Hostbaby

is a musicians’ website. It is not cheap, but it is very easy to use, which part of its selling point. Or WAS. I have been using
for the past 7 years or so, and each year it has gotten progressively worse. I do not often log on to edit my site, but the few times that I do, I continually get a message saying URL not found, and am unable to edit my information. Rather than having this website as a marketing tool, its incompetency causes a handicap for me.
In addition, for nearly 2 years I had emailed them asking them to please change my domain name (I made a lateral move in my career and was using my real name rather than stage name). They kept telling me that they had changed it, blah blah blah, and it never was changed.
Last March I had also been trying for weeks to email them about a payment. Not only did they not answer my emails, but they actually processed my payment and STILL SHUT DOWN MY WEBSITE. I finally got sick of it and called them impatiently and after several attempts, demanded angrily that they fix it. Rather than the old adage of «the customer always being right», this guy was totally rude and even ridiculing to me, threatening to just shut down my website altogether if I wasn’t nice to him.
I went ahead and kept it only because I didn’t have the time or energy to change it. Then tonight., 7 months later, I went online to try to edit it and it didn’t allow me to do so.
Whatever you do, FIND ANOTHER WEB HOSTING COMPANY! Hostbaby is horrible.
