Loooooove this frame shop! There is SO much care that goes into all of the work done here. I would highly recommend this business to anyone. The prices are reasonable too.
I’ve had 3 artwork pieces framed here and have been very happy with the work done! A+++ business!

Brought in a 24×36 inch metal print and Greg worked his magic once again. The canvas print I had him re-​stretch last year (manufacturer’s mistake, not Greg’s) is still tight and hangs straight. I look at all the art I have and it is 10 times better than buying jewelry. I send everyone I know to Greg for their custom framing needs.

I’m just so very grateful that I paid attention to the other reviews on Unilocal and came here. I had a beautiful calligraphed certificate that had to be framed and I was so worried that I might not be able to afford something appropriate. Greg had the perfect solution, combining a keen artistic sense, useful suggestions, and respect for my budget limitations — all in a remarkably short time of planning! I just picked up the completed work and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you, thank you, Greg, for creating a work of art that I will treasure always.

I went to Kb because the reviews were the best and I haven’t wanted to go anywhere else. Mainly because I don’t have to. Greg’s prices are super reasonable, the results are always top-​notch quality, and he’s always so nice and happy to work with you. If you live far away, make the trek. You’ll be happy you did.

When we moved to Portland recently, we knew we wanted to get some pieces framed for our new house. We took several things to Greg after reading about him on Unilocal.We were thrilled with his service, selection, and very fair prices. Usually any sort of framing results in serious sticker shock, but Greg is so reasonable, and you can tell that he’s just a really nice guy who wants people to be able to enjoy artwork in their homes without breaking the bank. Plus, he does a fantastic job! He helps with every aspect of the decision-​making process and he is both an artist and fine craftsman.
We ran across a long-​forgotten print when we moved, and it had some mildew on it from our improper storage. Greg doesn’t profess to be an art restorer, but he was still able to clean it up and the damage doesn’t even show. It looks perfect in our dining room and we enjoy it every single day.
We have already taken our second batch of prints and some vintage maps to Greg for more framing. He is helping make our new house a home and we are so happy with every aspect of his business. There’s really no reason to go anywhere else. It’s great to be able to have fun choosing new mats and frames instead of having to keep one hand on our wallets. Thanks, Greg!

I must say that Greg will be the only person I go to for my framing needs from here on out. I’m a local Portland artist and I was pleasantly surprised to find how involved and meticulous he was in helping me find the right colored mat and frame style combination for a drawing of mine that was to be featured at an art show the following week — and I was completely blown away by the finished result when I came to pick it up for the show. Not to mention, he is one of the nicest people in Portland.
The only reason I’ve tagged him with only 4 stars is because I hadn’t had any previous experience with a framing shop before KB; therefore, I have no true comparable except that it looks 110% better than my amateur attempts at framing my own art.
I made sure to do my research before I made a decision and KB’s glowing reviews regarding price and service were primary factors in my choice. First impressions are huge. Greg has definitely set the precedent by which I will gauge any framing service if by any shop other than KB.

I was just looking up the details on this shop because Greg had helped me before on a few different projects and I realized that I had never written a review for him.
Just like all the other reviews, I wish I had more money to throw his way because he does exceptional work at one of the best prices I have found. He did a project for me that most places wouldn’t touch and the ones that did quote me something, quoted about 4 times the amount with the caveat that they wouldn’t guarantee any results. Greg not only did the project for a great price, but knew that when he was done there would be no problems. The piece is over a few years old and looks just as good as the day I picked it up. I can’t say enough about the work and service he is providing.

The other day I found myself panicking because I had a art piece that needed to be framed for a show the next day. I assumed that there would be no way that I could have it professionally framed because of time and budget constraints. Because I live in the area I decided to stop in KB Custom Framing just to see if they had any pre-​made frames that would work in a pinch. I could see hours of struggling with making a mat in my future.
When I arrived Greg helped me look for a frame that might work. We found something but I thought that I would just ask how much it would cost for him to frame it for me. Not only was the price he quoted me astoundingly reasonable (I would have spent that much in wasted mat board alone) but he said that he could have it done by the next morning!
This all happened around 5:30 PM. At about 6:50 (ten minutes before they close) Greg called me and said my piece was ready! He thought I might want it a little earlier as I was driving it to Eugene in the morning and might want an earlier start. I rushed over there to pick it up and he had done a beautiful and professional job. It looked great!
I was so impressed that I came back the next morning with two more pieces for him to frame. He was in the middle of working with another customer (who needed a frame in an hour!) and said that he could have my pieces framed in the three days I needed them. Sure enough, he called the day before I needed them to say they were completed early.
I’m so impressed with Greg and his professionalism and customer service that he has won another loyal customer. A chain store could offer me framing at half price and I would still go to Greg. I also doubt I’ll be attempting to frame my own pieces again as I can not hope to replicate his professional framing jobs. Greg does such a great job and bends over backwards to please his customers. He deserves all of the business he can handle!

KB makes me want to do more framing, if only so I could support them more often. It’s places like KB that make you forget the few benefits of corporate monster stores, and make local shopping worth it.
I knew I’d be in good hands when the owner of a semi-​competing store sent me to see Greg at KB, but my experience was far beyond good. Greg, the owner, was genuinely kind, helpful, generous with his time and knowledge, and obviously passionate and skilled. He explained my options, patiently answered my questions, and gave me some great tips. My purchase was very small and yet he still suggested I bring in my art and matting so he could help with spacing and cutting out corners, and even offered to help with a project I had framed somewhere else!
There is a good selection of premade frames in different sizes and styles, and he has scrap pieces from old work for sale. The frames are handmade in store, and the pieces he has matted and displayed are gorgeous (he said he did the paintings too!).
It is (sadly) so rare to receive the kind of customer service that I did at KB; I normally only review restaraunts, but that experience was memorable enough to warrant a shout out!
P. S.the quality of the frames I bought-​like that they’re real wood, the corners match up, the connections aren’t loose, the brackets bend without breaking-​are so much better than the Michael’s crap i’d have gotten for two bucks less.

This little hole in the wall on Stark is easy to miss — just stop between Thatcher’s and The Academy and you’re there!
We had an old watercolor painting we wanted rematted and framed, and the owner spent easily 20 – 30 minutes trying out different options with us. The final result is absolutely stunning! We are thrilled.
He also custom-​cut glass for my husbands Macquarium project. What is a Macquarium, you ask?
For all of you Montavilla Marauders out there, support your local businesses! Make a day of it — grab a coffee at Bipartisan, drop your art off to be framed at KB, have a spa day at Sante (or Tub and Tan, if that’s your style…), lunch at the Country Cat, pick out toys for Fido at Salty’s, then grab a movie at the Academy. Holy crap, doesn’t that sound awesome?
