I visit sometimes for their delicious smoothies. The food is good and fresh but the portions are small and some of their culinary concepts are questionable but you have to get creative sometimes. They have regular and vegetarian options, so everyone can eat there. They mostly have a mexican-​style menu but sometimes they throw-​in a wild card like bimbimbap. They have daily specials and the customer service is always great.

I had the pleasure of visiting this amazing restaurant twice while in Oregon. Once at the Portland location and the second time at there Eugene location all in one week. Both locations have amazing food and service. I could eat there everyday and be happy. The menu is great for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Honestly no complaints.
The dinosaurs on the tables are pretty cool to!

Food is fine. Music is absolutely terrible. It was bad enough that I decided to take the food to go since there were crying and screaming kids. Not anyone’s fault — it just doesn’t make me want to dine in when the music makes me want to run out of there. I’ll call in my food next time

One star for edibility. Another star for them not complaining and fixing the order they messed up. I have no idea why people like this place so much. The service was slow and the food is so overwhelmingly bland. There was no flavor. The food does a disservice to the cultures from which the various foods come from. Also, the kimchi was too sweet. I won’t be returning.

Had a really tasty lunch here consisting of the burrito special and the seasonal special, plus a quesadilla. Everything was very good, especially the burrito. I rarely think to come here since it’s in a rather random location, but hopefully I will remember in the future as I would definitely return again.

I visit this location pretty regularly due to the fact that it’s pretty close to my work. And the customer service is always on point and friendly. Recently I called in my order and they said that it was going to take take about 35 to 40 minutes to get my order done, which is fine I can always keep working until I need to leave to go get my food. And I went to pick it up and they had my order all ready to go. They seemed a bit under staffed which may have been the reason why it was going to take a while. I think they need more cooks in the kitchen. But I will continue to visit again and again because the sw green Chile burrito is bomb-​diggity!

Excellent food, great smoothies, really friendly staff, pretty reasonable prices.
High recommend the PB&J smoothie. It’s peanut butter, strawberries, and apple juice. It’s amazing!

Staff is very friendly here and work really well with allergies! They have a binder with ingredients to reference on foods for you too.
SENSORY: Smell, temperature and lighting were great. They have big windows, letting in a lot of natural light. The sound can be loud. They have toy dinosaurs for kids to play with and while we were there some kids were slamming them into the railing making a lot of noise.
PARKING: Free accessible parking in a private lot. Bike friendly.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Near bus line and close to Capitol Highway.
ACCESSIBILITY: There is a curb ramp, accessible changing rooms, and both narrow and wide hallways. The seating around the outside is easily accessible, but the chairs in the middle of the room are a tighter squeeze.
DIETARY OPTIONS: Gluten free, Dairy free, Vegetarian, and Vegan options are all available here.
VISUAL: There is no visual menu.
FEES: $-$$. Accepts credit cards. No reduced or free rates for staff accompanying someone with a disability.

Time for another update.
Something good has been going on at this location recently. The staff has been super friendly and attentive, and much more organized.
I’ve also figured out that calling in for takeout, just doesn’t work at this location during busy times. So I call in a head of time, let’s say 4 o’clock, and and request a specific pick up time, I.e. 6 o’clock.
The food is still great, with local, and fresh ingredients, so it’s become a regular stop again.
Kudos Laughing Planet Gabriel Park on all of the recent staff, and restaurant improvements.

Delicious, mostly healthy food and plentiful vegetarian options. Always very impressed by the friendly staff! This has become one our local go-​to spots since moving to PDX. The burritos are our faves (Bubba and Holy Mole), and the seasonal specials are also reliable winners. Appreciate the thoughtful food sourcing as well — better than most. It can be very busy and the service very slow (lots of families with kids), so call ahead if you want a quicker bite. Oh yes… And the dinosaur toys are a nice touch!

Great food, kid friendly but service can be slow especially on busy weekend lunches. The food is worth it though. The vegan Thai Royale burrito is ah-​mazing. Their holiday special bowl is everything good about Thanksgiving in one plate: mashed potatoes, squash, cranberries and gravy plus tempeh and/​or turkey.

Laughing Planet’s portions have become laughably small for as much as they charge. (See pics I posted of my ‘sides,’ which equaled about 1 ½ tbl of mashed potatoes and 2 tbl of green beans. Boo! :(

Seasonal bento bowl with pickled beets, squash, kale, jasmine rice, tofu, and ginger sesame dressing was great. And so was the peach berry smoothie. Quick service and good atmosphere, perfect for a quick bite!

I want to love Laughing Planet.
The service was great, but we went in pretty late, so it wasn’t packed.
The food is healthy and fresh, but it seemed bland to me, under seasoned maybe. I had the green chile burrito with chicken and I even dumped a bunch of salsa on it, but it didn’t help. My teenage daughter said her chicken burrito ‘didn’t taste like anything’. I’m Latina and probably biased… I expect a burrito to have more spice and flavor than the one I ate.
I’m sure I will go back and continue to try and force this relationship to work as it’s a convenient and healthy option.
Maybe I haven’t ordered the right thing yet?

Love the food and the beer selection. Really, they know what they are doing with the healthy, unique, and creative menu. If you go out to eat to be waited on and have interaction with the people who serve your food, then that part isn’t what they do at Laughing Planet. I give the food 5 stars.
