The food and coffee is high quality which distinguishes it from most coffee houses. And to boot, the prices are good too. Great atmosphere and ample space to chat and visit or to work. — Brian and Sally D.

Good coffee. Dirty, dirty, dirty floors, tables, sofas. Bad sign this early in the AM on a Saturday. My personal rule is that when the breakfast sandwich menu board is hidden behind the counter and the staff pulls it out when you mention bkfst sandwiches — do not order the breakfast sandwich.

Upscale/classy vibe as opposed to the typical Portland hipster coffee shop vibes. The prices are comparable to said hipster coffee shops in Portland. It’s a great place to study and the owner and his partner are super nice. Only things I would like to see different are later closing hours and more outlets, but the same could be said for most coffee shops.

Nice coffee shop to change up my routine from Insomnia and Ava. They have some outside seating, cushion chairs, regular and bar tables. Food selection is alright for a coffee shop. A unique things is they offer cocktails and have happy hour specials, a nice treat after typing away for a couple hours. Unfortunately, they don’t stay open as late as the other places. The service has been pretty nice and the café owner was engaging and solicited for feedback on how he could improve.

This is a charming place. I’ve only had a couple of drinks there, but what I liked was the attention to detail the servers gave to my orders. Plus, the drinks were excellent. It’s a comfortable, friendly, inviting space.

I really like the ambiance inside and the fact they give you the option to order wine or cocktails. The owner brought us a lovely sample of the Mango martini they offer. I plan on coming to check out he million dollar martini if it’s half as good as the million dollar iced drip I’ll be happy!

My husband and I have been eager to find a better alternative to Starbucks for an occasional leisurely breakfast, especially after our favorite local independent spot went out of business. We’ve been to Java Lounge 4 – 5 times now, and regret that the fare doesn’t measure up to the wonderful décor and ambiance. While this is a perfect, relaxing spot with wi-fi service and friendly staff, the pastries are hit or miss, sometimes uninspired, less-than-fresh, limp and leaden.(I am reviewing breakfast service only, we haven’t tried afternoon/evening).

Always passed by this place and finally decided to peak in. It looks very fancy outside — almost like a restaurant. The parking lot is pretty tiny and at a slant, however there are residential parking spaces as well. Atmosphere: serene, jazzy, and an older crowd — not saying the younger crowd would not enjoy! I liked it. Jazzy music was playing when I visited. Plenty of choices when it comes to seating — chairs with tables and couches with coffee tables. Food: I ordered a breakfast mcmuffin and a mocha. What I liked was that the barista brought the drink and food to me as I had settled in to study. So nice! Mocha was good. Mcmuffin was ok. I don’t think I would recommend the mcmuffin, but maybe try something else! Would I come back? Sure, and I’d bring a friend

Thursday, this place has open mic for local artists, and they open till 11 pm. The music is amazing. They also got alcohol license for wine and cocktails. It’s a nice place for me to study and get my work done. The coffee is not bad either. If you want to find a nice place up relax, I highly recommend Java Lounge.

The owners are so friendly and helpful. The coffee is great and so pretty you’ll want to photograph it. They even have gluten free bread for sandwiches and gluten free brownie. And did I mention the coffee — love the million dollar latte. Great place to meet with friends, hang out, use the Internet, and drink coffee.

Emile is the owner of the coffee lounge and my gosh does he make amazing coffee and drinks! He’s also expanded his lounge to have open mic nights, Saturday night performers, and more. I’m a regular at his location.

Java Lounge is one of my favorite breakfast/coffee spots. They always have a good selection of pastries and surprisingly you can also get full meals. There is always plenty of seating, parking is easy and the baristas are friendly and efficient.

Edit: I’m here practically every weekend, it’s an excellent study spot! They haven’t been open long but I’ve been coming since about a month after their opening. Usually, the same woman with light blonde hair is working. She’s very friendly and is always helpful. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware they had punch cards until today so I think I have some catching up to do! The coffee in my opinion is way better than the other local options I’m aware of, like Ava, Edge and Sbux. I usually order their Latte or Million Dollar Latte made with their 24 hour cold drip. It’s delicious, strong and bold but not burnt or acidic. They get their pastries from a different shop, while I’ve only tried the almond croissant it is absolutely bomb. Mascarpone and almonds and sugar and yum. Downside: PARKING is a pain. Their lot is tiny and very awkward to get in and out of. There is street parking(free yay!) available though on the plus side.

