It’s a clean and comfortable environment. The stylists are polite and professional. The prices are more than fair because let’s face it… You get what you pay for! Lydia is my new stylist and I am VERY picky with my hair but she will be my stylist for as long as she is in the business! She talks to you like a best friend, she’s honest and takes pride in her work! Book with her and you won’t be disappointed! I could go on for ever about her and the salon … You must see for yourself. I am SO happy I found this place! For guys: the owner is Jason. While getting my hair done I saw about 3 men come in to see him and each of them left very satisfied, clean cut and handsome. :)

Ran in there today in the hopes that I could get a quick haircut during my lunch break without having an appointment. I was greeted by a friendly woman (forgive me for not remembering your name) who told me I most certainly could get this done. She proceeded to ask me exactly what I wanted to have done, gave me some helpful suggestions and proceeded to give me a wonderfully unexpected fabulous hairstyle in just under 45 minutes. What a treat this was.

I followed Lydia to this salon. Lydia is by far the best hair stylist I’ve ever had. She’s good in hair cutting and colors. I can’t trust anyone else with my bulky and coursy hair but her. She’s dedicated and funny.

I’ve been going to Jason for years to get my haircut and I never leave not loving it. He recommended Lydia to me to get my hair ombréd and colored. I had never colored my hair before and she was so kind and easy going! She colored, cut, and conditioned my hair plus gave me lessons on how to style it for $ 95. Everywhere else I have tried to book would be close to $ 200. My hair turned out better than I could have imagined and for a fraction of the cost! I could not recommend this place more and the people are just wonderful.

He may be a great barber, but Jason is also an amazing hair stylist for women. :) I have been his customer since 2006 and I have never once been disappointed.
He listens, works very carefully, and won’t put his own idea of what my hair should look like over mine. I will get my hair cut by Jason for the rest of my life… or his. :)

This place is great. I just went back to Jason after a brief hiatus and am glad I did. He does a consistently good job with cutting my hair and pays attention to the details. I never feel rushed and the quality of service exceeds any place I’ve been in downtown Portland for getting my hair cut. I would definitely recommend him to my friends. The location can be a bit hard to find at first, but it’s definitely worth it!

Great atmosphere, kind staff, easy to get in. I love this cozy little salon. Yvette has cut my hair three times now — she is quick, but meticulous, and consistent. This salon is truly a hidden gem.

Yvette Zaverucha is without question the very best hair stylist I have ever had. I first found her in 2002 and have followed her several times as she moved to and from different salons. I believe that if she moved to Alaska, I would go there to have my hair done. She is an artist, as Jason told a customer in a different review. I am sorry that person had an unpleasant experience, because I can assure anyone reading this that in the almost ten years I have been Yvette’s client I have never had anything but exceptional service. Yvette always makes me feel beautiful when I walk out the salon — and almost without exception, people stop me and compliment my hair cut and color — which speaks volumes about her skills since I am an overweight 60 year old woman. I am a very loyal client once I find a stylist I know I can trust. When I first came to Yvette, it was about a year after moving to Portland. Soon after arriving in Oregon, I had my hair cut by someone recommended to me, and the result was so horrific that it took me that full year to grow it out to where something could actually be done with it. Yvette performed miracles and won my trust forever. I think she is absolutely the best.

I’ve been going to Jason off-​and-​on for years now, and have never had a bad cut or experience. He is very professional, doesn’t rush things, and charges a very reasonable price for his expertise. He has a great line of custom in-​house products that are a great value and extremely effective.

After years of heading to the cheapest local barbershop or supercuts, I finally decided it was time for a real barber. I am a member of the gym where Jason has his salon, and got to know him as a friend before he was my barber. He takes his time and really gets to know you and your hair. He also has a bunch of good products that he sells locally (both in his shop and at some others). For the price, and the company, this salon can’t be beat. I am very pleased.
