This place knows how to cook a great burger! They griddle the beef and it had a wonderful crust. The beef was hand formed and juicy and well seasoned from the pieces I ate that weren’t covered in condiments. The staff was quick with the food and helpful with the menu as it was my first visit. And even though it is self service the friendly counter guy came out and checked on us when the line died down. Being a cheeseburger purist(cheese, LTOP) but not being particularly refined(I love fast food burger), I like to go basic especially on my first visit but when ordering the counter guy mentioned that the«Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon» burger was their best seller. In a momentary lapse of reason I ordered it. It came adorned with their Housemade peanut butter, mayo, wonderfully cooked bacon, grilled onion, pickle and cheddar. The peanut butter was delicious and mixed with bacon made a wonderfully sweet and savory bite and the pickle gave a interesting vinegary note that I dug. The mayo was not needed and interfered. I have talked a lot about the condiments because they overpowered the beef. It was a fun burger to try and next time I am in i can’t wait to try the basic burger and really appreciate their burger cooking capabilities. In the meantime I might just start making peanut butter, bacon and pickle sandwiches minus the beef at home.

The local burger joint Killer Burger is a tad few adjustments from basking in complete glory. It is Portland’s most pronounced mark on the burger. Their happy hour provides monetary decency in this cruel world. Music of refined tastes such as around when the Vietnam War was waged plays over the speakers. It can get crowded, and take customers awhile to get their food over the height of the lunch hour. I avoided the miserable fate of that crowd diluting my experience just yesterday. I ordered the epic burger and it was great. There was bacon, pulled pork, barbecue sauce and cheese, along with fries and a fountain drink, all for $ 12.65. The meat was tender and the ingredients bode well. This was not the precise best burger I’ve ever had, but it was noticeable as far as my grasp of the burger that I had in the experience. It would be wonderful if I shall dine here again. Their variety of toppings ought to at the very least intrigue.

One word! Peanut Butter pickle bacon burger! Seriously a great burger, the sour the salty the creaminess! Such a great balance of flavor and texture. Just an awesome burger, great fries, and the service was on point. This place deserves to be doing well. In my view it is because they care about doing it right. Fantastic!

The Teemah burger was KILLER! It was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Price was great, the only down side is the music was a touch loud. I would go back anytime.

I seriously don’t know what the big deal with this place is… I had a Fun Guy«swiss, sauteed mushrooms, bacon(of course), pickles and sauce» sounds safe, right? wrong. The«swiss» was not real cheese, there was a weird flavor on something and the cost was excessive. All in all, not awesome. Burgerville is better, and Little Big Burger is WAY better… and both are cheaper.

We went to check out Killer Burger and we’re not disappointed! My friend had the PBBP and loved it and I had the classic. It was great. Tremendous fries but so generous, I tapped out without seconds. Can’t wait to bring the Hubs as he is a burger lover. Want to try the Contract Killer IPA next time.

Sort of don’t want to give a bad review but… maybe they call it Killer Burger because the burger KiLLs the bun. To me the bun is a big part of the burger. I’ve been here twice and both times this fatty decadent burger is turned into a sloppy wet dough mess. This last time was especially bad because I ordered the barnyard burger, which looks great on paper, but it is not thought out well. The bun was pressed paper thin and soaking wet only two bites in. The ham was undercooked and probably only one grade above spam. There was just too much on it for the bun to handle. I had the same problem of the bun turning to shit with just a regular cheese burger. I didn’t give it one star because the ideas are good and I like everything but the bun… but the bun man, the bun! What’s a burger with a bad bun?

My wife and I were up in Portland and looking for a place to eat when we found Killer Burgers. We had a peanut butter-pickle-bacon burger & a Fun guy burger. Pros: thin buns. When you bite in, it’s all the goodness you want. The peanut butter was a great addition My wife liked everything about her Fun guy(the burger too) ;) Bottomless fries — you got appetite, they have a solution. Cons: pickles were more sour than I like & burger a bit more charred than necessary — but really, I’m a picky eater; ask my wife. She liked the pickles and the char! :-) I’d order again, and I would have bought the t-shirt if they weren’t out! :’(

This place was pretty great! We got here just before the afternoon rush. The have bottomless fries. I had the Bender because I wanted a lil kick to my burger and it has Jalapeños and Siracha! Hubs had the classic… cuz he is boring and not a foodie like me. Princess Mini-Me had the kids burger. Our Realtor had the Peanut Butter Burger which sounds gross but really just has Peanut Sauce with it. HmmmmmmI live Peanut sauce. Next time I’m getting this one. Burgers were juicy, substantial and killer is the perfect adjective for them! I think the Bender was a lil too much for me. In the sense that it was a lil too much grease/fat. Still incredibly tasty but I really paid for it afterwards. No wonder it’s called the Bender! I felt like I had been on one after. I wish I woulda tried their cole slaw cuz it sounded fantastic. Free refills on fries and drinks! The music was rockin and overall I will be back to try out other items when I’m back in town.

