Do. Not. Go. This review could go on forever with the details of my terrible experience but I’ll keep it short and include a photo for reference. I definitely do not recommend having your hair colored here.

My stylist was super nice but she did not listen at ALL to what I wanted. By the time I saw, it was too late. Told her to keep the length in the front– she even repeated«ok, so keep the length just shorten in back and angle». My appt was at 5 on a Saturday and she was running behind so I think she was just too rushed and must have mixed up what I said with an earlier client. She took about 5 inches off! My hair does not grow quickly and I was growing it out! She was rush, rush, rushing, and knocked me in the head a couple times with the blow dryer and scissors. In her defense, it’s a cute cut… just for someone who wanted SHORT hair. Ugh, so frustrating. Also, the receptionist was very unhelpful– everything I asked was answered with«I don’t know» rather than«let me go find out for you». She offered me tea and when I asked what kind or if it had caffeine she said«I don’t know, Ive never had it» and when I asked if she validated parking for the garage next door(that says 500 local businesses validate it) she also just said«yeah, I don’t know… probably not.» ?? Will never go back there.

I went to Gigi Salon & Spa a second time because I trust it more than any other business. They washed, shampooed, cut, blowdried and styled my hair exactly the way I wanted it for an affordable price(really ladies, their prices are affordable. look it up! ;-)). Also, they massaged oil into my hair(the best part!). I wanted Twiggy’s hairstyle from 1966. Even though none of the pictures they looked at showed the back of Twiggy’s head, the staff was able to successfully figure it out. My stylist was Katie and she did a PERFECT job! She was new yet really impressed me with her sophisticated skill set. She was approachable, friendly, attentive and met my expectations for high quality service. The staff was so nice to offer me a discount on my second visit. They did not demand a tip or added bogus charges. It showed how much they valued and respected their customer. FYI: It’s a block away from Pioneer Square. If you enjoy eating icecream, shopping, sightseeing and whatnot, Gigi Salon & Spa is a great way to start your day!

Omg this place is so awesome!!! The staff rock!!! They are so freaking nice, the location is perfect, and it’s such a pleasant experience overall. I really love this place and cannot recommend it enough! I forgot to mention that I went here to have my hair done for my wedding with my best friend and mom. The stylists were so nice and finished our hair so much earlier than our deadline so we were able to squeeze in some tea and take a breath during my chaotic day. :)

I got a shellac manicure here and although the staff was super nice, this is the worst manicure I have ever had. I could have done a better job painting them myself. The pictures speaks for itself. I also got a pedicure and you can still see the pink from my last pedicure underneath… It’s almost unbelievable how bad this is. The polish also started to chip off the very next day, which isn’t bad considering I am getting them removed as soon as possible. I will say the staff was super nice so I hate to write this, but if you’re looking for a good mani/pedi downtown, do not come here.

I went in for a hair color appointment with Robyn, who assured me that the hair color we decided on would look fantastic. She had asked me if I had any pervious color in my hair. I told her that for the most part the«grow out» she saw, was all natural. It has been a few months since I colored my hair. We applied the color and rinsed it off. I immediately noticed my roots to be a much lighter color than the rest of my hair. Once dried, it became even more obvious. She asked me if I liked it, and before stating«no,» I decided to look at it in the light and give it some time. She also acknowledged that the roots were lighter and we would«fix it» by adding highlights next time I would come in for an appointment. Once I left and looked at my hair in daylight, it became quite obvious that this was not done correctly. Having paid, $ 200 for a color and cut, I was very upset and decided to go to another salon to get the color fixed, which involved bleaching everything(as red is hard to get out) and basically returning my color to a natural color I had before, another $ 200. The following day I went back to Gigi’s to speak with the manager and ask for my money back, the woman at the reception took my information and said she would return my call. The manager did call and listened to my detailed description of what took place. The best she could do was offer half off on my next service, as my request was not in compliance with their«re-do» policy which states that they will accommodate an unhappy customer within about a week or so, and do to the fact I did not voice my unhappiness upon check-out, she could not do anything about it. In my opinion, this response from a manager is completely unacceptable and shows lack of customer service knowledge. $ 100 to a business that large is a minimal amount, but instead, she kept interrupting me and reminding me that I went against the policy. As a business, if you created the policy, you can break it as well to accommodate a customer. As this response was not acceptable, given that I have no intention of returning to the salon, I asked to speak with the owner of the salon. I week has passed without a response. At this point, I am taking matters into my own hands and would like to warm everyone about this establishment and their lack of professionalism. The integrity of my hair is ruined and I am out $ 400 as a result of someone’s mistake. Please, please save your money and do not go there. There are various other good places within downtown. I will also be placing a complaint with Better Business Bureau.

