This location is a little too busy during the lunch hour. So, if you don’t call in your order before hand plan on waiting about 20 – 30 minutes for your meal. I do, however, love the turkey chutney! I’m addicted. :) So, it is definitely worth the wait.

I love a great sandwich… The sandwiches here are good, not great. I had the turkey with cranberry chutney. The white bread came with a piece of leaf lettuce, harvarti cheese, and three slices of turkey; hardly a mouthful. Service is slow, it wasn’t busy, the counter guy cranky and our three sandwiches came to $ 40.we drank water. We had to pickup our food at the counter, and bus our table. $ 40… $ 40…three sandwiches. many other options around.

I have been a long time customer of Grand Central Bakeries. I have enjoyed good food and service over the years. My experience today at the NW York location did not turn out well. When I ordered two rustic banquettes sliced the young man waiting on me got very terse. Then when I got the bread home I found it was all mangled and very few pieces were in full slice form. I am not sure I will do any of my bread for my catering there again if this the product I’ll receive.

The Veggie Grinder sandwich is my JAM. Has anything ever tasted so good? Great balance between spicy, savory, and sour. Even though the lunch wait for a sammy is 10 – 15 minutes, it’s always worth it.

BLT. Go now to Grand Central and get one. They only serve these when the tomatoes are ripe. I noticed a recent review stating that the service is surly, but that was not my experience. It took a bit of time to make my sandwich, but I spent that time eavesdropping on the conversation next to me and watching the process of preparing baguettes for proofing. Totally entertaining. I brought a book, but didn’t need it. Terrific BLT.

THEWORST! I eat at grand central regularly but was running short on time at knew they are slow, so grabbed the new McDonald’s Jalapeño double MEAL for $ 4.20. It was surprisingly good… but it was McDonald’s. So the next day I go back to Grand central and order a Roast beef sandwich. The staff is surly as usual, but that’s OK because their quality is so High. I paid $ 8.50, bu that’s OK because the quality is so high. It took over 30 minutes to make my sandwich, but that’s Ok because the quality is so high. I finally got my sandwich and the roast beef was the driest most grisley meat i have ever had. Grand Central did have better bread, but on EVERY other measure Price, service, speed and quality McDonalds beat it, and NOT by a small margin… by a mile! I never want to waste my money there again

Quality food, nice coffee, industrial yet warm & inviting atmosphere, and pleasant staff. 2 coffees, a granola bowl, a breakfast sandwich, and 3 pastries for about $ 24. Not dirt cheap but not outrageous, and the quality can certainly demand a slightly higher price. Will definitely be back to try out more of their menu!

I love the veggie sandwich. Triple chocolate cookies = Heaven. It was only recently that I realized these cookies are gluten free. How is this possible? Try them a tiny bit warm. My kids love the croissants and latte dunkers. Now for the best part: Blackberry Yummies. Please, Grand Central, promise to always, always make the blackberry yummies!

I keep coming back to grand central for the delicious breakfast sandwiches. The pastry selection changes seasonally. I have yet to be disappointed.

$ 9.00 for a sandwich, chips, and a cookie is pretty steep but Grand Central REALLY knows how to make a delicious sandwich. I have been coming here frequently because its pretty close to work and they have a delicious Basil Egg Salad Sandwich on a bread with kalamata olives baked in it. YUM! Industrial feel, but great for a quick lunch with friends!

The monkey muffin is delicious. The cinnamon roll is complete garbage and not worth your time. Its dry at the center, overbaked and tastes like hard pizza crust with honey drizzled on it. The pastries are hit or miss here. Hoping their process could be more consistent.

GC Makes some very tasty breads. I frequent at Grand Central Bakeries store fronts around town and I always love dropping in and getting a pastry or 2. My only thing is sometimes their bread crusts are a bit on the hard side which isn’t their issue because that’s the nature of the bread but sometimes you’re just not in the mood to get the top of your inner mouth all ripped up and cut! Coffee is surprisingly tasty and so are their breakfast sandwiches.

This review is not for the bread(which I love) but for the breakfast menu at Grand Central. We came here for coffee and some breakfast sandwiches and both left still feeling a little hungry and our wallets much lighter. In my opinion, you can get much better breakfast fare elsewhere. We didn’t have any pastries which looked good, so I can’t speak for that, however if you’re legitimately hungry, find somewhere else to brunch!

I really like Grand Central. I can’t drink coffee anymore and they make great Chai Latte’s. The pastries are all great and the sandwiches are, too. We went for breakfast, which is pretty limited. I wish that they would do a french toast or something. We had a bit of a problem finding this location. They need more signage.

Great pastries. I hear the coffee is great. I was expecting more of a Panera Bread feel for lunch but was disappointed with the lunch. Just had a sandwich and chips but it was the best oatmeal cookie I’ve ever had! Try: coffee cake, bread pudding muffin, any cookie! Super nice people too.

The Banh-Mi is back! Just another reason to grab my Como loaf sliced on arrival. This location has plenty of parking and the outside picnic tables are great when warmer weather returns. I particularly love the Vegetarian Grinder(I ask for it on sourdough) — that vinaigrette has the perfect hint of tartness to balance the rest of the fixins.

I really really really like Grand Central Bakery. I wish I worked nearby still! The grinder salad is delicious! Just a few simple ingredients, making up the perfect meaty yet not too heavy sandwich. I’ve also tried the hot dog buns and they were pretty darn amazing. They put those grocery store ones to shame! The blueberry muffin was decent, but the monkey muffin was absolutely sinful! It is like a cinnamon roll/morning bun, but better! Give it a try! The cinnamon rolls on the other hand had raisins, were not sticky, or very sweet. It just wasn’t a cinnamon roll imo! Now, the reason why I love Grand Central so much is because they serve Caffe Vita! This brings me back to my college days of living in Seattle.

Carb-Coma Heaven! WOW, I have yet to try something that I don’t like here. The warm butter biscuit with raspberry jam, coffee cake and MONKEYBREAD– fantastic! It’s hard to have a favorite here.

Go for the baked goods, stay for the show. I’ve been a fan of Grand Central for many years. It’s a chain, but a NW chain, making a consistently good product. This particular location has a huge production area, as Stanley pointed out. You can sit inside and watch them bake, or sit in the enclosed glass area in the front. My favorite things are the fruit hand pies, jammers, and olive bread. They now offer cookie dough, puff pastry, and pie dough that has been frozen, and is ready for use. Pretty cool!