Was in Portland last Tuesday for a meeting and our group met within walking distance. This place was highly recommended by my colleagues who are Portland locals, so this was our lunch choice. I am usually a pescatarian by choice for nutrition reasons so stay with fish only for meal choices, but about once a year I wander over to the dark side for beef. This was my 2016 excursion. It was worth the trip. I ordered the Classic Burger, which might sound boring, but all Killerburgers come with smoky bacon which is just yummy. This big and thick baby was one of the juiciest and tasty burgers that I have ever had. Made me almost want to switch back to a daily burger ration again, if only I could find Killerburgers in LA. Service is friendly and the place had the typical Portland edgy Kurt Cobain vibe going with matching music. Loved it! I would have given 5 of 5 stars, but the burger(mostly the bacon) was extremely salty so not the most gourmet experience. All Killerburgers come with bacon. Next trip I will order the same burger and order it with half ration of bacon or remove about half of it before eating. Also, the fries are average quality, nothing special, although you do get unlimited fries with the burgers, but the potatoes are cut with skins left on and those who read my reviews know that is not acceptable for me. It DOES affect the taste in a negative way, at least to those of us with discerning taste. Peel the damned potatoes!

OH… MAH…GAWD…Seriously people, the best burger I’ve had in Portland! I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time as a good friend of mine raves about it. However, we tried to go once on President’s Day and once on a weekend night, but it was just too darned crowded. So we decided to go this week with my friend who loves the place. It was a lovely, sunny evening, great enough for PDX, and Killer Burger had tables available! Woot! The guy taking orders was friendly and funny, bonus points! No PDX snobbery here. My beer was cold and in a pint glass, we were off to a great start! Then, even better, the people sitting outside vacated their table, it was ours! But nothing could prepare me for the burger. I had the Epic Burger, which has pulled bbq pork and coleslaw on it. Oh, I can see you wrinkling your brow! Well, all I have to say is, the challenge has been issued, try it! It was heavenly, full of sauce-y, pork-y, burger-y goodness! It was moist and juicy and decadent and overflowingly flavorful! I was blown away… My friend got the one with peanut butter, bacon and pickles. My partner had one with green chilis, they both said their burgers were terrific. The fries are outstanding too. They are soft, pillow-y, slightly crispy morsels of all that is good in the world. They’re also bottomless, but I guarantee you will be too full to order more. If you aren’t, it might be time for a Jenny Craig intervention. Love this place, I will be going again… and again…

Omg — Yum. That’s what I’m starting with for this one. I was waiting all day for this place since it was my «cheat meal» for the week and I was craving a really great burger. I ordered the Killer Burger, fatty style, and it was absolutely delicious. It was also humongous; so humongous that I tasked my boyfriend with eating half of it, along with his own burger(He had the peanut butter burger, btw, and that was tasty as well!). I probably wouldn’t order anything fatty-style again, because it’s SOMUCH food. The ingredients tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly. The fries had great crisp without being well-done. Everything food-wise was great; I’m really impressed. It’s worth mentioning that the place is really small and seating is limited. We arrived just before a small rush and many people were left waiting for tables to open up, but nobody seemed to wait too long. The music is played loud and the kitchen staff kind of yells along, so if you’re looking for someplace quiet, you probably won’t like that aspect much. The staff is friendly, attentive and welcoming. The gentleman taking our order also made sure we had a table cleaned off and brought everything to set it up so we didn’t have to wait. He also checked in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. It seems simple, but it’s a box often left unchecked by other people and businesses. These folks pay special attention to it. If you haven’t been here, you should go. I can’t wait for our next visit!