The service is a bit slow. They served me a hummus plate which had hair in it. When I told them about it, they said if I want I can get a refund. Otherwise, the black and white coffee was great.

Java Lounge is such a great place to grab coffee or a drink with a friend or to get work done on your laptop. The owner and baristas are really friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make you feel welcome. I love that they have milk alternatives other than soy; and their gluten-free food options. I also enjoyed a «winetini» and sangria. Everything I’ve ordered has been great. The space is beautiful inside and the patio will be great this summer. I will be going here often.

I wasn’t super impressed with this place. I asked about sugar free flavor options and the gentleman behind the counter responded with a «I don’t do sugar free.» They had 3 sugar free options. I asked if they could recommend something since I was a new customer. They recommended their«million dollar latte». It was so hot I burnt my tongue and couldn’t drink it for at least 20 minutes. By the time I was able to take a real drink without scalding my mouth, I was over it. It didn’t taste like a million dollar latte. It resembled more of an overpriced, burnt cup of coffee. Needless to say, I probably won’t be back.

Conveniently located on Cornell where there aren’t other sit-down coffee shops like it. Ample seating, free wi-fi, multiple tables near power outlets, decent espresso, and a good variety of pastries in the case, all make the Java Lounge a weekly afternoon stop for me and my son when we have an hour to kill between school and music lessons. My seven year old is always pleased with the choice of yogurts, granola bars, smoothies, and juices.

My fiancé and I were looking for some coffee after doing the Shanghai Tunnels tour(check it out, it’s pretty cool) and Java Lounge was the only place open within 5 miles(this was around 9:30pm). We show up and almost missed it, as it’s kinda hard to see at night. It’s tucked on a residential corner that doesn’t look like it has anything open after dark.(this is my only complaint, I swear! It’s just a little hard to see) Unfortunately, it was really close to their closing time when we walked in, so they were cleaning up and only had drip coffee available. This was totally fine, as their drip is DELICIOUS. The owner felt bad for not having any espresso available and gave us each a cookie to make up for it(which are also DELICIOUS by the way). We hung out and chatted with him for a little bit, and you guys, this guy is dedicated to his business. He is incredibly passionate about giving the best quality products to his customers as he possibly can. We left pretty quickly(they were closing, afterall) but promised to come back the next day to try out his Million Dollar Martini. Next day, I of course order said martini(super amazing espresso and vodka) and it is also delicious. Fiancé ordered a mocha with dark chocolate(a new favorite of both of ours). I really wish we lived closer to the Portland area so we could give more money/attention to this amazing business and it’s inspiring owner. TL:DR — Go drink coffee here, they know what they’re doing.

Java lounge is really kinda cool. I was worried. The previous tenant in this building, well, it was just weird. It’s pretty fancy architecture for the neighborhood, it has a scary parking lot, and just doesnt fit in. So we went in after dinner at nearby CT Bistro with some trepidation and curiosity. But Java Lounge makes it work. There are lots of comfy barrel chairs and a couch(most coffee places have two comfy chairs and thats it, looking at you Starbucks) as well as tables and regular chairs. There’s a lot of outside seating. The people working there were nice. The man shaking up cocktails was quite happy to explain everything to us. They served coffee martinis and white chocolate raspberry martinis(among other things like pinot wine) to other customers who seemed happy, there is food, and the espresso is pretty good. Our tiramisu and baklava were tasty. Theres free wifi, the music was decent, and I liked the cool vibe. It was pretty empty on Halloween night, I hope business is brisker at other times. I like that theyre open till 10pm every night. Its nice to have an evening option for coffee or a drink that isnt Starbucks or the brew pub. As I pointed out to my daughters uncle(im pushing him to date and get out) it’d be a great hangout place/first date place. Go, give it a try. Keep them open !! Just park on the street though.