I work down town and was looking for a new stylist, I walk past GiGi’s all the time next to Nordstrom and thought I would give it a shot. Lehua was AMAZING!!! For my first time going to her I was a bit nervous but I walked out so happy with my cut and the service! She really listened to what I wanted out of my hair cut, and was meticulous about the outcome. I highly recommend you try out Lehua, she is amazing!

I had such a great experience at Gigi’s Salon! I got my hair trimmed and styled and I love how it turned out. I would definitely recommend asking for Leila, she was very friendly and gave me exactly what I wanted with my hair! I’ll definitely be going back to Gigi’s to get my hair cut by Leila the next time I need a haircut. The setting was really relaxing and everyone there was very friendly! Thanks!

Don is an amazing artist, craftsman, stylist, and visionary. I meet him at a Portland Business Alliance After-hours event and knew I had found my new stylist. I scheduled an appointment with him even though I wasn’t due for a color, but because I was heading out of town for the Thanksgiving Holiday I wanted to get started on «me-time». I can’t say enough how pleased I am with the cut and color. I really admire and appreciate how efficient and skilled he is. I left feeling pampered with the best cut and color I have ever had.

I’ve been coming to the downtown Gigi location for several years now — and have been with them since the moves from SW Park to SW Jefferson, finally to SW Morrison. The newest location is amazing, it’s so spacious. I’m really hoping they stick with this new store. I have never had a bad experience here — love the stylists and the services they offer. This is saying a lot because the downtown salon seems to have a LOT of turnover, so it’s been really hard for me to find one stylist to stick to. I’m also not terribly consistent with cuts. That said, everyone I’ve ever sat with has been very skilled, and made it a great experience. It has never been a surprise to me that cuts and treatments are more costly here since they use Aveda products and work to create a lovely spa atmosphere. Every time I come in, I’m treated to a neck/scalp massage(more recently, a hand/arm massage — lovely!) and offered tea or water, and most recently beer or wine(LOVE). They really seem to put an emphasis on customer service and the staff is incredibly friendly. They always have amazing music on as well. I especially wanted to submit this review because of my last experience in the salon. it was definitely 5-star. I was able to get a last minute appointment — they were super accommodating of my work schedule and got me in for a cut and color the same evening I called. I love that they are open until 8 pm! Don took care of me this time around — my first time meeting him, and what a treasure he is. He is so incredibly skilled and personable and fun. I showed him a picture of the cut I was envisioning and he made it a reality. He was so detailed and precise — the cut is just beautiful, as well as the color he did. If you have a chance to sit with Don at the downtown location, do it! He’s amazing! All around a perfect salon — don’t be afraid to treat yourself, have a glass of wine, and shell out a few bucks.

Love, love, love my experience here! Kyle is awesome she is very genuine and gave me an awesome head of highlights, cut, and style. I now feel like i can have fun in the sun with my new do. Beautiful salon, friendly people, service excellence, and refreshing herbal tea. I’m definitely going back for all my hair services. Never ever ever again. Its is super close to my work so I popped in for a brazilian wax after work. The girl who did it was super friendly, no complaints there. HOWEVER. Firstly, the price, 80 dollars for a wax??? I have never ever seen it go that high and I have been waxing for 11 years. Secondly, It took forever, I need just a little clean up before going on vacation and anywhere else would have taken 10 – 15 mins tops. It took 35 mins and when I inspected after she had missed some major spots. Lastly, It had almost completely grown in by the second week. Which means they didnt do a good job because I have never had it grow in that fast. So many reasons it was a bad experience so definitely only one star for waxing.

I had a great experience here. It has taken a while for me to write the post but I was visiting from California on business and needed a quick nail and brow fix. It took me longer to get there so I was late. The manicurist graciously put her purse and coat back(she was out the door) and I had a wonderful treatment. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately they had a 1 star review earlier that week and were really disappointed. Instead of complaining, they posted it in their workroom so they remembered they should do better. Great job Gigi’s Salon!

Don is my hero! I went in for foundation and ended up getting a haircut; am so glad I did! My previous two cuts(done elsewhere) had been bad and the upper layers were extremely short, leaving so little to work with that I thought I had to suffer ’til it all grew out. Don was able to even out the lower lengths and make some adjustments to the back so that it looks good and«very stylish»(a compliment I received from a stranger after I left). Yay! I was also very impressed with how all the staff helped one another and how amazingly respectful they were of each other. Another bonus, Don massaged my hands while the conditioner absorbed. I don’t know if that’s always part of the hair wash, but it was delightful. And the hair products he used were perfect for my hair; it’s never felt so soft. All in all it was a lovely experience and I highly recommend Don.