I’ve been on a burger kick lately and thought that I would try Killer Burger, because duh! what a great name for a burger joint! Anyways, popped in during their happy hour and got the Killer burger without a bun for 6.95(i believe, I know it was six dollars and some change) and a soda. All burgers come with big fat cut fries and bacon! I know some people feel like bacon is over hyped, but those people are American! Bacon is the meat candy of the gods! Anyways, decent burger, fries were a tad salty, but that’s ok, I kind of enjoyed that.

I don’t care what anyone says, Killer Burger makes the best burger in Portland and in the case of one burger, the best burger in the WORLD! Yes… I just went there… and until you’ve had this burger EXACTLY the way I prescribe it, then you haven’t given this place a chance. They make some 10 or so burgers… every burger comes with bacon… some gargantuan creations come with a third pound patty, bacon and even a Philly cheese steak or pulled pork portion thrown on for good measure… their burgers are ridiculous! In case you are still hungry, your burger comes with wonderful crispy, golden fries… that are BOTTOMLESS!!! But I digress, back to the best burger in the WORLD bit… go to the counter and say these words: I’ll have the Fun Guy, make it a Fatty! Note yes, you could get just the Fun Guy and have a great burger… but when you make it a Fatty, you get more sauce and more cheese also; thereby making it a messy, gloppy Best Burger in the WORLD… trust me folks, I have actually kept a list of my top burger experiences in this life… it means that much to me. #2 is at Vera’s Burger Shack in Vancouver, BC. #3 was at an unnamed street stall on the banks of the Mekong River, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam… there are others… but again, I digress. Even if this doesn’t make your top burger list, Killer Burger makes the best burger in Portland, consistently… and to me that is their greatest attribute… I’ve eaten at four locations all across this city at different times of the day and I have always been met with a great burger… and Every Time I get the FUNGUY made into a FATTY, it is the best burger I’ve ever eaten… EVERYTIME!

The music is really loud, but I like the selection of 90s grunge and rock with a power ballad now and then. And it was fun watching the kitchen staff perform their food prep ballet, tight in the small space but moving in unison, creating the magic. Yes, I said magic. I just had a basic burger, but it was anything but basic. Juicy, crispy, melty. The fries were perfect, medium cut and soft in the middle. And the stout I had was that final touch that takes a really good meal into the range of wonderful. Husband had the one with green chile and jack cheese — he started to say it didn’t have enough heat, but then he got a mouthful of chile and took that back. He had two beers, btw. I can’t eat here every night, but I’m super glad this is in my neighborhood. I can walk there, and I should because the caloric punch is probably profound. As a treat, as a reward, this burger is exactly perfect.

Probably my favorite burger ever. I always get the vegetarian version of their Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon burger(veggie patty no bacon), and it’s amazing! They always ask to make sure I’m okay with the onions being cooked in bacon fat, which I am, but I appreciate that they’re so considerate. I love their fries too. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to catch the aptly named Crazy Hour from 2 – 5 on weekdays — burgers+fries for just $ 6, or $ 7 for veg.(Update: it’s a buck more now) They’re really great about those who want to split a burger, putting the halves in separate baskets with a heaping of fries on each. It can take a while for orders to come out sometimes, but I don’t mind the wait for food this intensely delish.

Big, juicy burgers. Bottomless crispy fries. Bottomless soda drinks. Decent micros on tap. Good prices. Thick, crispy bacon on every burger… EVERY…burger! What’s not to love? OK maybe the bathroom, but that’s expected and part of the old Portland dive vibe this place always has given off. They aren’t catering to the effete trendies. They are blaring AC/DC and quiet riot while handing you a burger with every known farm animal on it, dripping with cheese and chilis to hold it together! in short one of my favorite burger places in the Portland metro, including west side. The only way they could make it better is if they cooked to order.

Just the middle of the pack for me. A great Burger to me consist of; *Great Local Grass Fed Beef *House made Mayo/Dressing *Bun and if it’s charred on the inside. I ordered the Killer Burger w/Bacon. As much as I can appreciate the portions or «bang for your buck» that is practiced here, It falls short for me on top burgers in Portland. I thought the Bacon was to salty whether it comes pre-salted or it is salted on the grill, it was way too salty, I had to pull the bacon out of the burger. It was a lot better after that. It was a juicy burger tho, and that’s a good thing. Freedom Fries are actually pretty damn good ! well seasoned, fresh cut and fried at the right temperature.(key) All and All. I live really close by and I would return but would not do the Bacon again.

