This shop has gone through many changes, the crew now(Toby, Memo and Kimber) are passionate about their art. The shop is clean and comfortable. Toby goes above and beyond, spending more than the«open hours» drawing and tattooing. He loves what he does and it shows. Ask him for custom work and he will show you a thought out, unique design that will work with the body part it’s drawn for. Toby is a respectful person an amazing artist and the only person I will let tattoo me.

My favorite shop to go to hands down. I’ve gotten almost all of my work done here by the same artist, Kim, and I’ve never been disappointed. The other two artists are very friendly and talented as well, so I’m glad that it’s just the three of them again. I’ve gotten tattoos at a couple other shops in town(regrettably) and nothing compares to the professionalism and talent of Hawthorne Ink! They have a really cool atmosphere, the best music playing(plus they don’t mind if I join in and sing loudly and off key) and such a unique style that keeps me wanting more. The artists have always been awesomely fair with pricing and I’ve never felt overcharged or hustled. I’ve even let a piece dry heal(not so much on purpose) and the artwork didn’t get all fucked like other ones I’ve had done elsewhere, that’s how I know Kim is doing it right. I’ll always keep coming back until there’s no open spaces left to tattoo! Thank you all at Hawthorne Ink for being such great people /friends to me and always making me feel welcomed /at home here. I would definitely recommend this shop and already have had multiple friends and a family member get tattooed by my artist as well and they’ve never been done wrong!

A few weeks ago I spontaneously decided I wanted to get 2 small finger tattoos. I called a few shops that stayed open later in the evening but most of them had a $ 100 minimum. The guy who I spoke to at Hawthorne Ink was very friendly and told me that my small finger tattoos would only be $ 60 and that he would stay open late for me if he needed to so I decided to go there. When I got there there was a guy starting a tattoo on a woman and another at the front desk. I told him that I wanted a bobbi pin on the inside of my pinky and a heart on my knuckle. He didn’t sound like the guy from the phone and he also didn’t sound very into my tattoo but told me it would be $ 80 and gave me paperwork. After I finished the paperwork he told me it would be a few minutes while he drew out the tattoos. He showed them to me and I asked if he could change the heart to just an outline instead of filling it in. He then tried to tell me that it wouldn’t work for whatever reason so I told him he could change the size to make it work but that’s how I wanted it. After he re drew it he told me it would be about 10 minutes while he got his stuff ready. After about 20 minutes I heard the other guy working yell«are you going to do those finger tattoos or what?». Finally, probably 10 more minutes after that he finally came and got me, yet, after I got in the chair he still didn’t seem to have anything ready and continued to scramble around the shop looking for things like a razor, gauze, pen, ect. He placed and scrubbed off the stencil of the heart on my knuckle three times before just freehand drawing it on with a pen a few times. The final drawing was exactly how I wanted and perfectly symmetrical but once he tattooed it, it wasn’t. Before he started tattooing I noticed his hands were shaking really bad and I should have just bailed at that point. I didn’t pretend to like it when he was done because it wasn’t symmetrical at all anymore but I didn’t want him to mess with it more and make it worse so he moved on to the bobbi pin. Once again he had to place the stencil several times before getting it in the right spot. I was definitely not impressed with the final result of the bobbi pin either. The lines werent straight or clean and it just looked sloppy. I sign the papers at the end that stated I was«100% happy» just because I wanted to get out of there. I’m not sure if this guy was new or what because he never even introduced himself but I definitely wouldn’t recommend this shop to my friends and I will not be going back. I learned my lesson with spontaneous tattoos but I didn’t think a bobbi pin and heart would be that complicated. I’m get pretty bummed out seeing the sloppy tattoos on my hands all the time and it’s also really embarrassing.
