I go here for a number of reasons; first and foremost I make a point of supporting local real-​life businesses where people work, and humans interact. This cannot, in my opinion ever be adequately replaced by a Redbox or Netflix or other mega-​conglomerate.
At Impulse I can talk with film buffs that can appreciate my taste for foreign language horror films and women in prison biopics and make genius recommendations accordingly. The staff are always spot on, always so friendly and they make me feel my business is appreciated.
Maybe I want to see something that isn’t a megatrillion hollywood earner or that isn’t from the last 2 – 3 years! Don’t let the convenience of other options keep you from kicking it old school and finding new favorites that can’t be chosen by a robot. Plus they tend to be compassionate if you return something a little wee bit late.

Great independent video (DVD, blu-​ray, some VHS) rental store!
Great selection of new releases and older movies, including classics (with an entire row of Hitchcock films), foreign films (organized by country), comedy, children’s, drama, etc.
Selections include numerous «Criterion» editions of classic films, making this a prime source of hard-​to-​find classics. Movie lovers will love this store!

There are not too many independently owned video stores around anymore. The owner was going to close shop. Fortunately, a Hillsdale neighborhood Mom saved this gem and purchased the store a couple of weeks ago. You will continue to find a great selection of videos, including new releases and the same knowledgeable staff.

For what seems like every movie place going out of buisness, it is nice to have this gem. Located in Hillsdale, you can grab pizza and a movie all for a cheap price in a nice neighborhood.
They have alot of older movies here, suprising for its size. It is always clean, they have everything organized. Miles is the coolest person that works there, he always has great movie recommendations. I really hope this place sticks around.

This place is a great alternative to Netflix, now that they have made getting movies on DVDs so expensive and elusive. Impulse is friendly, easy to navigate, and they have a friendly knowledgeable staff. It’s great to have them in the neighborhood!

Impulse is the local video store that I remember from the pre-​Blockbuster and Hollywood days, a great selection, including lots of foreign films. The staff are very nice and know their movies and I always find something there I want to watch. Great video store.

This place has a superb selection of new releases and older films, with beefy foreign and documentary sections. You can always find something worth watching here, and the staff are pretty knowledgeable about what’s in the store. Their rental rates are reasonable, and they have daily 2-​for-​1 deals on movies. It’s everything your neighborhood video store should be.