Alter ego, guardian Angel was a blueberry pomegranate cider that was dangerously good! All pints $ 5 w/domestic cans ringing it at a mere $ 2.50. They’ve got like 5 taps which is nice. M-F from 2−5p they offer $ 3.50 drafts! A completely badass burger with bottomless fries for $ 8.95 is a good deal and you’ll agree after sinking your teeth into one. We split the Bender and it was absolutely amazing! Heads up, it comes with mustard even though it doesn’t say that on the menu. No biggie for myself b/c I enjoy mustard but my wife on the other hand, not the biggest fan so her opinion was a little different. The bacon was nice, thick country style and there was enough of it. I’m a bit of a French fry snob since there are so many styles and places in the world that offer them and I don’t see them all as equal, that’s for sure but these fries get two green thumbs up! They are just the right thickness. Some are pulpy with some crispyness while you also get others that are more on the crunchy side but not burned. They should really have some special«Killer» French fry sauce even if it’s just banana pepper or sriracha ketchup. The service was great. The workers were super friendly and welcoming. There is very limited seating inside(like 5 tables total) but they do offer outside seating in bother the front and side so I’m pretty sure they’re dog friendly which is always a plus on our list up there with having PBR on tap which I don’t think they had. All in all a great food adventure calling us back for round 2

Great food usually, but I’m a(to go) order guy for the family and the last three times IN A ROW I have called in my order they told me 20 minutes. Every time it has taken over 40 minutes! This is BS! If your busy tell me it’s gonna be an hour! Maybe I won’t come but at least I’ll know. Don’t make me come in expecting to be home in 5 min and make me wait and extra 20 min! I’ve got for kids and a wife expecting me. Right now I’m standing here waiting for my food which I was told would take 20 minutes. ITSBEENALMOSTANHOUR. This is unecceptable. Whenever my vegetarian wife goes out of town for a few days, I celebrate a holiday that I like to call Meat-A-Palooza. I satiate my carnivorous tendencies on a meat-centric bender that takes me to some of Portland’s finest restaurants. The most recent installment of Meat-a-Palooza was headlined by Killer Burger, and boy did they ever fit the bill. Not only is Killer Burger a killer burger joint, but they boast that every 1⁄3 pound burger includes bacon. A little extra meat on that meat sandwich? Why not. The standard Killer Burger features bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, a house sauce, grilled onion, and pickle and is an excellent straightforward burger. If you want to get more adventurous, the PBPB(Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon) is a classic… and yes, it really does have peanut butter, pickles, and bacon on it. If you’re not here because you’re a carnivore, you can«go metro,» which subs out the beef for a garden patty. Add a fried egg and you’ve got a pretty decent high-protein faux burger. Alternatively, you can«make it a fatty,» adding a second beef patty and double down on the meat bomb. Every burger comes with fries. Inexpensive local microbrews are available. Staff is friendly. There’s really not a bad word I can say about this experience. I don’t always have the opportunity to visit greasy burger joints, but when I do I’ll most certainly be back at Killer Burger.

This is one of the best burger joints, ever. The burgers are huge and delicious. We had the Killer Burger because it came with bacon. When I say«It came with bacon», I mean it comes with a ton of delicious, thick cut bacon. This is a small place limited seating inside and a few benches outside, so be ready if it’s crowded. The girl who took our order was super nice and it didn’t take too long to get our food. I can imagine, however, that you could wait a while during the lunch rush. They also play great music from the 70’s &80’s here. If you are a serious carnivore, you must come here.

I have only had a few burgers in my life that made me literally smile as I eat it. The burgers here at Killer Burger will do that to you. After a huge trip from Southern California to Portland, Oregon. I needed a burger that would impress. We looked up various top 10 lists & this place was in every single one. I ordered a double cheese burger & bacon. I wanted to keep it classic! The burger tasted so amazing, that once I finished, I wanted to have another. I knew that this might be the last time I eat here & despite being full, I wanted to order another Burger. I didn’t though, I’m not that fat lol. A total of 5 of us agreed that this burger joint produced the #1 burger! I stick to that still. This place will make burgers enthusiasts fall in love, and make a vegetarian rethink the non consumption of meat lol. Hope you enjoy my review! :)

