When I went to settle up, I left a 25 cent tip which was certainly more than was deserved. The bartender starts shouting at my friend, thinking that he had left the scanty tip«Who the fuck gave me a 25 cent tip? Did you fucking do this? What kind of shit is this?» Paul and Angela, I love you guys and miss going to the Lutz when you’re there but we just can’t deal with that shit anymore. That’s why Leah and I(Michael Simpson) haven’t been back since. Leah has horror stories about her and another bartender as well and I’ve heard the same from other friends who also won’t ever go back to the Lutz.

Everytime I go in, it seems like a laid back bar. A place to watch the game, mingle and have a few beers. Although there isn’t really a wine selection. I would have given a 5 star rating if there was better wine.

Lutz Tavern is one of, if not the oldest bars in Woodstock and it hasn’t seemed to change in years. Good prices, great happy hour, strong drinks, friendly bartenders that remember your name, and great food. What more could you ask for? I come here at least 3 times a week and the service is always consistent. If you’re a smoker the back patio is big enough that you can usually find a seat even on a busy night. My one complaint is that there’s only one pool table and there’s usually a line of people waiting to play. Another pool table would be awesome, but it’s forgivable since there’s really no space for it. Very retro and dark décor & I hope it never changes. Overall Lutz is a fantastic neighborhood dive that’ll bring you back in time. If you’re in the area check it out. It might just become your new favorite bar. Cheers!

Hipster bar but use to be much more. The corn dog is awesome and happy hour menu is too. But there two sets of happy hour menu and I suggest the late night version. Fried pork sandwich for the win!

Except for smokers outside and in the back patio, which forces nonsmokers to stay inside, rest is great. Ordered a burger and fries and I was somewhat shocked how good it was. Apparently one cook is really good but doesn’t work there all the time. Beer selection is great, too.

All the food is delicious, the drinks are pretty reasonably priced(especially during happy hour!) And the bar tenders and friendly and attentive. Add in patio space, 5 different pinball tables, and a pool table, and this is one of my favorite dives!

They are not skimpy with their pours at all. Happy hour is killer, and the food is tasty as well.

The Lutz , The food, burgers, is really good. The music can be too loud for enjoyable conversation. The staff is very friendly and courteous, but overworked on busy Fri Sat. I always have to stand and wait in line for drinks… not sure why the owner wont add more staff. The mens room is dirty, smelly and a little shabby.

I love coming here, I can disappear for months on end and the bartenders remember me. Food is alright but the drinks are stiff how I like them.

Oh Lutz. There is much potential for you to be better but overall, and over the past 3 years I’ve been a customer, the bottom line is that you remain apathetic and surly and not a place I’d recommend or want to spend my money on. — the servers are focused but not at all friendly… they seem bothered by working in general or perhaps the awkward and annoying service system they’ve created — yet somehow they make you feel like you are at fault; — the place is dirty. one time my friend and I could barely finish our drinks because it reeked of urine(was there a leak? an accident?). we were seated near the front entrance and it was just awful. — the music randomly gets turned-up so fucking loud that you cannot have a conversation with someone sitting next to you without yelling and even if you power through it, the whole time you are thinking, «why the hell is the music up so damn loud!». — yes, lots of smoking in the front entrance and out back in the courtyard. i don’t smoke and so stay away from those areas but it seems like a younger version of the equally bad«Putters» dive bar that moved many blocks east on Woodstock. bleh. This makes me sad as a neighborhood resident who would like to support my local businesses. The reason Lutz keeps chugging along its own train-wreck is that most of the patrons seem equally oblivious as the folks behind Lutz to know good customer service, and want a clean, somewhat conversational establishment. As a dive bar, you don’t have to be so apathetic. someone please just open a competitive bar on the street. it wouldn’t take much to blow them outta’ the water(or Delta Café for that matter).

Fun neighborhood hipster dive. Despite the look, the food was very good — great fries and good burgers. My friend is in love with the A-1 burger. They make the best buffalo wings I’ve ever had. I usually don’t like buffalo wings because I hate Tabasco but these were smoky and rounded out the vinegar. There’s one large booth that seats about 6 – 8 people and smaller booths for 4 – 5. Plenty of bar seats and smaller 2 – 4 high table/chairs in the middle. The 6 of us comfortably crammed ourselves into one of the smaller booths with a chair at the end of the table. The service is friendly and prompt. You order everything at the bar and they will bring it out and serve you. The bartender was friendly and despite us being there on a new years eve, she quickly noticed us and took our order. I can’t much about the cocktails since I ordered what I think is appropriate for a dive bar: whiskey diet. The prices are within dive bar ranges. Fun times and the bar is located near other restaurants and shops. — Not that you’d need to go anywhere else for food!

I am absolutely in love with this place! It’s got cheap $ 1.50 tallboys during happy hour(4 – 7), and the food is superb. I no longer live in Portland, but visit almost every time I am in town. Its a chill, hippie-hipster hang out, and their house made veggie Pattie is one of the best I’ve ever had. Also, the shoe string fries are a must have. Don’t miss out in this subtle, yet awesome Portland experience.

Dive bar! Good drinks and cheap! Wish the patio didn’t close at 11:00p.m. but meehh(there is the front with benches). Played pinball for the first time there and am addicted. The one in the middle to the left of the kitchen! The bartender with the black glasses and pony tail is a doll face! the blond bartender is a sweetie as well once she warms up to you what a sweetie! Close to home is even a more of a bonus

Excellent dive that I can walk to, and stumble from; only six blocks away. Someone mentioned that the Lutz has the same layout as Moe’s Tavern on the Simpson’s, even better. Their smoking back-porch is excellent as well, with plenty of seats usually. With having owned my home nearby for 12 years, I never went here until they became a real bar, and not just a tavern. The service is always friendly, as I am, and I’ve had a few nice conversations with strangers here. Nothing fancy, except their lovely bartender Angela, and their shoestring fries; yummy. Expect little, and be quite surprised.

Great neighborhood dive bar. I love meeting friends here and watching the eclectic crowd that comes in. No matter how busy they get, the bartenders don’t seem to sweat it and take great care of each individual customer. My bartender got my drink and food order just right and everything was timely, delicious and a reasonable price. I’m not able to get out much anymore, but am sure to pop in here when I get the chance.

Super dive bar. Easily overlooked! But it’s everything you’d want from a dive. Cheap drinks, bar food, loud people yelling and sports blasting in the back. One time I had their hand dipped corn dog. It was delicious. This place is great if that’s your scene. It’s not like a place you walk in and the only people there are ancient alcoholics.

First off, I have to point out how this place has the same layout as Moe’s Tavern on the Simpson’s and is rumored to be the inspiration for that cartoon bas, because that’s just awesome. Lutz is a kind of classy dive bar. It’s hard to pin down exactly the atmosphere of the place, but that doesn’t really matter, because the staff is great, the food is good, and the drinks are refreshing.
