I just wanted to voice a formal complaint. I have been a patient of Dr. GIles in the past, prior to my medical diagnosis which has required that I see a corneal specialist and not an optometristt. My husband is a current Dr. Giles patient and has been for over 20 years. I was very disappointed to find out although Dr. Giles is a Blue Vision listed provider, he will only fill his own prescriptions and will not honor a prescription by another provider. I was also told by his office manager they would submit my eyeglass script if I paid out of pocket and submitted the claim myself under my vision plan(which would be a lower reimbursement for me personally/financially) I find it hard to understand that Dr. Giles can be a contracted Blue Vision provider, for both the optical shop/eyecare and can pick and choose what services he will provide. I would have accepted this as office policy, if the billing person I spoke with at Dr. Giles office had not also gone on to tell me «that filling the prescriptions for this vision plan is hardly worth it, the reimbursement is not that good». I have to wonder, is the«picking and choosing» partly because the level of reimbursement? I have no way to know for sure. My husband has been a loyal patient for years, I was until I had to switch for a medical reason. I had felt comfortable with the quality your optical shop provided. I do not just want to pick a name off a list. I am not feeling very good about Giles Eyecare at the present. As a nurse, I am often asked by patients, friends, family and providers who I would recommend. They know I do my homework and value my opinion. Giles Eyecare is now off my list. I plan to ask my husband to switch providers based on today’s experience. Interestingly enough, I had posted this honest and true review a month earlier, and when I looked today, it had been taken off, also no effort by Giles eyecare to remedy the situation. I have since gotten my glasses at another provider and am very happy with the service and the product.