Holy Moly. Killer Burger annihilates the senses. Sound — It’s loud. Real loud. Generally playing metal or hard rock. While this isn’t something that would bother me most times there is something about it being so loud mixed with the fact it’s generally packed and tiny that makes it a bit overwhelming. Sight — As previously noted, it’s little. The line cuts through the middle of the seating area often making it’s way to the back where people mill around either waiting for a table or to go food. Don’t let this detour your, they move through the line pretty quickly. There is no order to getting a table and there is no promise you will have one by the time your food gets done, although it works out okay most of the time. Once I was left standing for a hot second which was not awesome but I keep coming back so clearly this risk is worth it. Smell, Touch and most importantly Taste — These burgers are out of control! The reason I keep coming back despite having to watch over tables like parking spots during Christmas time at the mall, is that the burgers are fantastic. Each burger comes with bacon. BACON — The way God intended burgers to be served. Fries are bottomless, although even at my most hungry I have never been able to go back for seconds. I go with the«Girly Size» which is the smaller version of the burgers. For me it’s the perfect amount of burger to leave you full, but with some shreds of dignity. I’ve tried most of the burgers at this point all of which dazzle the tastebuds. A purist at heart I generally stick to the Killer Burger but get Cheddar instead of American. I will say that the EPIC comes with pulled pork on top that was amazing. Great seasoning and just melts in your mouth. Killer Burger is aptly named, just killin’ shit when it comes to making a solid burger. Just don’t expect a relaxing dining experience and you’re good to go.

It’s simple. You make a good burger and people will come. And wait for their food. This isn’t going to be a fast food experience. This is a meat coma inducing experience, and a great one at that. I hadn’t set food in a Killer Burger since before I moved here. I was at their downtown location and wrote a pretty good review for that one. This one is no different, except the place is a bit smaller. But same great food, same great hospitality, same great choices. Today’s selection was the Fun Guy. A burger with lots of mushrooms and an endless basket of fries. Does anyone ever get a second basket of fries??? I know I can’t or else you’d have to strap me onto my bicycle just so I could get back home. Anyway, it was a great hunk of meat and fungi that was all cooked perfect and felt good in my belly. Carnivores hear me roar or belch loudly in gratitude. I just wish there weren’t so many great burger joints in this town so I could keep coming back here with more frequency. Onto the next burger… Enjoy.

Rule #2: Double Tap. Killer Burger is a surefire way to murder your diet. Go ahead … pull the trigger … cause you and your diet are on a collision course. Only one of you is surviving this. I went Zombieland and double tapped. One visit. Two burgers. One survivor. * First Shot * Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Burger($ 8.45) This is Killer Burger’s famous PBPB Burger(4 stars) with Pickles, Peanut Butter, Bacon, Smokey House Sauce, Mayo, and Grilled Onions. My diet was mortally wounded, but the Peanut Butter and Bacon will make you not care. I personally think I’d like it more without the Pickle. All burgers at Killer Burgers come with a pile of Bottomless Fries to fill any gaps in hunger that remain. Don’t spend too much time on the fries. Oh, they’re tasty thick fried potato strips, but don’t forget to double tap. ** Kill Shot ** Epic Burger with Serrano Peppers($ 10.95) Since I couldn’t pick just one of the Killer Burgers, I fired a shotgun blast at my diet with an appropriately named Epic Burger(5 stars). All Killer Burgers have Bacon. The Epic Burger adds Pulled Smoke-Pork, BBQ Sauce, Texas Sweet Slaw, Monterey Jack Cheese, Grilled Onions, and House Sauce. Ya, it’s deadly. Literally. For even more impact, I added Serrano Peppers. It was a messy and explosive burger that left my diet unrecognizable. To dull my senses throughout the assassination was a draft pint of Fort George Beer. It gave me courage to not chicken out while waiting for a table to open up. Killer Burger is small, but the bacon burgers are monumental. So, find street parking, get in line, grab a brew, and remember rule #2: Double Tap.

The bar was set high, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. You really cant go wrong with a place that has BACON on almost every menu item. So, I would call myself a burger polygamist — and I’ve definitely found lots of establishments that have some of the best burgers that i’ve absolutely drooled and fallen in love over. HOWEVER, this place and their one burger the PBPB — could in fact make me a 1 burger man for life, just maybe… :P I was at first skeptic and was about to order the EPIC burger — but i’m glad I got the original PBPB. You really need to like Peanut Butter to enjoy this masterpiece — it has a nice smear of a savory, almost thai-like peanutty peanut butter. The bacon through the whole burger at each and every bite was crisp. The pickles added a nice texture, and tart balance to the peanut butter. Oh yeah — there was some kind of caramelized onion action that made me cross-eyed for a half second ‘cuz it was so good.
