I’ve been shopping at Giustos for over 20 years. I love going here. While they are not organic the quality is very good. Cheap, high quality veggies. And it feels like you’ve stepped back in time where those selling the produce are directly related to growing it. When I’m in a chain grocery store looking at produce I clearly see that Giustos prices are less and the quality is better. As I mentioned they aren’t «organic» but neither do they use some of the more pernicious techniques of nonorganic agriculture. They don’t spray the potatoes with anti sprouting chemicals, they don’t coat peppers or cukes with anti-fungal wax, etc. I won’t buy veggies I know to be treated this way. I can’t wait for them to reopen in July.

The real deal — in the event you can’t plant a garden for fresh produce, no worries just shop here. The brussel sprouts were wonderful still on the stalk, sometimes they get great looking mushrooms and nuts. They grow terrific squash. They’ve been around of years. Giusto Farms has been growing veggies and offering fresh produce to the public before it was cool, so shop old school.

Giusto Farms has been around for years and is owned by an Italian, which means they have the best looking fennel, basil, tomatoes and parsley. Of course, they carry many other fruits and veggies, however, the Italian in me loves the freshness of the Italian staples. If you are going East on Sandy Blvd towards this place, look to your right. Most of the veggies you are about to buy is located right there. It doesn’t get anymore local than that…
